Yacht Club Bottling Works opened in 1915 with the goal of bringing a premium quality beverage to Rhode Island. A lot has changed over the last 95 years, but Yacht Club, The Official Soda and Water Company of Rhode Island, is still dedicated to providing premium quality beverages to Rhode Island and surrounding areas. Yacht Club only uses glass bottles for carbonated soft drinks. Glass, because it keeps the contents fresh and pure unlike any other container. Every drink produced begins with natural artesian water, from an artesian well drilled through the bedrock 180ft below the building, in 1923. The water is natural mineral water and has exceptional characteristics for carbonation. Its natural temperature is 45 degrees, which allows carbonation without the use of cooling towers that can be bad for the environment. Also the water naturally accepts 5.5 volumes of carbonation without alteration. This means NO SALT ADDED for carbonation. …

Ahoy soda aficionados - set sail to the tiny town of Centredale! Tucked behind a building you'll find the small parking lot for the Yacht Club Soda factory storefront. As you step inside, you're greeted by a cozy atmosphere with shelves of soda. They're stocked with an array of flavors from classic colas to ginger beer and old timey flavors They do have some diet sodas as well but in a more limited selection. I'm also in love with the countertop adorned with a mosaic of epoxied bottle tops and every time I come here I say, "maybe I could do that".

RI Food Fight- Wings 2024 offered a free 4 pack of soda from the Yacht Club. I have driven by this place 10,000 times and never been inside! Cute little store inside with every flavor, nice organized and clean. We handed over the coupon and we were allowed to make a 4 pack. Nice, easy transaction. I can share my husband and daughter split the Rhody Red last night at the dinner table. No complaints and thanks for the coupon!

visited as part of RI Food Fights July Iced coffee challenge. good option to pick up some old fashioned glass bottle soda. similar price to "big brand" sodas. offered some diet, calorie free/sparkling water selections. loved the historical, more traditional vibe. staff was very friendly.

Love the old school way they make the soda. When we have friends and family visit from out-of-town, they absolutely love it! I got my first taste of YC in the early 80s...loved it then, love it now!

This is a a family-owned and operated local manufacturer of soda. All the packing is done right here. You can choose to purchase your own variety pack as well. There are so many flavors to choose from! Michael was there and he gave us a tour of the factory and a history of where they started. He was very personable and it was amazing to hear about the process of making the soda. Highly recommend getting a tour from Michael if he is around. The soda is made with Pure Cane Sugar, so it is less sweet than regular sodas. All of them tasted really good. I can't say which is my favorite because I can't choose one.

Found this hidden gem the other day. I didn't even know it was there! We went to the factory store, which is part of the factory and though it is small inside, you have a plentiful selection. We took home some root beer, cream soda, of course, but also black cherry, lemon/lime, birch beer, pinapple, and they were all delicious. The person at the counter, had a lot of knowledge about the product and informed us they had been in business for over 100 years, which was cool to hear. They use real cane sugar and serve them in glass bottles. The person also had a lot of passion you could just tell by the way he was tlaking about it. I highly recommend stopping in to try some unique flavors. We wanted to get more, but thought what we got was a good start. We will definitely be back again to try out other flavors.

With 34 flavors, and only premium ingredients, it's no wonder Yacht club has been around for over 100 years. They are one of the very few soda brands that I will treat myself with from time to time. If you want to check out all their flavors, head over to their factory store and see what they have to offer. There is bound to be more than a few that you will fall in love with too.

I've always been a fan of Yacht Club Soda and love when I can get them when we are out and about! So awesome coming to the factory and making your own 4 or 6 pack or even a case if that's what you want! So many fun flavors to choose from!

I've always enjoyed drinking Yacht Club sodas, and really like coming down to the bottling (and manufacturing?) facility to pick up a few six packs and occasionally a case. Four stars not five solely because of the parking situation - the factory store is on that island, at the end of Mineral Spring Avenue where it turn into route 44. sure, there's a beautiful wide entrance on the Mineral Spring side heading toward Harmony - but you have to be absolutely certain to be in the left lane & pull in. Leaving, if you're headed back to PVD or Pawt, the quickest way is to go out the SUPER narrow driveway and cross fast moving traffic at the circle, hoping someone lets you into the right lane before they pull up to the traffic light. Still, the full catalog of soda, ginger beer, sparkling water, and lemonades can be purchased here. It's possible to customize your purchase with however man TV different flavors you'd like. The lightly flavored sodas (as compared to more syrupy-flavored mass-produced Coke & Pepsi) come in metal-capped glass bottles, returnable at the store. Four-packs will be corralled in a plastic carrying case for your convenience. Paper cases are available at no charge and old school wooden reusable cases are available for a modest fee. This is soda that tastes like real soda should. The Rhode Red is a highly recommended suggestion btw; other favorites are grapefruit, the darker ginger ale, oh and ginger beer for mixing adult beverages. Seasonal and speciality flavors are usually solid choices too, stocked in the display casto the left as you enter. I love the counter at the cash register - old bottle caps under a (yellowing) layer of polyurethane. During COVID, the doors to the factory have been closed during my last few visits, and only one party is allowed inside at a time.

I'm used to picking up Yacht Club sodas at the Hope St Farmers Market, but during the winter months Yacht Club can be found at this bare bones storefront in North Providence. The sodas are delicious and there's something for everyone, from classics like root beer, orange soda, and cream soda to more funky options like grapefruit and blue raspberry. I've tried at least 6 flavors now and they're all well-crafted. I don't see birch beer that often so I was excited to see that. They also have seltzers if you're not interested in sugary soda. The prices are really reasonable considering it's a local craft business! Highly recommend Yacht Club for all your soda needs!

R.I. soda pop presidential poll: A preference of politics or palate?

N ORTH PROVIDENCE, R.I. — With the Republican convention next week, and just five weeks remaining until the Democratic convention, many Americans can’t look away from the drama surrounding the expected rematch between President Biden and former president Donald Trump.

President Biden’s shaky debate performance last month only turned up the heat.

As the summer simmers across much of the country, it’s enough to make almost anyone thirsty.

For this week’s Rhode Island Report podcast, host Edward Fitzpatrick headed to North Providence, where Yacht Club Soda has recently launched its latest Soda Pop Poll from its bottling works in Centerdale.

It’s a rematch pitting Donald’s Trumpian Punch against Joe’s Bidenomics Berry.

Every soda sold is a vote for that candidate to become the “President of Soda Pop.”

To cool down on a hot day, Ed wanted to know, do customers reach for the red bottle or the blue bottle based on politics, or flavor?

Owner John Sgambato told the Globe that the raspberry-forward red fruit punch has been a strong candidate during the last two presidential elections. So this year, the family-owned business has ramped up the blueberry-raspberry flavor of the blue berry beverage, so it’s on par with the punch, Sgambato said.

But what if neither is up to your taste?

In the 2020 Soda Pop Poll , 11 percent went independent. That reflects customers who opted for the Gaspee Point Berrymelon Rebellion, a seasonal flavor that Yacht Club Soda brings back every summer, an homage to the Rhode Islanders who burned the schooner HMS Gaspee in 1772 leading up to the American Revolution.

“We use that as our independent vote because it’s a rebellion, like the Independence of Rhode Island,” Sgambato said.

Results of the 2024 Soda Pop Poll will be released in the fall.
