The Invicta 26 was designed by E. G. Van de Stadt in 1964. The boat has a narrow hull and transom hung rudder and characteristic round hatches.

These hardy little yachts are renowned for being beautifully balanced when under sail. The keel extends for at least half her length, and more than two-thirds her waterline length, which gives great directional stability.

Verglas is sadly down on her luck and requires some attention prior to use, following several seasons ashore. Once recommissioned, she'll make a lovely, characterful yacht once more.

Invicta 26 long keel sailing yacht in good condition by Van de Stadt & Tyler’s Ailsa is a classic 2.3 tonne sloop - built in times when boat builders didn’t skimp on fibre glass 4birth plus two quarter births for smaller, more agile crew members. “Invictas are seakindly, knockabout cruisers that will keep a couple or a young family safe in all weathers and embarrass some modern boats with their speed” Yachting Monthly. Mast head sloop with long keel and encapsulated lead ballast - so no keel bolts to worry about. Good 2015 survey available. Good sails.

2018 UV strip on furling headsail/ Genoa. Lazy jack system for the mainsail. Spinnaker I’ve never used because I usually sail on my own. Yanmar 1 GM10 Diesel engine. Reliable good starter.Simrad CE chart sounder.

Nexus NX2000 radio. Clipper Duet log and echo sounder. New leisure battery and reliable starter battery. Well appointed main cabin. Re-upholstered 2015.

Forward 2 birth cabin contains heads. New manual water pump. Origo double burner spirit hob. Electric and manual bilge pumps Main and kedge anchors. Deck jack stays and life lines.
