While tenders remain a necessity for transport to and from the shore to your yacht , what kind of tender do you need when you want to go exploring?

The demand for chase boats has certainly increased tenfold in the past decade, as owners look to explore further afield while also expanding their toy list for increased fun. Whether your preference is for a custom-built chase boat to match the mother ship or a floating helipad to escort you to remote locations, there really is no need to settle for the middle ground when it comes to your superyachting experience.

Best for: Owning a coveted classic

Emblematic of the glamour of yachting, the Riva Aquarama is possibly the most stylish superyacht accessory available. Launched in 1962, this wooden speedboat firmly cemented its iconic status just a few years later when it became the day boat of choice for the Hollywood jet set and European royalty alike — the likes of Brigitte Bardot and Monaco’s Grimaldi family were regularly seen riding the waves along the coastline of the French Riviera .

Over the next few decades, a total of 760 Aquaramas were built, 650 of which are still in use. This limited-edition number, combined with the quality of the original build, leaves the Aquarama as one of the most classic, sought-after tenders in the world. In fact, over the decades it has been named by the media as the ‘Best Runabout Ever’ and recently had an entire coffee-table book dedicated solely to the model (Riva Aquarama, published by Assouline ).

Riva even created a limited-edition Riva Anniversario in honor of Riva’s 180th anniversary in 2022, and as a tribute to the Aquarama. Taking cues from the beloved run-around, the Anniversario is a limited edition of just 18 models, making it almost as prestigious as its older sibling.

But back to the original: Aquarama’s appeal lies not only in its lofty status but its hand-built, highly varnished mahogany hull, curved lines, signature blue- and cream-colored leather upholstery, gleaming chrome, and well-thought-out detailing (for example, the transom slopes to allow for ease of access to the water, and the helm is oversized to assist fine steering at high speed — everything has been designed for hard use as well as good looks). It may be old, but the roaring twin engines still make it a fun and fast boat and one that, in good condition, can reach prices just shy of a million dollars.

Wajer 44, Wajer Yachts

Best for: Pocket yachting

In response to the growing popularity of superyacht owners using their tenders for day trips and extended journeys away from the mother ship, Wajer Yachts unveiled the sleek Wajer 44 day cruiser last summer. “The Wajer 44 has 50% more volume than the Wajer 38 and, at the same time, she’s more compact than the Wajer 55,” says Dries Wajer, managing director of Wajer Yachts.

The new model certainly packs a punch into its relatively small size — luxurious, fast, safe, dry, comfortable and ergonomic, she even has room for a double bed — and no creature comforts were jettisoned here. This Dutch builder is known for innovative design and technology, and the Wajer 44 features its Wajer Owners App concept, enabling owners to connect to their boat from an app. This means they can remotely check the anchor position, drop the hydraulic swimming ladder and prepare the air-conditioning — almost as if a crew member was preparing to welcome you back on board.

Aesthetically, the Wajer 44 also has a clean and timeless design that is instantly recognizable to anyone who knows her predecessors, in particular the Wajer 77, to which she bears the most resemblance. She’s not only good-looking, but incredibly capable: Powered by twin Volvo engines, the Wajer 44 can reach a maximum speed of up to 40 knots, has a comfortable (and very respectable) cruising speed of 26 knots, and boasts a 300 nautical mile range — so you can easily jump off the mother ship in Cannes and head down the coast to the golden isles of Îles d’Hyères for the day, returning to the gilded coastline for dinner. Just remember to download the Wajer Owners App before that champagne picnic lunch, though, or you might be struggling to get back on board.

Support Vessel, Damen Yachting

Best for: Over-the-top superyacht support

The benevolent and less glamorous older sister to the major vessel, the support vessel (or shadow boat, as it is often referred to) is designed explicitly for adventure and practicality. Whether required for long-distance cruising as a stand-alone vessel, or as a support vessel for carrying extra crew, aircraft and luxury toys, a support vessel is in effect a way to free up prime real estate on board the mother ship and offers owners more versatility.

On board a superyacht, luxury can cause functionality to be compromised, given that a yacht’s primary purpose is to cocoon its owners and guests in splendor. However, depending on the size of the vessel, this can come at a cost. It might seem that simply having a larger yacht to carry everything required in one space would be the solution for yacht owners looking to elevate the onboard experience, but the bigger the yacht, the bigger the equipment and crew requirements also — not only for operating the yacht’s critical functions but also for various toys and tenders. And the temptation is always there to use the extra space for larger, more comfortable cabins and saloons, or to add more features like spas and cinemas, which take up a lot of space.

Recognizing that a new generation of superyacht owners are looking to head off the beaten track while at the same time enjoying the option of more adrenaline-pumping activities, Damen was the first shipyard to create purpose-built luxury support vessels to boost and augment the capabilities of the yacht mother ship. The winning formula Damen created has resulted in the build of 22 unique support vessels to date. Damen calls this the “Smart Stretch,” referring to the fact that it is more economical to add a second yacht support vessel to an existing fleet than it is to upgrade, for example, from a 160-ft or 190-ft motor yacht up to a 295-ft one.

A hybrid between a support vessel and a stand-alone yacht, with grand saloons and guest accommodation, Damen Yachting’s support vessels offer the owner the versatility of a complete yachting solution. However, no matter how customized Damen Yachting’s support vessels are, what they do have in common is their capacity and practicality. First, Damen Yachting’s support models are based on the proven platforms of the patented axe-bow hull design, specifically developed to operate in the most challenging of environments.

Ranging from 148 ft up to 246 ft (to date), their carrying capacity and range away from the mother ship is immense. Large deck spaces provide storage for a multitude of watercraft, including various RIBs, day boats, whaleboats and dive tenders, fishing boats, sailboats, jet skis, and much, much more. And of course, not everything on board needs to be water-related. Owners can specify dive centers and carry everything from four-wheel-drive land vehicles, seaplanes and one (or even two) helicopters.

Compass Limousine, Compass Tenders

Best for: Custom cruising

Over two decades have passed since Compass Tenders realized the gap in the market for the ‘mini-me,’ a custom-made tender. Its quintessential Limousine line can be found accompanying (and in some cases, being carried on board) some of the largest yachts in the world , serving as a chase boat for owners who wish to explore further afield, or stored in the vast garages and large tender bays that can often be accommodated on larger megayachts.

Whether nodding to the characteristics of the mother ship to which they belong, or echoing the design, each unique Compass tender exemplifies superyacht style. “The tender often makes the first impression for the superyacht experience, and we strive to ensure that design detailing, styling and level of finish are akin to that of the mother ship,” explains Richard Faulkner, founder and CEO of Compass Tenders.

The Limousine line, which currently ranges from 30 ft up to 46 ft, features a curved coach roof with central glazing for shelter either from the sun or inclement weather, while the aft deck seating area is equally luxurious for fun while racing over the waves. J Craft Torpedo, J Craft

Best for: Style and substance

Designed in a similar style to Riva’s Aquarama, J Craft’s Torpedo is a stylish chase boat, handcrafted for the most sophisticated of superyacht owners. But the looks are really where the similarities end. With as much emphasis on performance as there is on vintage aesthetics, beneath the highly varnished, mahogany exterior is a modern fiberglass- and resin-infused planing hull, designed specifically to house a pair of powerful and hi-tech Volvo Penta engines. The latter allows the Torpedo R (with a maximum speed of 42 knots) and the speedy Torpedo RS (with a maximum speed of up to 47 knots) to handle a wide range of offshore conditions — which is especially reassuring, considering the first test drive is in the rough waters of the Baltic Sea.

Additionally, thanks to modern engineering at its finest, the Torpedo also provides the mother ship with a smooth and comfortable support vessel — and when first impressions count, how better to escort guests to the yacht for the first time? This is where the J Craft Torpedo excels. Its long, lean lines are finished in an abundance of lacquered wood, while the upholstery, handmade cabinetry and luxurious finishes are a tactile style triumph.

What’s more, the J Craft Torpedo has been designed to double as a self-sufficient mini-yacht, with accommodation space for up to four guests and a captain to stay on board — a dream for those who long to experience adventure on the high seas. One day you could be chasing your own yacht along the coastline of the French Riviera, while the next you could be heading off for a long weekend jaunt to Sardinia.

For example, it takes more than 8,000 man-hours to build a single tender; it’s an unhurried and exacting artisanal method by talented J Craft craftsmen that guarantees the kind of exclusivity and quality demanded by superyacht owners. Since the Torpedo’s debut in 2009, J Craft has delivered 19 Torpedo Rs and three Torpedo RSes — so that is more than 176,000 man-hours in total just for these models. Tenders in a nutshell

A tender is a boat that services a larger vessel (referred to as the mothership ). It can take many forms and deliver a wide range of conveniences.

Historically called ‘ship’s boats, ‘ tenders have supported large vessels for centuries. They have been used for guest transfers, refuge boats, landing crafts, stowed on deck or towed astern—little has changed! 

Whilst the vast majority of tenders employed by smaller yachts are typically rigid inflatable boats, the modern-day superyacht considers a multitude of vessels indispensable.

Hull categories

We’ve been specialising in building boat tenders for over a decade, yet with such a degree of cross-over and with a seemingly endless request for custom configurations, categorising tenders remains a challenge.

Nonetheless, at the top-most level, we categorise all tenders under one of the following three hull types:

Fully Inflatable A lightweight vessel relying solely on inflation for buoyancy. 

Rigid Inflatable A vessel with a hull constructed from rigid materials such as aluminium or fibreglass, supported with an inflatable or foam collar for added buoyancy in high seas. 

Rigid   A fully rigid hull without a buoyancy collar of any type.

What is an open tender?

An open tender is principally a single-deck boat with no enclosed cabin. Chiefly a guest transfer boat with ample seating both forward and aft, open tenders are day boats without accommodation above or below deck.

While we see many open tenders dedicated to guest transfers, by their very nature, they can also incorporate centre console boats, some dive boats, landing crafts, and even limousines.

What is a chase tender?

As the name suggests, a chase tender—which can also be an open tender—follows the mothership.

Chase boats can take on many guises since their main attribute is size. As a result, they are generally not stored on board but instead towed astern.

Often very angular in design, with excellent seaworthiness, chase boats need to be able to withstand the rigours of being towed by the mothership. Whilst a lot of large chase tenders can be operated entirely independently, towing very long distances (such as transatlantic) is not advised.

What is a classic tender?

Tenders with the hallmark of classic design are styled with an exquisite, continuous line from the head to the heel.

Echoing the lacquered freeboards of a Riva Ariston or the flawless veneers of a Hinckley picnic boat, a modern classic from the likes of J Craft or Wajer will feature a gracefully tapered form, avoiding right angles altogether.

What is a foiling tender?

Combining thrust with lift (as an aeroplane does), high-speed tenders have the opportunity also to become airborne.

Less drag, higher speeds and lower energy consumption are the key advantages, although from a guest comfort perspective, being elevated above a big swell scores very highly.

What is a catamaran tender?

Largely associated with utility boats, catamaran tenders (not to be confused with catamaran sailboats) present superyacht owners with a number of major advantages over their mono-hulled counterparts.

Favoured as a utility vessel, a twin-hulled catamaran can be built much wider than an equivalent-length vessel with a mono hull. It offers increased stability and, therefore, a more comfortable ride in bigger seas. Thanks to a smaller surface area, there’s also less drag, which results in faster speeds and higher efficiency.

What is a dive tender?

We build tenders optimised specifically for scuba diving, however, given the range of crossover in the market, the likes of amphibious boats, beachlanders, some centre consoles, landing crafts, open tenders, RIBs and utility boats can also work perfectly well for diving.

Storage, floor space and, most importantly, the convenience of easy access to the water are key attributes of a versatile dive boat tender.

The right tender for the job

So far we’ve categorised our tenders — now to define which tender is best suited to which scenario.

Amphibious Tender

Sharp stones, steep drop-offs, inclement weather, and changing tides needn’t worry your crew when you have the luxury of an amphibious tender. Visit almost any secluded cove or spit with virtually no risk of becoming stranded or beached.

Go where other boats simply wouldn’t dare, landing on shorelines in rough breaks and on rugged terrain. Be sure to do your homework, though, as most beaches and marinas will require permission to stroll out the sea on an amphibious tender.

Beachlander Tender

We are all about time spent on the water, but the sensation of stepping off a tender onto the warm sand is in itself a joy to behold. We don’t mean clambering over the side of a rib and bouncing awkwardly into the shallows. We mean stepping from a dry boat onto dry sand.

Whether you intend to spend the day in your swimmers or are off for an island excursion, getting wet feet before you begin should be a choice.

Classic Daysailer

Center Console

Synonymous with the Florida Keys, the traditional centre console (or center console in the US), is typically a single-deck boat with the helm in the middle.

Geared towards recreational fishing, the centre console maximises the floor space while, crucially, allowing for full access around all sides of the boat. On smaller boats, seating is often sacrificed for floor space, while larger centre consoles fitted with cabins creep into the Sports Fisher sector.

Not intended to be an especially dry boat, both crew and guests are often exposed to the elements. The upshot is that centre consoles and, more so, sports fishers, tend to offer huge power, which is especially useful for long day trips from the mainland.

High-performance

‘Go-fast’ boats, as the name suggests, are built exclusively for speed. More commonly known as ‘cigarette boats’ due to their shape, go-fast boats are not for the faint-hearted. 

A craze immortalised by the Cigarette Racing Team, modern-day cigar boats can achieve speeds of over 100 knots. Largely impractical as a conventional superyacht tender, the range of high-performance boats have thankfully branched more into Centre Consoles. In turn, this presents superyacht owners with a high-performance chase boat of an almost unimaginable spec.

Landing Craft

The workhorse tender of any yacht is the Rigid Inflatable Boat (RIB). Robust, versatile, and highly manoeuvrable, RIBs typically offer speed, buoyancy, and good handling on high seas. 

A foam or inflatable collar provides extra buoyancy in the event of taking on water, while in the case of RIB boats —which have a high deadrise—also acts as a spray rail for keeping the deck dry. Popular with superyachts, RIBs can be towed or stowed and used for a wide range of purposes.

SOLAS Rescue Tender

In accordance with the International Convention for Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS), all ships over 500GT (typically 50m+) must carry at least one fully compliant SOLAS Rescue Vessel (and a complement of life rafts). The rescue vessel must be stowed onboard and cannot be towed astern or located on a support vessel.

SOLAS Rescue Vessels must be able to carry five seated persons and a person lying on a stretcher. They must also have an automatic self-righting capability and the engine must be restartable following a capsize. Stable in a seaway (and deployable when the mothership is doing 5 knots), rescue boats may be either rigid or inflated and need to be operable in water that is 1-30°C. They also need to be able to start in -30°C air temperature.

First adopted in 1914, the SOLAS Convention was initiated as a direct response to the Titanic disaster. The Convention in use today is often referred to as the “SOLAS, 1974, as amended”.

SOLAS Lifeboats

Painted bright orange—or Pantone 144—a lifeboat can have a LOA no less than 7.3m.

Sports Fisher

A close relative of both the Central Console and High-performance categories, a Sports Fisher is a dedicated recreational fishing boat. Despite the wide range of boats within this category, the Flybridge Sports Fisher is the most synonymous with the name. 

Large boats, often up to 25m, the archetypal fisher is perfectly suited to lengthy, deep-sea fishing trips. Typically built with berths, heads, a galley and a tower (perhaps even a live bait tank, too), a Sports Fsher is for serious big game fishing enthusiasts.

It’s quite a commitment for a superyacht when a large open or utility tender with rod holders would probably be just as effective if big game fishing was less of a priority.

Utility Tender

Gig Harbor Boat Works is the builder of a unique line of premium small boats for rowing and sailing. Our yacht tender dinghies are modern fiberglass versions of traditional working boats, used by people who earned their living using only wind and oar.

Back in the days of working sail, a good ship-to-shore dinghy could make or break the tradesmen who ferried cargo and passengers from tall ships into port. A dinghy had to be tough, stable, and forgiving in a variety of weather conditions. 

We’ve updated these classic designs in lightweight yet durable fiberglass composites. The result is a convenient, low-maintenance tender that is easy and fun for modern boaters to use. While you can use our dinghies with an outboard motor for quick ship-to-shore runs, the fantastic rowing and sailing performance also makes for a boat you’ll enjoy in its own right.

Our Best Yacht Tenders

Every dinghy in our model line has both rowing and sailing capabilities. All can be paired with a 2hp outboard motor. 12' Point Defiance

An incredibly versatile dinghy equally well-suited to rowing or sailing, beamy enough for comfort while fishing or crabbing. No sliding seat, but can be rowed solo or tandem on fixed seats. With a 4-person capacity, it’s popular for families with kids or as a tender for larger yachts.

10' Navigator

Designed for optimal sailing and rowing performance, and can be used as a yacht tender for up to 3 people at a time. A convenient size for suspending from davits or sidemounting on your yacht’s transom, and excellent for towing. Weighs only 90 lbs in standard fiberglass, or 75 in our lightweight kevlar foam-core composite!

9.5' Captain's Gig

Our most stable small dinghy, particularly when paired with inflatable sponsons . Ideal for motor or trawler yachters who still want to get out rowing or sailing.  The broad transom makes the boat feel less “tippy” than other traditional dinghies, and also makes it great for outboard motoring.

8' Nisqually

The best-performing 8′ rowboat you’ll find anywhere, hands down. Can transport up to 3 people and weighs only 75 lbs in standard fiberglass, or 65 lbs in our lightweight kevlar foam-core composite. If you’re short on space and are limited to an 8′ tender, this is the one you’ve been looking for.

14' Whitehall

The classic ship-to-shore vessel originally designed to transport cargo and passengers on New York Harbor in the 1800s. Tracks exceptionally well for efficient rowing that makes the most of each pull on the oars. Our version includes a built-in sliding seat, ideal for rowing for pleasure or exercise.

Our tenders are made for more than just good looks… they’re built for folks who really want to get out there and enjoy everything that life on the water has to offer. For instance, our rugged designs, durable fiberglass construction, and low maintenance finishes are ideal for yacht owners who don’t want to fuss over their tender… yet want it to be ready for action when you are.

Our standard dinghies come with a durable vinyl trim  — but wood trim upgrades are available for those who prefer some showstopping brightwork to complement your mother ship.

The 49.5m/162'5" 'Khalilah' motor yacht built by the American shipyard Palmer Johnson is available for charter for up to 11 guests in 5 cabins. This yacht features interior styling by American designer Palmer Johnson.

Motor yacht Khalilah boasts a wealth of convivial spaces, perfect for luxury yacht charters with families of friends, offering ample opportunities to kick back and relax, or enjoy the water on the yacht's array of water toys, the choice is yours. She is equipped with underwater lights and beach club.

Guest Accommodation

Khalilah is great for families thanks to her child-friendly setup. Built in 2015, She offers guest accommodation for up to 11 guests with a layout comprising a master suite, one VIP cabin, one double cabin and one twin cabin. There are 7 beds in total, including 2 king, 2 doubles, 2 singles and 1 pullman. She is also capable of carrying up to 9 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht charter experience.

On your charter, you'll find plenty to keep you busy and entertained including a beach club for you to relax on the edge of the water. Retreat to the deck jacuzzi and soak up the scenery.

Whatever your activities on your charter, you'll find some impressive features are seamlessly integrated to help you including the underwater lights, adding spectacle and style after dark. Take advantage of the on board Wi-Fi and stay connected at all times and guests will experience complete comfort while chartering thanks to air conditioning.

Performance & Range

Khalilah is built with a carbon fibre hull and carbon fibre superstructure. Powered by twin MTU engines, she comfortably cruises at 18 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 24 knots with a range of up to 1,500 nautical miles from her 40,000 litre fuel tanks at 24 knots. With a shallow draft of 1.9m/6'3" Khalilah can anchor closer to coves and sheltered bays overnight.

Charter yacht of the week: the 72m full-volume yacht packed with quiet spaces

Each week, we place a spotlight on the world’s finest superyachts for charter . This week, BOAT looks at the 72.1-metre Stella Maris , which was delivered in 2013. Her striking profile and masculine design have always provoked interest in the industry, yet her charter potential remains second to none…

She’s more than 10 years old, yet the 72.1-metre VSY superyacht is still a definite head-turner with her beefy hull and cool gun-metal colour scheme. Delivered in 2013, she was an almighty achievement for the relatively young shipyard at the time, not just in design, but technologically too. Today, she remains a fabulous fleet member and a versatile yacht for charter with plenty of tricks up her sleeve.

Stella Maris has been credited for her technologically advanced systems that reduce environmental impact, including the sewage treatment plant, double soot scrubbers on all engines and advanced solutions such as the dynamic positioning system to avoid anchor damage to the seabed.

The yacht’s exteriors were penned by Espen Øino, who set out to create exteriors that would strike a “perfect balance between form and function, innovation and technology, comfort and aesthetics.” Her hull colour (also carefully selected to follow this set of criteria) is a DuPont Metallic Grey . It's beautiful from the outside, but it all makes sense when you step on board.

The yacht's interior is certainly contemporary but filled with interesting features such as blue marble bathrooms, twin hot tubs, and an enclosed garden that extends over two decks. The interior was styled by Michela Reverberi and has a calm and neutral colour palette with interesting accents that you don’t see too often across the charter market.

Stepping on board, you’ll notice the unusual arrangement first, followed by the huge windows and then the interesting use of colour that infuses the space. Flecks of green work their way into the hand-tufted rugs and wall coverings, a nod to the impressive glass-covered vertical garden that spans over two decks. The jungle-like vertical garden also functions by filling up a vibration-laden space to create a calming atmosphere. This is one of two aft saloons, both of which are surrounded by glass.

Stella Maris has a volume of 2,114GT and together with Laurent Giles Naval Architects , Øino, the owner and the build team were determined to use every bit of it. On the charter market, this is a great benefit with huge amounts of space for families, friends, or corporate charters. Free from clutter, the spaces on board feel light and open, which was the intention with glass tables, so they wouldn’t obstruct the feeling on board.

Central in the yacht is an elegant glass lift wrapped by a wide staircase. It’s a little different from your standard superyacht lift too, with no car that goes up and down. Instead, it has a platform that slides up and down in a glass tube.

Life on board Stella Maris

Accommodation on board is for 12 with the main deck forward given over to the guest cabins. This includes four doubles and two twins with an almost identical layout – another good charter asset, eliminating any potential arguments on cabin choice.

Located above the bridge is the owner’s deck, which opens into a lobby with an office before a central dressing room. An Ottoman is flanked by two stylish Brazilian blue marble bathrooms port and starboard before the bed, forward which is set before a semicircle of floor-to-ceiling windows. The principal charter guest also has access to a private deck.

To ensure a relaxing atmosphere on board, VSY had a specific noise target in mind: silence, which was quantified as 46 decibels at 15.5 knots in sea state 2. Because glass can amplify the resonance of the engines, VSY contracted a US-based acoustic expert to make this happen.

Guests can access a menu of services and information from anywhere aboard. Tap the screen and it’ll show the yacht’s route and when she plans to drop anchor. Also, the crew can let guests know when the pool will be filled, heated and ready, when massage openings are and even if guests would like breakfast delivered to their cabin.

Wellness on board was a big focus in the initial brief and came to fruition in the form of two spa pools, a sauna, a hammam, a dedicated massage room and a gym all within the lower deck beach club.

Cayman Islands: M/Y Eos is a is one of the largest private sailing yachts in the world at 93m. Munson designed and constructed this tender to fit into one of the its unique tender wells. Outfitting includes a 4-into-1 lifting system, fresh water wash down with shower wand, stereo, flip out dive ladder with removable stainless-steel embarkation pole, fold-down seats as well as port and starboard boarding points with collapsible steps and removable stainless-steel grab rail for easy egress and ingress.

Fort Lauderdale, FL: This Munson serves as a yacht tender with single point lifting system. Boat is used to transport two Suzuki DRZ 400 motorcycles, crew and misc. gear. Majuro, Marshall Islands: M/V SuRI is a 201ft motor yacht that hosts Antarctic Peninsula cruises. They use Munson is used to transport a Yamaha Rhino UTV to shore. Other duties include crabbing, shrimping and lobster fishing responsibility. Four-way lifting eyes and a custom cradle allow her to be secured on deck, and inflatable Polyform fendering keeps the knocks at bay while tied alongside. A 48" T-top provides seating for two.

Pompano, FL: This nicely finished 23’ sport model is built for fun in the sun. Features include stand up paddle board racks, port & starboard side doors, bow door dive ladder, Flexiteek synthetic teak decking, 15 gallon fresh water washdown system, Yeti cooler, and underwater transom lights. Electronics include a Garmin 7212 plotter with radar, sounder, sat. weather, AIS, auto pilot, VHF and Kenwood KDC stereo with bluetooth and SiriusXM radio.

Valletta, Malta: This 24’ Munson serves as a yacht tender for the 77m superyacht M/V Yersin. Outfitting includes a four point lifting system, side boarding doors, anchor windlass with pulpit, dive bottle racks, dive ladder, trim tabs, battery charger, block heater and oil change pump. Electronics include a Simrad NSE8 plotter with integrated radar, sounder, class B AIS, and VHF radio. A canvas boat cover and cradle was supplied for storage on the mothership.

The Netherlands: This 28’ Catamaran Tender was built to service a Damen Exploration Yacht. Bahamas: The 30’ Monsoon lives aboard a 48 meter yacht to serve as a fishing, diving and beach tender. The cabin accommodates seating for up to 8 passengers and includes a head, galley and air conditioning. Flybridge controls with joystick piloting offers excellent visibility when navigating over shallow reefs. The main deck and rooftop are finished with SeaDek to keep surfaces cool in intense heat and sun. Cargo deck tie down pockets allow for transport of various motorcycles to and from the mothership. Additional outfitting includes four-point lifting eyes, port and starboard side dive doors, bow and stern dive ladders, dive bottle racks, push knees, tow post, anchor windlass and Hamilton Jet Blue Arrow MouseBoat maneuvering controller.

Cyprus: This 38’ Munson Yacht Tender lives aboard an 130m super yacht and is used to ferry cargo and personnel to exotic ports of call around the world. Outfitting includes an enclosed wheelhouse with air conditioner, bench seating for eight passengers, Maxilift M230 Deck crane, port and starboard side boarding doors, tow post, bow and stern anchor pulpits, tie down pockets, four point lifting system, hydraulic bow door, flip up deck seats, dive bottle rack and Raymarine navigation suite.

The beach club can be accessed directly from the guest cabins, making it a comfortable space that can be used whether the yacht is at anchor or underway.

Come Together’s vast 27m sun deck is a space you can spend all day in. A raised forward area is the ultimate bronzing zone, with large sunpads and loungers, while an inviting Jacuzzi is the perfect place to relax and unwind. A bar and extendable dining table for up to 18 guests are protected from the elements, allowing for dawn-til-dusk entertaining, all with stunning ocean views. When night falls, an open air cinema screen can be assembled for movie nights under the stars, or the party can continue 'till morning with the onboard DJ decks.

Where Can You charter Come Together?

In the summer season, which generally runs from May to September, Come Together is available to charter in the Mediterranean, including the French Riviera, Corsica and Sardinia and Italy. In the winter season, from November to March, you can book a luxury yacht charter in the Caribbean, with destinations including Antigua, St Barths and Mustique.

What does it cost to charter Come Together?

The cost to charter Come Together begins at 450,000 USD per week in winter and 450,000 EUR per week in summer, including accommodation and service. An extra Advanced Provisioning Allowance (APA) is usually paid in advance to cover your food, beverages and fuel, and the difference will be paid back following the charter

From the boards of Diana Yacht Design the YXT (Yacht X Tender) ONE is a revolutionary purpose built pocket support vessel for motor and sailing yachts. She is launched in 2014 and with her 24m in length this vessel is the perfect extension for any luxury yacht and a real eye catcher.

YXT One has a round high bow which gives her a though and sturdy look. Her wood, and trendy light and dark grey color palette for the exterior and interior give her a bright and fresh atmosphere. A feature on board of the YXT One is the Land Rover defender, the defender is stored under the deck so the car is protected against the weather and the salty sea water and in this way the entire deck can be used optimally.

Turn YXT ONE into a beach club, gym, sauna and spa, or use her as extra storage for toys and tenders or to sleep additional guests or crew. Dramatic footage shows couple rescued during storm on 40ft yacht

This is the moment police saved a terrified couple after an unexpected storm hit their 40ft yacht off the Essex coast.

Roy Harris and his partner Caroline Wilson were sailing in their yacht, the Samphire, when a storm took them by surprise.

Mr Harris and his partner had been sailing back to the River Crouch in Essex from Kent’s Isle of Sheppey last Sunday when an unforecasted storm damaged their yacht, which began taking on water.

After the yacht became damaged Mr Harris sent out a distress call requesting emergency assistance.

Essex Police’s Marine Unit was scrambled and found the couple near the Gunfleet Sands off-shore windfarm, four miles off Clacton.

Officers rescued the couple and brought both them and their yacht back to shore.

Sergeant Alex Southgate, PC John Perry and special constable Scott Mccabe were on Operation Wave-Breaker patrols in the force’s rib, Sentinel, when they picked up the distress call and rushed out to the Samphire.

Working with the Dover Coastguard Operations Centre, they located the yacht and rescued the distressed couple.

Mr Harris heaped praise on Essex Police’s maritime unit for saving their lives and admitted he wouldn’t have sailed had he known they would have hit a storm.

‘When Alex leapt onto the boat, touched my arm and said, ‘You’re safe now’, it was such a comfort,’ Mr Harris said. ‘I had been scared for my life. The officers should be recognised for their bravery – they don’t just nick criminals, they save people’s lives.

‘We sailed for six to seven hours in good conditions but then the water started whipping up and, when we turned into the Crouch, the wind caught the tender (dinghy) on the front of Samphire, the jib sheet broke, the ropes got tangled and water started pouring through the hatch.

‘I became exhausted very quickly and sent a PAN-PAN. I didn’t want to call for assistance because the airwaves were busy but I had no choice.

‘The Essex Police Marine Unit turned up out of the blue – I wasn’t expecting them at all. I can’t express my gratitude and appreciation enough. I feel like my life has been saved.’

Sgt Southgate added that the storm saw waves crashing over the Samphire, making their approach dangerous as it was a very windy day.

He added: ‘PC Perry’s skill and judgement at the helm enabled him to get Sentinel safely alongside.He timed everything perfectly with the wave movement and the rising and falling of the yacht to allow me to safely cross over and board the yacht.

‘Having done this, I was able to check the crew and ascertain that the skipper was suffering from severe sea sickness and was in a state of shock.

‘Once we’d checked everything over, I was able to take control of the yacht and steer it to the safety of Brightlingsea Harbour.

‘It’s great to know everyone’s got each other’s back at sea.’

Due to the stormy conditions and the Samphire’s damaged sail, the journey to shore took more than two hours on rough seas instead of the 45 minutes the trip would take in normal conditions.

Sgt Southgate added: ‘Thankfully, we were out on Operation Wave-Breaker patrols in the area that day and were able to locate Mr Harris and his partner in time.’

Essex Police’s Marine Unit runs Operation Wave-Breaker between April and September each year to tackle anti-social behaviour and promote water safety, mounting high-visibility patrols along the Essex coastline to keep those in the water safe.
