STAR CLASS VINTAGE GOLD CUP DAY 3

x yachts gold cup 2024

Sailors were hoping for more racing today

The winds did not develop as hoped. No races sailed

Lars Grael wins for the second year in a row

GULL LAKE, MICHIGAN – The Vintage Gold Cup and ISCYRA announce the final results for the 2023 Vintage Gold Cup. For the second day in a row all races were canceled; the results remain the same as after first day of racing. The winners of the 2023 Vintage Gold Cup are Brazilians Lars Grael and Mauricio Bueno with a 5-1-1 performance. Grael is now a back-to-back winner of the Vintage Gold Cup in his boat Star of the Sea.

In second place is local skipper Josh Powell and his crew Luke Lawrence of Stuart, FL with finishes of 1-8-3. In third is the Illinois team of Joe Londrigan and John Wysockey who finished 2-10-8.   FINAL RESULTS

The morning started out with a dense fog over the lake and no winds yet the forecast did call for light winds by 12noon. As the fog lifted, the sun came out and the wind tapered off. Two starts were attempted but both ended with general recalls. With no measurable wind nor any signs of such on the horizon, the race committee was facing a time-of-day deadline and canceled all racing for the day.

STAR CLASS VINTAGE GOLD CUP DAY 2

  • Races canceled for Day 2
  • Many activities for the sailors to participate on shore

GULL LAKE, MICHIGAN – The Vintage Gold Cup and ISCYRA canceled the three scheduled races for day two of the Vintage Gold Cup. Slight breeze was visible on the lake in the morning, with little to no pressure. As the clouds burned off, the sun came and took away the little breeze that was left on the lake.

The results are still as follows; Brazilians Lars Grael and Mauricio Bueno in first with a 5-1-1 performance on day 1.  In second place is local skipper Josh Powell and his crew Luke Lawrence of Stuart, FL with finishes of 1-8-3. In third is the Illinois team of Joe Londrigan and John Wysockey who finished 2-10-8.  Full results

Throughout the rest of the afternoon, sailors will be found golfing or playing pickle ball at Gull Lake Country Club, while some stay on the dock to sail remote controlled sailboats with their fellow competitors. This evening the Vintage Gold Cup will hold a “Meet the Boats” event to show the Gull Lake community the beauty these wooden Star boats have.

Three more races are scheduled for tomorrow.  The wind forecast, if correct, will remain light but sailors will remain hopeful to get at least one more race in.

STAR CLASS VINTAGE GOLD CUP DAY 1

x yachts gold cup 2024

GULL LAKE, MICHIGAN – The Vintage Gold Cup and ISCYRA announce results of the first day of racing in light and variable winds.  The three scheduled races were completed with very close racing.  At the top of the days result are Brazilians Lars Grael and Mauricio Bueno with a 5-1-1 performance.  In second place is local skipper Josh Powell and his crew Luke Lawrence of Stuart, FL with finishes of 1-8-3. In third is the Illinois team of Joe Londrigan and John Wysockey who finished 2-10-8.  For full results

Sailors knew going out that the lake was going to be tricky due to the light winds and its easterly direction.  The race committee was able to manage the shifty winds quite well, getting high praise from the sailors.

Three more races are scheduled for tomorrow.  The wind forecast, if correct, will make sailing even more challenging as the velocity declines from today.

X Yachts Aurum Cup 2024

x yachts gold cup 2024

The biennial X-Yachts Gold Cup has been a fixture on X-Yacht owners’ calendars for years, combining great racing and superb social activity, so extending the concept from Denmark to Australia was a natural progression.

Owners in Australia have gathered at the Middle Harbour Yacht Club in Sydney for the Aurum Cup, the brainchild of X-Yachts importer Kevin Wallis. Aurum is the Latin word for gold if you were wondering where the name came from!

x yachts gold cup 2024

The first day saw a 20 nautical mile passage race from Pittwater to Sydney on a stunning winter’s morning, with unbroken sunshine and a sometimes-fickle breeze. Concentrations was required, in an ‘eyes out of the boat’ race to make best use of the wind.

Steve Burcher, one of three sailors who own Trilogy, a new X43, described his day:

“We struggled a bit as our wind vane was damaged, so we didn’t know the true windspeed and direction, but we managed, and it was a lovely day out there. The wind was all over the shop, but it was good fun. Today was one of the first times we’ve used the Code Zero downwind, and we got a lot of performance out of it which was good.”

x yachts gold cup 2024

Steve and his fellow owners had been looking to retire, but somehow seem to be busier than ever, and have found the X43 ideal for their situation and time in life:

“We love the boat! We were looking for the ultimate racer-cruiser, and she ticked all the boxes for us. We’re still learning, and we’d all been racers before, so this is us getting back into sailing a boat that we thought would allow us to do that. We’re not spring chickens, and she’s a very comfortable boat, so we’re very happy with it. We have a couple of little luxuries, such as bow thrusters and electric winches, which are all very handy. It fits us perfectly.”

Sal Ridulfo is the owner of an IMX-40 called Xcalibur that he races successfully at the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club and had a superb day on the water:

“We started with an asymmetric spinnaker inside Pittwater, then gybed behind Blacksmith, an Xp50, and XS Moment, an Xp44, trying to make the most of the variable breeze.”

x yachts gold cup 2024

Sal is pleased with how his yacht is performing:

“We’re doing well, considering it’s a 24-year-old boat, but it’s solid as a rock. The steel grillage inside doesn’t go anywhere, and we have a carbon mast and boom, so it’s a beautiful boat with a superb performance. It’s a testament to the guys in Denmark that they can build a boat that can last that long.”

On the X-Yachts Aurum Cup Sal added:

“It’s a great initiative for a brand with such a high kudos in terms of ownership and quality.” Saturday sees two more races on Sydney Harbour, followed by Dinner and the Prize Giving Party at the Middle Harbour Yacht Club.

2024 Tour Championship leaderboard: Scottie Scheffler on top with Collin Morikawa, Xander Schauffele pressing

It has become a three-horse race at east lake golf club with 36 holes remaining at the fedex cup playoffs finale.

Round 2 of the 2024 Tour Championship on Friday brought some drama as Xander Schauffele and Collin Morikawa cut into Scottie Scheffler's lead in the FedEx Cup Playoffs finale putting pressure on the world's No. 1 golfer entering the weekend. Entering the second round with a seven-stroke lead, Scheffler saw his advantage cut nearly in half to four by day's end with Morikawa sitting right behind him and Schauffele standing five back as Moving Day approaches at East Lake Golf Club.

Morikawa, who was paired with Scheffler in Friday's final grouping, fired a field-best 8-under 63 to improve to 17 under. Schauffele, meanwhile, had the second-best outing of the day in the group as he finished with a 7-under 64 that was better than any score posted Thursday.

Scheffler was the man who posted that score with a Thursday-low 65, and while he was unable to match that score Friday, a 66 with only one bogey and six birdies ensured he still maintained a comfortable cushion between himself and the rest of the field.

With 36 holes to play, time is quickly running out for challengers to unseat Scheffler, but the weekend may bring with it some suspense. Sahith Theegala, Adam Scott and Wyndham Clark also stayed within striking distance; they sit seven strokes off the lead after big Friday rounds. That could set up an eventful finish from East Lake.

Let's take a look at the leaderboard's current form with the weekend on tap.

1. Scottie Scheffler (-20) : Scheffler's lead of seven strokes entering the day dwindled to just five with Morikawa and Schauffele surging. And yet, his second-round 66 Friday felt more impressive than his first-round 65 Thursday. He has previously failed to close out this event in the past despite holding significant leads, but Scheffler showed poise in pounding greens and escaping with just one bogey on the scorecard along with two birdies across his final three holes.

T2. Collin Morikawa (-17) 3. Xander Schauffele (-16) T4. Wyndham Clark, Sahith Theegala (-12)

Morikawa picked up Friday (four birdies on the front nine) where he left off Thursday (six birdies on the back nine). He went out in 31 and proved he would push Scheffler down the stretch. Schauffele, meanwhile, was relentless in his pursuit all day with a bogey-free 65. Theegala and Clark have a ways to go if they hope to make this tournament interesting, but after respective 5-under and 4-under rounds, they sit just seven off the lead and well within striking distance should Scheffler fall back this weekend.

Biggest movers

Up : Tony Finau quietly set the tone early in the day with a 66 to move up 12 spots on the leaderboard from 20th to T8. At 9 under, it would take quite a collapse from several guys at the top for him to be a real threat this weekend, but he's lurking in the shadows and could perhaps do more than that should he post another number in the mid-60s on Saturday.

Down : Keegan Bradley fell 17 spots down the leaderboard after Friday 74 that featured three bogeys in his final six holes. Bradley is coming off a win at the BMW Championship last weekend that moved him into the top five of the FedEx Cup standings, but a rough outing Friday moved him to 15 shots off the lead and out of contention for the championship.

Round 2 in the books

Friday's Round 2 play at the 2024 Tour Championship is officially wrapped with Scottie Scheffler -- surprise, surprise! -- once again comfortably leading the field.

Scheffler's lead of seven strokes entering the day shrunk to just four, though, thanks to an 8-under 63 from Collin Morikawa that moved him to within four of the World No. 1. Xander Schauffele got within five and slowly chipped away at Scheffler's lead, too, thanks to a 7-under 64.

Entering the weekend, Morikawa and Schauffele may be the only ones who can chase down Scheffler, but they proved Friday that they're more than just theoretical threats. With both lurking in striking distance and still 36 holes left to play, there's plenty of time for action over the next few days at East Lake to send us off as the FedEx Cup playoffs wrap.

Play set to resume at 6:50 p.m.

Round 2 of the 2024 Tour Championship, which was suspended at 5:15 p.m. ET due to inclement weather in the area, is scheduled to resume at 6:50 p.m. ET, per the PGA Tour. There are just four groups of two still out on the course at East Lake -- including leader Scottie Scheffler (-19), Xander Schauffele (-15), Collin Morikawa (-15) and Wyndham Clark (-12).

Play suspended in Round 2

Play was suspended at 5:15 p.m. ET in Round 2 at the 2024 Tour Championship due to inclement weather in the area. They blew the horns to get all the players and spectators off the course as a safety precaution, and there is no definitive time yet on potential resumption.

The pause comes with Scottie Scheffler -- who is part of the last pairing on the course and through 15 holes -- sitting at 19 under and leading by four strokes over Xander Schauffele and Collin Morikawa.

Top of the leaderboard looks like so with the round almost completed.

1. Scottie Scheffler (-19) T2. Xander Schauffele (-15) T2. Collin Morikawa (-15) T4. Sahith Theegala (-12) T4. Wyndham Clark (-12) T4. Adam Scott (-12)

Challengers emerging to Scheffler

Collin Morikawa, Wyndham Clark and Xander Schauffele are all 5 under on the round today and emerging as the potential challengers positioned best to track down leader Scottie Scheffler. Morikawa and Schauffele are both 14 under, while Clark is 13 under, which comes as Scheffler drops a stroke at the 13th to fall back to 19 under. Could get interesting leading into the weekend.

Scheffler makes the turn with pep in step

A shaky start to the day could've injected some doubt into Scottie Scheffler's ability to close the FedEx Cup -- which he's failed to do the last two years -- but he's made leading the Tour Championship by multiple strokes look like cake so far. Scheffler just made the turn with a bogey-free 3-under 32 to keep his lead at six strokes on Xander Schauffele and suddenly-surging Collin Morikawa. Schauffele and Morikawa are both at 4 under on the round but still not within striking distance with Scheffler keeping the field at arm's length for now.

Xander Schauffele has fantastic front nine

Leader Scottie Scheffler's grip on the lead has at the very least been threatened a smidge by World No. 2 Xander Schauffele, who after an opening-round 70 on Thursday just posted a 4-under 31 on the front nine to pull within six of Scheffler's lead. Schauffele made birdies at 3, 4, 6 and 8 and is on pace for the best round of the day, and perhaps the week. He struggled on the back nine in Round 1 yesterday so a good test of his mettle on deck down the stretch as we prep for the weekend ahead.

Scheffler steady as ever

If Xander Schauffele's fast start has struck a scare into leader Scottie Scheffler, he certainly isn't showing it. Scheffler just birdied No. 6 -- his second on the day after a birdie at No. 3 -- to move to 2 under on the day and again extend his lead back to six strokes. He then turned around and bombed a 363-yard drive on the par-4 7th -- nearly thirty yards deeper than his drive on the same hole in Round 1 -- to put him in position for another birdie before settling for par. Good start to the front nine of Round 2 for the World No. 1.

Schauffele storming back

Xander Schauffele came ready to rock in Round 2 as he's taken back multiple shots from leader Scottie Scheffler to move to within five strokes. Schauffele is 3 under through six and sitting 12 under with birdies at 3, 4 and 6. That's already matched his total count of birdies from Round 1, where he battled to an opening-round 70.

Scheffler's lead shrinks by one

Scottie Scheffler is already in the red today at 1 under through four holes but his lead has shrunk from seven strokes to six after a strong start early from Xander Schauffele. Schauffele is two under on the day thus far with birdies at Nos. 3 and 4, moving him to 11 under. Meanwhile, there's a trio of big names -- Collin Morikawa, Wyndham Clark and Sam Burns -- who are all at 10 under, T3 and seven off the lead.

Rory with two almost-makes with the putter on the front nine. This one at No. 1 was a gem that I thought might drop for birdie. He also just missed a shortie on No. 3 that would've been birdie. He's even on the day and yet somehow already licking some wounds. Going to need those to fall to chase down Scottie Scheffler, who is at 16 under.

Hovland burning edges early

Viktor Hovland is even on the day and has thus far failed to erase his 12-shot deficit on Scottie Scheffler, but it's not without trying. He's now burned two edges through his first six holes on birdie bids that just missed dropping. He's had a bogey and a birdie to remain at 4 under (even on the day) but he's a few inches away from being top-10 on the leaderboard with a spring in his step.

Rory McIlroy, Justin Thomas begin their days

Rory McIlroy and Justin Thomas -- a combined six major championships and four FedEx Cup championships between them -- are off and running in Round 2 to start their day. McIlroy is 10 back of leader Scottie Scheffler and Thomas is 11 back sitting at 6 under and 5 under, respectively.

McIlroy, who is the only golfer to have won the FedEx Cup three times, last won in 2022 after winning in 2019 and in 2016. He has had a stellar season with two wins and a soul-crushing second-place finish at the U.S. Open. Thomas last won the FedEx Cup in 2017. He entered the week No. 30 out of 30 qualifiers for the event at East Lake and has not won on the PGA Tour since his win at the PGA Championship at Southern Hills in 2022.

East Lake showing its teeth early

Round 2 is off to a rough start for a chunk of the morning crew who were off early to kick off Friday. Only one golfer so far -- Christiaan Bezuidenhout -- is in the red at 1-under. Three are 1 over and one 2 over in the early going of the 10 already on the course.

Round 2 schedule Friday

Good morning and welcome to our Round 2 coverage of the Tour Championship leading into the weekend. We have a fun Friday on tap at East Lake, where Scottie Scheffler has a sizable lead after firing a 66 (-5) on Thursday in Round 1 to extend his lead to seven strokes.

The second round is officially underway with Christiaan Bezuidenhout and Billy Horschel off the first tee. Scheffler and Collin Morikawa are in the final group slated to go off at 2 p.m. ET.

Expert Pick of the Week: 2024 Jockey Club Gold Cup

Aug 29, 2024 john mucciolo/twinspires.com.

A strong and accomplished field of seven will go postward in Sunday’s $1 million Jockey Club Gold Cup S. (G1) at Saratoga . The 1 1/4-mile event is led by the exciting Arthur’s Ride , who led at every call en route to a dominant victory in the Whitney S. (G1) on the surface last time out. He is the Expert Pick of the Week.

Trained by Bill Mott, the peaking colt has been superb at this meet in two tries, which includes a 12-length allowance waltz two back at today’s 10- furlong distance . The gray son of Tapit finished second best in the first two starts of his career on the course in 2022, but he has morphed into a different animal from his pair of two-turn races as of late.

Arthur’s Ride is 3-for-4 this campaign , and he combines fine early speed with the ability to carry it over a route of ground, and the colt also appears to be the one to catch once again. The Glassman Racing color-bearer has posted a pair of maintenance morning moves in advance of Sunday and his best performance will make him close to untouchable in the contest. Regular pilot Junior Alvarado will be in the stirrups.

A thrilling finish in the H. Allen Jerkens Memorial (GI)! #3 Domestic Product at 9/2 gets the job done at #TheSpa with Flavien Prat in the saddle for trainer Chad Brown. pic.twitter.com/yJmtQ5yMcz — TwinSpires Racing 🏇 (@TwinSpires) August 24, 2024

I have yet to give up on 2023 Travers S. (G1) runner-up Disarm and consider him to be a viable second choice in the talented field. Trained by Steve Asmussen, the Gun Runner chestnut has shown improvement with each run of 2024, and while he has yet to reach his form of last season, I feel that he is sitting on a big effort Sunday. The four-year-old colt has run well in each lifetime try at this voyage and is training in good fashion. The Winchell homebred will also save valuable ground throughout, and Joel Rosario retains the ride atop the dangerous contender.

Godolphin homebred #6 Highland Falls is a consistently good colt who seems poised to thrive on his second try at 1 1/4 miles. The chestnut son of Curlin is not especially explosive, but the four-year-old is quite steady and has the right running to grind his way into the top three with his best effort. Flavien Prat riding is a bonus.

Expert Pick

An exacta with #7 Arthur’s Ride on top of #4 Disarm and #6 Highland Falls in the 2024 Jockey Club Gold Cup is the Best Bet of the Week.

Britannia in Numbers

After years of design and development, INEOS Britannia prepares to battle it out for supremacy on the waves in the 37th America’s Cup – and become the first British team to win the world’s oldest, international sporting trophy.

INEOS Britannia’s weapon of choice for the battle in Barcelona is Britannia, their 75ft, 6.2 tonne AC75 foiling race boat which was designed and developed in partnership with Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team.

x yachts gold cup 2024

So what exactly goes into an America’s Cup race boat? We outline Britannia’s key stats in numbers below.

120,000 Individual parts

50,000 Construction hours

35,000 Design hours

30,000 Data channels

700 Sensors and channels

100 Designers

33 On-board cameras

16 Athletes

8 Athletes on-board at any one time:

4 Cyclors

4 Flight Controllers/Trimmers

2 Helms

All to win 1 America’s Cup

Each AC75 has two Helmsmen. One sits port side; the other, starboard. Communication is key because their vision is limited due to the huge, deck-sweeping sails. They steer the boat and have multiple functions on their steering wheels where they can trim the pitch, cant and angle of the boat at the touch of a button.

The two Flight Controller/Trimmers keep the boat up in flight on the foils and achieve target speeds through trimming the sails effectively. They work in conjunction with the helmsmen and can also assist in tactical decisions.

The Cyclors’ job is to churn out watts faster than the other teams. They must maintain up to 500+ watts on the static bikes, which are fixed inside the 75ft carbon-fibre hull, for spells of 20 minutes and nail sprints at up to 1,800 watts. In doing so, they provide the hydraulic power to trim the sails and make the boat go faster. One Cyclor has likened the job to cycling and competing in a rugby match at the same time.

Barcelona is the set for the 37th America's Cup sailing race, with Louis Vuitton as title sponsor.

After making a substantial splash at the Olympics — its brand ambassador Léon Marchand scored four gold medals in the pool — Louis Vuitton is moving on to bigger waters as the title sponsor of sailing’s most prestigious race, the America’s Cup, which gets underway in earnest this week in Barcelona.

“Our proximity to sports is not new,” said Pietro Beccari, chairman and chief executive officer of Louis Vuitton , whose connection to the America’s Cup dates back to 1983. “But I think we are in a very strong position to reinforce this position.”

“I tell my sales associates in the stores that they don’t just sell products. They sell what we stand for —overcoming your limits, going above and beyond, and I think sports embody that, too,” said the executive, who once played soccer professionally. “We stand for optimism. We stand for victory. We stand for challenging yourself and challenging your limits all the time. This is the spirit.”

All of the above bodes well for the Louis Vuitton 37th America’s Cup, which kicks off with the Louis Vuitton Cup round robins on Thursday and winds up toward the end of October.

Professional sailor Grant Dalton, CEO of the America’s Cup event, told WWD qualifying races in Barcelona have already racked up 714 million views online, meaning the event will surely surpass the 914 million views achieved overall at 2021’s races in Auckland, New Zealand.

In an interview, he credited such huge audiences to the free-to-air policy of America’s Cup, rare at most sporting events, where broadcast rights rank as a chief revenue stream. “TV is a 20 million euro cost for us to help build the sport,” Dalton said.

Beccari let slip that a documentary is being filmed about this edition of the America’s Cup, which could do for sailing what the Netflix series “Formula 1: Drive to Survive” did for car racing — fan its global popularity, and attract younger generations and more women to the sport.

In another effort to entice new fans, organizers devised an e-series livestreamed on Twitch, with the inaugural edition offering six exceptional players the chance to come to Barcelona on Sept. 28 and “race” in its cutting-edge simulators. “Gamers to sailors” is how Dalton described the project, noting youngsters from Venezuela, Hungary and New Zealand have already won a chance to make the leap from “bedroom to the water.”

The Youth & Puig Women’s America’s Cup, held concurrently, should also heighten the sport’s profile.

Also, “we needed to be in a time zone and a population base [that] is infinitely bigger than New Zealand,” he said. “We needed to move it into a bigger market from a sponsorship point of view.”

The 2024 edition is already a main attraction in Barcelona, where anyone within view of the water can take in the racing, since it’s held close to shore around Port Vell and along the beach to Port Olímpic.

Dalton, who has raced around the world seven times, also trumpeted that the boats themselves are a star attraction as “the most sophisticated, technologically advanced and certainly the fastest boats that have ever competed in the America’s Cup.”

Having Vuitton as title sponsor, and organizer of the qualifying stages, is another bonus: “They bring prestige, they bring an element of glamour, they have an amazing marketing ability, and they just bring panache,” Dalton enumerated. “It’s like mum and apple pie: The America’s Cup without Louis Vuitton is not the America’s Cup.”

Five challengers in the Louis Vuitton Cup regattas — Ineos Britannia, Alinghi Red Bull Racing, Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli, NYYC American Magic and Orient Express Racing — will battle it out on the water to face off with Emirates Team New Zealand for the big prize.

Dalton described yacht sailing as a “technology sport,” analogous to Formula 1, since only a dozen members of each 150-strong team are sailors. “So if you can’t be a significant player in the technology race, you will get beaten,” he said.

In an interview, Beccari noted that “the technology of filming” the sleek sailing yachts is also making a quantum leap with the 37th edition, thanks to helicopters, drones and on-screen graphics, which should make it easier for newcomers to understand how the dueling teams are faring, and when mistakes are looming.

Vuitton has played a role in America’s Cup races in the U.S., Australia, Bermuda, Hong Kong, Dubai, France and Spain, burnishing the regattas’ visibility and prestige. Vuitton was last the title partner of the America’s Cup in 2017 in Bermuda.

Vuitton has also recently run ad campaigns featuring iconic duos, such as soccer stars Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, or tennis legends Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer .

Asked about what Vuitton might gain from being title sponsor of the America’s Cup, Beccari replied: “It’s very difficult to understand what a specific event brings you. I believe in a series of events, a series of things that makes your brand desirable,” he said. “We strongly believe, with our guts, that the Olympics, the America’s Cup, what we did at the Grand Prix de Monaco, what we do with tennis, is strengthening the desirability of our brand, also with young generations.”

Beccari concurred with Dalton that yacht sailing remains an “emerging” sport.

“But I think it is very sophisticated and when we talk about travel, I would say that the sea is the way that people started traveling across continents,” he said. “So I think there is a certain link to the world of travel of Louis Vuitton.…It seems very natural that we accompany the America’s Cup back to Europe.”

He also highlighted the “romantic” aspect of yacht sailing, since the victor decides the timing, rules, format and sponsors for the next America’s Cup, giving each edition a unique character.

Vuitton hosted a massive kickoff party Tuesday night at a mountaintop amusement park, which attracted the likes of Marchand and his fellow Olympian Pau Echaniz, a Spanish slalom canoeist who took home a bronze medal.

Vuitton plans to host hundreds of VICs in Barcelona over the coming months, as well as journalists and various local dignitaries.

In addition, it crafted the Louis Vuitton Cup trophy and — at the historical Louis Vuitton atelier in Asnières — two trunks for the Louis Vuitton Cup and the America’s Cup.

The Auld Mug is the silver trophy handed to the winner of the America’s Cup since 1851, considered the oldest international sports trophy in the world. Meanwhile, the Louis Vuitton Cup has been presented to the winner of the eponymous qualifying-stage competition since 1983.

Nicolas Ghesquière and Pharrell Williams, Vuitton’s artistic directors for women’s and men’s collections respectively, contributed to the line, which boasts a graphic “V” originally designed by Gaston-Louis Vuitton, grandson of the founder.

The capsule includes the LV Rush sneaker, which Ghesquière unveiled as part of his cruise 2024 collection for Vuitton, and it reprises a striped theme seen in Williams’ debut spring 2024 collection.

Beccari said he hopes to entice both men to spend a weekend in Barcelona and be seduced by the spectacle. “I love spending vacation on boats and on the sea,” he said.
