The Salona 41 is a very sporty cruising boat, easily handled by a crew of two, and a real looker to boot. She is built to a high standard and is fitted with top of the range kit, including Harken winches. She has superb hull-keel strength from the lead keel being built over a steel skeleton which bolts onto the hull cage. PERFORMANCE Salona has sold yachts to sailors who have competed in the Sydney-Hobart Race, which gives some idea of their performance. But she holds her sail well, is easily driven and effortlessly sailed short-handed. AT THE HELM Twin carbon fibre wheels are mounted astern of her German mainsheet system: a necessity for such a tall rig so the helmsman can reach the Harken 40, two-speed self-tailers. DESIGN & CONSTRUCTION The vacuum infused hull comprises a solid laminate on the bottom and hand- laminated polyester elsewhere. There are watertight bulkheads in bow and stern. SAILPLAN She has a fully-battened mainsail and genoa carried on a rig which sports double spreaders and rod rigging which can be tuned via the adjustable backstay, thanks to stiffening from the boat’s internal frame. DECK LAYOUT The open-backed cockpit is a popular modern feature, although a little exposed with only wire guardrails to stop the helmsman toppling backward into the boat’s creaming wake. LIVING BELOW She’s stylishly finished with excellent details on the teak finish, but could do with grabrails in front of the nav station and galley. The reading lights cannot support their own weight and flop down. CHART TABLE When the boat was heeling on starboard tack I slid off the navigator’s seat. The only way I could stay on station was to swivel round and brace myself against the bottom step of the companionway. GALLEY The galley to port has a lot of worktop space with a gimballed, stainless steel, twin-burner oven and grill, top loading fridge and twin stainless steel sinks with hot and cold water. A bum strap would not go amiss. HEADS Cupboards in the head open up to reveal the anatomy of the boat: discharge pipes, holding tank and plumbing. The latter could be tied back and a shelf fitted for useful stowage. There is a fully drained wet locker. MAINTENANCE The seacocks are either inside cupboard doors or under the bunks and easy to access. The engine is accessed from piston-operated companionway stairs. The bilge pump is self-priming.
I would be surprised if Salona did not become a household name among British sailors over the next decade.

This Salona 41 is built in Vinylester and equipped with special designed Cossutti racing keel with draft of 2.15m. Second owner. Every year she was stored in a heated shed and meticulously maintained by her owner.
Now she is stored inside a shed, you are welcome to come and inspect her.

Designed by J&J in collaboration with the in – house Salona development team and with special planning input sought from Maurizio Cossutti, the Salona 41 represents a real team achievement. This sailboat is indeed the hybrid offspring of a high performance racer and a pleasure cruiser. It is the kind of sailboat that races like a demon, cruises like a charm and delights sailors who refuse to compromise on form or function. Sporty appearance is created by a number of well presented details that are the trademarks of this accommodating cruiser, including a full German mainsheet layout, twin steering wheels, sheets and lines that run on covered channels for a clean deck. An easily adjustable Genoa and mainsheet system helps with sail trimming and allows for the Genoa to be furled without the need of a crew forward to adjust the leech. This coupled with the single line reefing mainsail empowers the cockpit with total control of the vessel. The beautifully arranged Harken under deck genoa furler maximizes the Genoa sail area to 140 % and in conjunction with low displacement, optimizes cruising even at wind speeds less than 5 knots, it is a boating pleasure. Interior arrangement has been built with on board living in mind. The ambience below deck is a mixture of spaciousness and comfortable head room -195cm. The standard layout (A) offers a well equipped port side galley, a comfortable salon area, and full size navigation station. There is a very spacious owner’s cabin, large stern heads and comfortable double aft cabin as seen in the owner’s cabin, equipped with three hatches, two big under seat lockers with large shelves above and a full size 210 cm berth.

A licence is required to sail this boat, you check the list on our page “Acceptable licences in Croatia” . However, if you and your crew do not have a boat licence you can easily add a skipper at the checkout. Similarly to renting a car, chartering a boat requires a security deposit. The deposit, refundable after check-out, covers you and your fellow passengers against accidental damage and ensures that contractual obligations are met. The security deposit varies in value depending on the model and brand of the boat. It will be returned to you after the boat has been inspected and is deemed undamaged. You can choose to purchase the refundable security deposit, or pay a one-off deposit waiver fee instead.
We have partnered with Pantaenius and EIS to provide a range of additional insurance options for your charter.1) Charter deposit insurance - secures the security deposit in the case of loss or damage to the chartered boat as a result of a naval accident.2) Cancellation insurance - covers the cancellation cost in case of sudden serious illness, accident or death.3) Charter payment insurance - covers against the potential insolvency of the charter company; boating accidents occurring before the rental period or sinking. It also provides insurance in the case of the charter not being able to provide the boat selected at booking or an alternative vessel!

You can get in touch with the skipper as soon as you’ve completed your booking. Our skippers are highly qualified and knowledgeable about their locality. They all speak English. The skipper is to be payed in the marina at the check in (for crewed charter, the crew is already included in the price)
A Transit Log is a variable payment, which can include the following: bed linen, cleaning, on-board Internet connection, tourist tax and base marina fees. The details of the Transit Log differ depending on the boat, location and charter partner. Once you choose your boat, our team will be able to outline the specifics of the Transit Log associated with your booking.
There are marina fees and fuel costs which vary depending on the type, duration and location of your sailing holiday. Marina fees need to be paid at each marina you choose to dock overnight – the amount varies but you may be able to find this information in advance by contacting the marinas directly. Fuel costs depend on whether you’re you like to sail or go with the motor. Here is the example of all obligatory and optional costs for one of the catamarans . CATAMARAN: 3,735.00 € Standard charter pack: 170.00 € (OBLIGATORY) Tourist tax: 1.30 € per person per day (OBLIGATORY) Skipper: 700,00 - 1,050.00 € (OPTIONAL) Hostess: 600,00 - 910.00 € (OPTIONAL) And here are some estimates expenses: Fuel est.: 250 – 350 € Mooring fees est.: 200 – 400 € Presuming that most of the nights will be on the anchor or mooring buoy. Some people will go entire week with only 150 € spent on mooring fees. It also depends on the weather. It is safer to be in marina if there is a storm. Food: 450 €+ (provisions for boat + skipper) Please note that this does not include dinners in restaurants. Meals in restaurants are 15 € for pizza and soft drinks, while full meals are 25-35 € per person. VAT is included in all the prices.
