Worth Every Penny

Coming from the Midwest, I have only seen such species in aquariums. I was able to see them in their natural habitat and so close that I could hear their blowholes and sounds they were making to each other. The captain was really attentive towards finding activity, and the tour guide did an excellent job when explaining the mammals as we were seeing their interaction and behavior. Moreover, the vessel had plenty of room to move around and facilities for those that don’t have sea legs. Awesome experience!

I’d like to thank you for all you did for us Nikki. You were great on our initial contact and on getting us a quote in a timely fashion and then right into the arranging of the event with my wife. But then you stayed in constant communication with us up until the boat left the dock. You don’t know how important that is for us customers who are so stressed about everything coming out right. The party on Saturday was

The party on Saturday was beyond anything I could have hoped for. I had been so worried about how things were going to work out but I have to say this party was perfect in every way! The food was fabulous and although I had originally wanted a sit down meal, I think doing the Mexican finger food was actually much better. It gave a chance for people to get food when they wanted and to move about and mingle at their own pace. The entire staff was so wonderful. They were always there to help if needed and they were so friendly. I also wanted to thank you for helping to make this all happen. I knew that I couldn’t let Dan’s retirement pass without some kind of celebration and Harbor Breeze Cruises was the perfect option for this celebration. Thank you again so much. You were such a pleasure to work with. By the way, Dan was indeed very surprised and had such a great time. Thank you for a party we will never forget

I especially loved the Wealth of knowledge the captain had in regards to Villa Riviera on Ocean Blvd in Long Beach and it’s roll with the U.S. Navy in WWII Which was amazing for the Vets. You guys were all fantastic! Vanessa (bartender) was amazing. She even helped me set our centerpieces after I got stuck in traffic and ran a little behind. I didn’t get the gentlemen’s name, but one of the caterers (late 40s, Hispanic male) was attentive and ensured our special guest got her vegetarian plate.

Quality Service

My husband and I had our wedding reception on the Triumphant on Saturday, July 7, 2018 (Rich Cormier/ Raquel Jordan). Jared was the person that assisted us. We had several requests and he accommodated all of our requests from beginning to end. Every time we called Jared was always willing and able to answer our many questions. If there were any questions that he was unable to answer, he always followed up with us in a timely manner. His willingness to go above and beyond is commendable. We are grateful for the time and attention he gave us. Our wedding reception was absolutely beautiful, and we appreciate Jared and all that he did to ensure that our wedding reception cruise went smoothly. Thank you again Jared for providing quality service. We will definitely utilize Long Beach Cruises again and recommend LB Cruises to others and we will recommend Jared. We would also like to recognize the staff on the boat. From the captain to the bartenders (selected by Jared), the boat staff were polite and courteous to us and all of our family and friends. I think it’s important to do this after a day filled with activities, and a dinner cruise was perfeet! • Cruise was great. • Did not get seasick. Great views while we enjoy the dinner and cocktails. Food was limited but ok. Can’t remember if there were any music. Cheers to 30 years

I just wanted to THANK each and every person who helped make our cruise such a success! The amazing 5 level Yacht was just breath taking when we walked up. Then when we got to the upper deck and there was champagne waiting for us to do our “Cheers to 30 years” it was just beautiful. The sunset and all the people getting to socialize in such an amazing place, it was just priceless! Bartenders were great, quick and friendly! The food was delicious and there was plenty to choose from! We here at WAI would like to thank you for all you did for us, it was a night to remember!

We hope that the bar area did ok, the guest list was not as big as we originally thought cause we were worried about it being to crowded but it was not bad at all. We had a ball Sunday.

We had a ball Sunday. It was a very good experience. The one gentlemen with a lot of personality, I can’t remember his name but he had a great attitude, bubbly personality, very friendly. The bartender was great. Very nice and friendly, quiet, sweet young lady. Everyone loved the vessel. It was beautiful and large enough for our crowd. I loved the stadium seating at the front of the ship. This area was perfect for our games that we played, Family Feud and Deal or No Deal. I thought we were going to hook our mics into your PA system. But it worked out great anyway because we had karaoke going on in the main dining room and we had games going on the upper deck. It was so secluded each section that you could not disturb what was going on in one group versus the other. I thought that worked out perfectly. We definitely will use Harbor Cruises for our next party event. Thank you and your staff. Job well done.

I had an awesome time, as did the Chief, Lieutenant, Committee and most of the attendees. I enjoyed the food, as did my table, the Chief’s table, etc. The crew were fantastic! Captain was extremely personable, he kept me or the Chief informed of any plans and at the end wanted a picture with the 2 of us. I enjoyed working with you and thought that everything went well. Chief Velez said at the party that I will have a hard time topping this next year. Also, we had a Corporal and his date get stuck on the freeway, their GPS said they wouldn’t arrive until after 7:30, the Captain offered to pick them up at Alamitos, allowing us to set sail and them still to catch the boat, the caterers set aside food for them. I thought it was wonderful that they didn’t miss the boat! Again, thank you for everything!

The professionalism began long before the guests arrived, with the staff and crew at our disposal before the event. Nikki responds seconds after any requests. The Captain and crew are top notched – from the complimentary champagne, safety briefing, pointing out dolphins, serving the savory dishes, pouring wine for the guests and of course – serving the birthday cake! Two excellent Captains on board – what more can you ask for! Astronaut Island (Island Grissom & White)

See at least two of the four Astronaut islands on a private long beach charter. These man made isles were built in 1965 and measure 10 acres each. The islands were designed by Disneyland architect Joseph Linesch as part of a city beautification project to camouflage offshore oil derricks and muffle their sound. To disguise the industrial oil production, he added waterfalls, screens, and extensive landscaping along with the condo-style camouflage, and colorful lights at night. The islands are ringed by rocks from Catalina Island and filled with millions of cubic yards of material dredged from the bay. They are only decorated oil islands in the U.S.

High heels can be worn on some boats. On large party boats with 30+ guests it should be fine. It is not practical on the smaller boats as you will be walking around on different levels and materials and it can be dangerous. A better solution would be a pretty flat, a fancy sandal, or a short mule if you must.

What do I need to bring to a boat party?

For a boat party on a yacht it’s best to bring whatever will make you comfortable. Some guests like to bring an extra sweater, favorite snacks and drinks, sunscreen, sea sickness pills, and if it's a birthday party a gift for the host.

How soon in advance do I need to book a yacht for a party?

Our bookings are based on a first come first serve basis. To make sure your preferred date and time is available it's best to confirm the date and time as soon as possible.

How do I start a yacht party?

Gather everyone together and share a toast to get the party started. Then play the music and let everyone mingle around in the different corners of the boat. This will make a boat party come to life.

Am I expected to tip the captain and crew?

Gratuity is not included in the price and while not required it is always greatly appreciated. Any tips provided are split between the captain and crew.

Can I bring food and beverage aboard for a boat party?

Guests are welcome to bring food and beverage aboard.

Refreshments are not included in the pricing. Guests are welcome to bring their own food and drink.

What is a bareboat charter?

- A bareboat charter is a vessel that is leased by the owner to another person (a “charterer”) for a period of time without a captain or crew; - A bareboat charter is a vessel that is considered a recreational vessel and may not be subject to Passenger Vessel inspections by the United States Coast Guard; - Once the charterer takes possession of the vessel, the charterer becomes entirely responsible for the safe navigation of the vessel and its passengers; - The owner of the vessel is generally not responsible for any collision, personal injuries, and wages for the crew - The charterer is responsible for the vessel’s crew, fuel, insurance, any maintenance and repairs, and any liability associated with use and possession of the vessel; - The charterer must have the option of selecting and paying crew and may discharge the master or any crew member without referral to the owner; - The owner may require general levels of proficiency for the crew that is retained based on federal statutes; and - Charterers and passengers are solely responsible for making sure they understand and agree to the terms of any bareboat charter agreement.

Carnival Panorama Sets Sail on 18-Night Cruise to Japan

The Carnival Panorama is sailing from its homeport in Long Beach today for an 18-night cruise to Alaska and Japan.

The unique open-jaw itinerary sails to Yokohama, a port near Tokyo, and features six ports of call.

Part of Carnival Cruise Line’s Carnival Journeys concept, the cruise starts with visits to three destinations in Alaska: Ketchikan, Sitka and Icy Strait Point.

Before crossing the Pacific Ocean, the 4,000-passenger vessel is also set to offer scenic cruising at the Endicott Arm Fjord.

Following eight full days at sea, the ship is scheduled to arrive in Asia for the first time, visiting Otaru and Aomori, in Japan.

The voyage is then set to end at the Osanbashi Yokohama International Passenger Terminal on September 10, 2024.

Completing five years of service in 2024 , the Carnival Panorama is scheduled to enter drydock in Asia before returning to North America.

In addition to routine maintenance and class work, the 135,000-ton ship is expected to receive Carnival’s new livery during the shipyard stay, as well as occasional upgrades to its public areas and cabins.

After the completion of the work, the Carnival Panorama is set to offer an even longer trans-Pacific itinerary.

Sailing in the opposite direction, the 25-night voyage sails from Singapore to Long Beach on Oct. 12, 2024.

The repositioning voyage is highlighted by visits to Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam, Kota Kinabalu in Malaysia, Manila in the Philippines and Guam in the Mariana Islands.

Before arriving back in California, the Panorama is also scheduled to make its debut in Hawaii with an overnight visit to Honolulu.

On Nov. 5, the ship resumes its regular schedule of cruises to the Mexican Riviera. Sailing year-round from Long Beach, the six- to eight-night itineraries feature visits to Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlán, Puerto Vallarta, Ensenada and La Paz.

The “devastated” mentor of the luxury Manhattan jeweler who vanished when the Bayesian yacht sank off Sicily spoke with her protége days before the tragedy — and admitted she has little hope that the missing passengers will be found alive.

In an exclusive interview with The Post, goldsmith Cecelia Bauer recalled inviting Neda Morvillo to a luncheon with fellow jewelers on Monday, the same day the superyacht capsized off the coast of Palermo.

Morvillo, who has a fine jewelry business in Midtown, and her lawyer husband Christopher Morvillo are among the six people who went missing during the tragedy.

But officials are holding out hope they may be trapped in the ship alive, surviving on air pockets 160 feet below the surface.

“I’m totally shocked,” Bauer said upon learning her former student and Morvillo’s husband were aboard the doomed yacht.

“I’m devastated because I can’t believe she’s one of the missing. It doesn’t look good … I would find it hard to believe that anyone has survived this long.” 

Bauer told The Post she trained the missing jeweler approximately 20 years ago.

A website for Morvillo — who goes professionally as Neda Nassiri — credits Bauer as her mentor.

“She was a student of mine,” Bauer said. “She came to my studio and she studied with me for many, many years, and she was able to go out on her own, and get her own studio and a place to work.

“She became a very close friend. She’s very dear to me. And this news is just absolutely devastating.”

Morvillo declined Bauer’s lunch invitation over the weekend but didn’t offer a reason why.

“She said that she wasn’t going to be able to come,” Bauer explained, adding that she had “no idea” Morvillo had been sailing the Mediterranean Sea on a superyacht. 

Bauer described Morvillo as “very upbeat, very happy,” and “incredibly smart.”

“She was glad to help anybody out that she could,” Bauer said. “She was extremely generous…She was very special.”

Bauer explained that she met Christopher Morvillo only on several occasions, but recognized him as a “really nice fella” who was “very well connected.”

Christopher Morvillo was the couple’s ticket onto the yacht as they were celebrating British tech tycoon Mike Lynch ‘s win in his longstanding fraud trial earlier this summer.

Lynch, the owner of the yacht, and his 18-year-old daughter are also lost at sea.

“It’s all just pretty horrible,” Bauer added. “I don’t even know what to say, it’s so terrible. I can’t imagine what her family [is going through],” the grieving goldsmith said.

Neda and her husband have two daughters, Sabrina and Sophie, who were due to fly out to Italy and spend time on the luxury boat before it sank.

“He was so excited about the trip,” fellow attorney  David Oscar Markus wrote in a blog post after discovering the couple was missing. 

“He couldn’t wait for his daughters to meet up with him and his wife. I am so thankful the girls had not yet arrived when this tragedy struck.”

Christopher Morvillo’s mother has holed up in her Long Island home eagerly awaiting developments, according to neighbors.

“Cathy is distraught, she is holding out hope they are still alive,” a neighbor told DailyMail.com Tuesday.

“It’s heartbreaking. We are waiting with bated breath,’ the person said. ‘It’s a wonderful family and we are all grieving along with them. His mother still has hope that there’s some chance her son and daughter-in-law are alive.”

Italian divers were exploring the sunken Bayesian late Tuesday after using jacks to smash the 1¹/₄-inch-thick glass, according to local reports.

They reached the common areas of the 184-foot luxury vessel, but have not yet made it to the cabins — where one expert theorized the missing passengers might be trapped, but alive.

The search and rescue mission could take hours. Because of the depth, divers can only stay underwater for 12 minutes at a time.

The Bayesian capsized with 22 people — 10 crew members and 12 passengers — after it was suddenly struck by a freak storm around sunrise Monday morning, officials said.

Fifteen people managed to escape before the superyacht went down.

The ship’s Canadian-born chef Thomas Recaldo marks the only confirmed death in the tragedy.

In addition to the Morvillos and Lynch and his daughter, Morgan Stanley International chairman Jonathan Bloomer ad his wife, Judy, are still unaccounted for.
