The luxury motor yacht MANA I was built by Mulder Shipyard and delivered to her owner in 2020, she later underwent a refit in 2021.

The exterior of MANA I is designed by Van Oossanen Naval Architects.

The 118ft / 36m MANA I has been constructed with a aluminum hull and is powered by 2x Caterpillar C-18 diesel engines at 2272hp with a cruising speed of 15 knots and a top speed of 17 knots.

Built by Mulder, all-aluminium luxury yacht MANA I (a.k.aBN118) is the third hull in the Mulder ThirtySix series and measures a total of 36m/118ft. She features naval architecture from Van Oossanen Naval Architects and exterior styling of Claydon Reeves Design Studio, while the interiors are the work of Vickers Studio based in London. The accommodation is designed to sleep 10 guests over four en-suite cabins, with a crew of six for professional service throughout the journey.

Guests arriving on board are greeted by a spacious beach club for relaxing bedside the water on complete comfort. Two stairways lead up to the main deck aft, which is shaded by the upper deck overhang to provide a space for all-day outdoor usage, including alfresco dining.

The bridge deck layout places a large Jacuzzi with a swim-up bar and a broad sunbed along the aft for the group to unwind together in the sunshine. A set of steps leads into the central area shaded by the hardtop, furnished with an L-shaped sofa and drinks table as well as an alfresco dining area opposite. Forward, a staircase leads into the pilothouse.

Vickers Studio also completed the styling for award-winning DELTA ONE, the first Mulder ThirtySix hull, and has opted for a walnut interior.

The layout provides four cabins in a layout similar to sistership CALYPSO.

Mana I superyacht features a bespoke modern exterior with her sleek aluminium construction and the continuous window line which culminates in a contemporary plumb bow.

The slender, fluid design goes against the current fashion of balooning beams, as the hull measures a perfect eight metres at its widest point. The slender hull and long waterline will together ensure outstanding seakeeping capacities in rough seas, enhancing comfort for owner and guests alike.

Accommodation on Mana I Yacht

Mana I yacht accommodates 10 guests in 4 spacious guest staterooms. Two guest cabins are convertible to either twin or double cabins, and feature an additional pullman bed each. The exceptional features of the full beam owner's stateroom on main deck is heightened by dedicated access to a private seating area at the bow - a tranquil nook from which to contemplate the horizon. Above the owner's bed, you will find a panoramic window through which you can enjoy a view of the starred night sky.

An impressive saloon and dining room is located on the main deck of Mana I, with floor to ceiling windows providing panoramic views all around whilst also flooding the interior with lots of natural light. The dining experience will be enhanced by the addition of a folding side balcony, which brings seascape panoramas right to the table.

Reached through large glass doors, the shaded aft deck seating overlooking the beach club provides the ideal spot for a cocktail or al fresco meal. Both zones are generously proportioned for the size of yacht.

Up top, the sun deck, reached via the raised wheelhouse or stairs from the side decks, sports a seven-person Jacuzzi, sun pads galore and another comfortable dining area with 360-degree views, protected from the breeze by the windscreen forward.

Mana I yacht features a beach club in the stern which can be easily accessed from the main deck aft; and also also houses a transverse garage. The superyacht is also supplied with a "dolphin camera", which can stream any guest appearances by dolphins live to the TV in the saloon.

Launched in 2020, marking the third hull in the Mulder Thirty-Six series, the 36m (118ft) motor yacht MANA I has been custom-built for entertainment and relaxation, and is available for luxury yacht charters around the stunning Balearic island of Menorca this summer.

Her main deck offers an open and airy main salon with lounge area and formal dining. A well-appointed balcony creates a continuous connection between the inside and the outside, while a bar adds sophistication and convenience.

Meanwhile, there are plenty of alfresco areas on offer. Guests can enjoy meals outdoors on the main deck aft, and then retreat to the beach club on the lower deck. Here, guests will find a great space for kicking back and enjoying the waterside views, with a fold-down swim platform and set of steps that allow for easy access to the ocean. 

Opportunities to soak up the sun continue on the sundeck, where guests can slide into the jacuzzi, sip drinks at the wet bar or stretch out on sunpads. Guests have an additional dining option here as well, which offers beautiful views and a more informal setting.

She features accommodation for up to 10 guests in four staterooms, with a flexible configuration that lends itself perfectly to chartering with children. Each cabin is equipped with en suite facilities.

Entrepreneur Mike Lynch’s body found in yacht wreckage; 1 still missing

The Bayesian yacht sank off Sicily this week. Lynch was a British tech entrepreneur who was recently acquitted in a U.S. fraud trial. His daughter remains missing.

The body of British tech entrepreneur Mike Lynch has been recovered from the wreckage of a sunken yacht off Sicily’s coast, an Italian government official said Thursday, speaking on the condition of anonymity in keeping with protocol.

The British-flagged Bayesian was carrying 12 passengers and 10 crew members roughly half a mile from the Sicilian fishing village of Porticello when it encountered what authorities called a “violent storm” about 4 a.m. Monday. Fifteen people were rescued shortly after the sinking and the body of the yacht’s chef, Recaldo Thomas, was recovered during initial search efforts.

Six people — including Lynch and his 18-year-old daughter, Hannah — were missing in the days after the sinking. Four bodies were pulled from the wreckage on Wednesday, and the Italian official said Lynch’s body was taken out of the water and identified on Thursday.

As of Thursday, only Lynch’s daughter was still missing.

Italian authorities have yet to publicly verify the identity of the fifth body recovered.

An Italian coast guard official, Vincenzo Zagarola, said the four bodies brought ashore by divers were identified as those of two couples: Morgan Stanley International Chairman Jonathan Bloomer and charity trustee Judy Bloomer and attorney Chris Morvillo and jeweler Neda Morvillo.

Lynch, 59, is best known for founding the tech venture capital firm Invoke Capital and co-founding the tech firms Autonomy and Darktrace. He sold Autonomy, which was once England’s biggest software company, to Hewlett-Packard in 2011 for more than $11 billion. He was subsequently accused of overvaluing the company and was charged in the United States with fraud. He was acquitted during a trial in San Francisco in June after a decade-long legal battle.

Many of the guests on the yacht had business or legal ties to Lynch: Chris Morvillo was a partner at the law firm Clifford Chance in New York and represented Lynch in the concluded legal battle. The voyage on the Bayesian was intended to be a celebration of Lynch’s victory, Britain’s Telegraph newpaper reported .

The 183-foot yacht was owned by a company controlled by Lynch’s wife, Angela Bacares, who was one of those rescued.

The violent weather appeared to have caught many by surprise. Zagarola, the coast guard official, said that they had expected only “strong gusts” on the day of the sinking and that no weather warnings had been issued.

5 bodies reportedly found off Sicily coast, 1 still missing after luxury superyacht sank in freak storm. Here's what we know about the incident.

Four bodies were reportedly recovered off the coast of Sicily on Wednesday by divers searching for passengers who were aboard the luxury superyacht that sank earlier this week, the Italian coast guard said. A fifth body has been spotted and will be recovered on Thursday, while one person still remains missing.

The diving crews brought body bags to the port in Porticello, Italy, but none of the deceased have been identified yet.

The yacht sank on Monday after it was caught in the middle of an unexpected and violent storm. One person, the ship's chef, was recovered Monday.

Among the six passengers unaccounted for on Monday were British tech magnate Mike Lynch, sometimes referred to as the “British Bill Gates,” and his daughter, Morgan Stanley International chairman Jonathan Bloomer and American lawyer Chris Morvillo.

What happened?

The Bayesian capsized while about half a mile off the coast of Porticello, a small fishing village. There were 22 people on board — 12 passengers and 10 crew members. The City Council of Bagheria said in a statement that seven adults were taken to the emergency room following the rescue, but “it seems that none are in serious conditions.”

While crews searched for the remaining bodies, others are trying to confirm why the boat sank in the first place. According to a BBC report , a heavy storm hit the coast of Sicily and created waterspouts , which are tornadoes that form over water. The waterspout winds were so powerful that they broke the boat’s mast in half, causing the ship, which was anchored, to lose its balance and sink.

The U.K.’s Marine Accident Investigation Branch plans to send a team of four investigators to make a preliminary assessment of why the Bayesian sank and why people were still on board.

As the ship was going down, 15 people were able to make it to safety and were rescued by a nearby boat.

The crew on a Dutch-flagged vessel nearby noticed the yacht had disappeared and saw flares being set off in the sea. They went to help survivors before the Italian coast guard could arrive.

One British passenger, Charlotte Golunski, told reporters she kept her 1-year-old daughter alive by holding her up above the water until they got on a lifeboat.

What to know about the Bayesian

Charter sites list the yacht’s weekly rent as $215,000, the Associated Press reported .

Boat International , a superyacht and luxury yacht guide, reported that the Bayesian had the tallest aluminum mast in the world at over 240 feet, making it one of the 50 largest sailing yachts in the world.

Who is Mike Lynch?

Lynch, 59, founded the software firm Autonomy and recently faced a legal battle with U.S.-based Hewlett-Packard after the tech company accused him of inflating Autonomy’s value in an $11 billion sale in 2011.

Lynch was acquitted of multiple fraud charges in June after a three-month trial, avoiding a potential 20-year jail sentence.

Italian Authorities Currently Don’t Have Anyone ‘Under Investigation’ over Luxury Yacht Sinking

Six people remain missing following the sinking of the 'Bayesian,' which capsized on Monday, Aug. 19 while moored about a half mile from the coast of Porticello, Sicily

The Italian authorities currently don't have anyone under investigation as the search continues for the six people who remain missing after a luxury yacht sank off the coast of Sicily.

Superyacht Bayesian capsized early on Monday, Aug. 19, while moored about a half mile from the coast of Porticello, according to a statement from the Italian Coast Guard, previously obtained by PEOPLE.

A source close to the investigators dealing with the incident tells PEOPLE that the "priority" is to search for and locate the missing people before the authorities look into what happened amid the tragedy.

"Obviously the priority is being able to work out what has happened to those that are missing and recover any bodies. At the moment, no one has been placed under investigation because until they find the bodies, they cannot evaluate any sort of accusation or charge," the source tells PEOPLE.

"But one thing that is striking is that nine out of 10 survivors are crew members. So once this phase is complete, there will be an attempt made to determine whether there were any incorrect maneuvers or negligence on the part of those managing the yacht, in order to determine whether there were any responsibilities in terms of what happened," the source added.

According to Reuters , prosecutors in the nearby town of Termini Imerese have opened an investigation into the tragedy. Per the Associated Press , prosecutors have yet to comment publicly on the matter.

A rescue operations source also told PEOPLE "it's unlikely anyone will be found during the course of today [Aug. 21]," due to the vessel being "designed differently from traditional ones in that the main cabins are at the stern." 

"There's very much hope for a miracle; everyone expects them to be trapped inside, but the hope is for there to be some form of air pocket," the source added.

The missing passengers include British tech entrepreneur Mike Lynch and his 18-year-old daughter Hannah, along with New York City-based lawyer Christopher Morvillo — who helped Lynch get acquitted in his recent fraud case — and his wife Neda.

A source close to the survivors previously told PEOPLE the group had traveled to the Aeolian Islands to celebrate the legal victory.

Morgan Stanley International chairman Jonathan Bloomer and his wife are also missing. Lynch's wife Angela Bacares was one of the 15 passengers rescued, along with Charlotte Golunski , who previously opened up about saving her 1-year-old daughter Sophie.

"I held her afloat with all my strength, my arms stretched upwards to keep her from drowning,” Golunski told Italian newspaper  la Repubblica , according to a translation.

According to Italian media outlets, per  Reuters , a man's body was found after the sinking and later identified as the yacht’s chef.

Those who remain missing are presumed dead by many of the investigators, local sources previously told PEOPLE, though authorities are yet to comment on that.

Mr Lynch is of Irish heritage – his father was a fireman from Co Cork, and his mother was a nurse from Co Tipperary.

The director-general of Sicily’s civil protection agency, Salvo Cocina, has confirmed that four bodies have been recovered by divers with the fifth having been found but not yet brought back to shore.

Cocina said: “On behalf of myself and my colleagues, I would like to express my deepest sympathy to the families of the victims and express our condolences to them at this difficult time”.

One person remains unaccounted for. It was earlier reported that all six bodies had been found.

Fifteen of the 22 passengers and crew on board – including Mr Lynch’s wife, Angela Bacares – were rescued after escaping on to a lifeboat.

Body bags were seen being brought into the harbour aboard a fire brigade boat and lifted up on to the quayside.

The Italian Coastguard previously did not rule out the possibility that those missing may still be alive, with experts speculating air pockets could have formed as the yacht sank.

Sasha Murray (29), from Co Sligo, was among those rescued. She is staying with the other survivors at a resort in the small town of Santa Flavia.

The search has been challenging for the rescue teams, who have struggled to get to the yacht, which is resting on the seabed off the coast at a depth of 50m. Once they breached the hull further investigation was obstructed by furniture and debris.

Fire crews described the rescue operation as “complex”, with divers limited to 12-minute underwater shifts.

Investigators are questioning witnesses and survivors. The yacht’s captain, James Cutfield, was reportedly interrogated for more than two hours.

The port authority has opened a separate investigation from that of the public prosecutor in the town of Termini Imerese, Sicily, to determine whether all adequate safety measures were taken by the crew. - Agencies

It was supposed to be a summer celebration.

British tech tycoon Mike Lynch had gathered his tried and trusted lawyers who had been with him every step of the way helping him emerge unscathed from a gruelling 13-year legal battle. Twelve guests had flown into the picturesque Italian port of Porticello, near Palermo from the UK , the US, Canada , New Zealand and Ireland , to mark the end of the fraud trial that had consumed much of their lives.

But now one person is dead and six more , including Mr Lynch, are missing with hopes fading for a successful rescue after the vessel capsized in during bad weather in the early hours of Monday morning.

The group had been welcomed on board the six luxurious suites of Bayesian, a 56-metre-long £30 million superyacht , by the ten crew. Boasting the tallest aluminium mast in the world - higher than Nelson’s Column - experts now speculate it may have caused her to topple and become pinned underwater in an unpredictable, ferocious storm.

The ship was named after the statistical method, the Bayesian inference, an 18th-century theory that helps forecasters predict outcomes more reliably. Mr Lynch based his entire PHD thesis around it, later amassing his huge fortune after selling Hewlett-Packard for $11 billion in 2011.

He had improbably beaten the odds in a bitter US legal dispute with the technology giant, convincing a jury that he was not guilty of claims of massive fraud after a long legal fight that finally came to an end in June. Two months ago he emerged from court with tears in his eyes a free man he pledged to restructure extradition laws that brought him to the US in cuffs.

Disaster struck at around 5am when a freak tornado over the sea known as a waterspout rocked the superyacht, according to Sicily ’s civil protection agency. The crew fired off disaster flares causing local fishermen and others to navigate the storm to come to the aid of survivors.

The captain of a nearby boat said that when the winds surged, he had turned on the engine to keep control of his vessel and avoid a collision with the Bayesian, which had been anchored alongside him.

“We managed to keep the ship in position and after the storm was over, we noticed that the ship behind us was gone,” Karsten Borner said.

The other boat “went flat on the water, and then down,” he added. He said his crew then found some of the survivors on a life raft and took them on board before the coast guard picked them up.

This included a one-year-old girl named Sophie one of the 16 survivors, so far.

Her mother, Charlotte Golunski, 36, told how she battled to keep her child above the dark and raging Mediterranean while calling for help amid the awful piercing screams of other struggling guests and crew.

“For two seconds I lost the baby in the sea, then I immediately held her again in the fury of the waves,” she told Giornale di Sicilia. “I held her tightly, tightly to me, while the sea was raging. So many were screaming. Fortunately, the lifeboat inflated and 11 of us managed to get on it.”

This left six passengers unaccounted for - Lynch and his 18-year-old daughter, Morgan Stanley International non-executive chairman Jonathan Bloomer, Clifford Chance lawyer Chris Morvillo, and their wives Judy and Neda.

The worn-out Captain of the yacht , James Catfield said simply: “We didn’t see it coming.”

“The wind was very strong. Bad weather was expected, but not of this magnitude,” a coast guard official in the Sicilian capital Palermo said the next day.

Local fisherman Giuseppe Cefalu told how he saw a “tornado” close to the port on Monday morning. Mr Cefalu said he and his brother Fabio saw a flare in the sky at around 5am.

The pair aided efforts to locate people in the water after the yacht vanished beneath the waves, but Mr Cefalu said he only saw cushions and a buoy.

He said weather conditions on the morning of the sinking were “fierce”, with “very strong” wind and rain.

The luxury superyacht is “practically intact” on the seabed despite sinking, Marco Tilotta, a firefighter diver from Palermo, has told Italian newspaper Il Messaggero.

He said in an interview that the multi-million yacht was lying on its side at a depth of 48 metres, but that divers were unable to gain access because of floating furnishings and other debris inside the yacht.

“The fear is that the bodies got trapped inside the vessel,” which was lying 49 metres deep, Salvatore Cocina, head of civil protection in Sicily , added.

“The biggest difficulty we have is due to the depth, which does not allow long times of intervention,” fire department diver Marco Tilotta told reporters. “We plan ... to search centimetre by centimetre.”

Now they enter a critical 24 hours according to Nick Sloane, a lead diver in the Costa Concordia wreck. He told Sky News that survivors might be trapped in air pockets inside the ship, but that time is running out fast to rescue them.

“They’ve got a very small window of time to try to find people stuck inside with hopefully an air pocket, and they could be rescued.

“If the yacht is on its side, it might have more air pockets than if it’s upright. She’s got quite a large keel, and that will deflect and put her on her side, I’m sure.”

Family await news of man on sunken luxury yacht

The twin brother of a British man, missing after a luxury yacht sank off the coast of Sicily, has said he is still waiting for news about his sibling.

Morgan Stanley Bank International chair Jonathan Bloomer and his wife Judy are among six people still missing after the Bayesian sank in a storm on Monday with 22 people on board.

Jeremy Bloomer, who lives in Worcestershire, said the family were still waiting to find out if Jonathan was still alive.

The search operation is now entering its third day but it is understood divers are struggling to get inside the boat’s wreckage.

“They’re still going down to the wreck, they can’t get through at the moment because of the debris in the way,” Mr Bloomer said.

“It’s a slow process, and it will take time. There might be air pockets but we don’t know.”

He said there had been no news so far, other than to say his brother was on the yacht.

He added that his nephew was in Sicily and was keeping the family updated.

“We’re just terribly sad for the family. We’re coping the best we can, and we’re all just supporting each other,” he said.

“He was my elder by half an hour, so, it means a lot when you lose a twin brother.

“We’ll still wait and see, so it’s fingers crossed.”

Mr Bloomer said he felt numb, and was still finding it difficult to process what had happened.
