Basic specs..
The hull is made of fibreglass. Generally, a hull made of fibreglass requires only a minimum of maintenance during the sailing season.
The interior is like many other boats made of mahogany. Mahogany belongs to the hardwood species, known for being water-repellent and resistant to decay. It has an attractive wood grain and holds wood polish and varnish well. The boat is equipped with 3 cabins, 6 berths, a galley, 300.0 liter fresh water capacity, toilet facility and 100.0 liter waste water capacity.
The Forgus 37 has been built with different keel alternatives.
One option is a fin keel. The fin keel is the most common keel and provides splendid manoeuvrability. The downside is that it has less directional stability than a long keel.
The boat can enter most marinas as the draft is just about 1.58 - 1.68 meter (5.18 - 5.48 ft) dependent on the load. See immersion rate below.
But be aware that even though a Fin Keel keel is very good for speed racing, a fishing nets and the like in the water can easily make you into a troublesome situation.
Another option is a fin keel.
Forgus 37 can only enter major marinas as the draft is about 1.95 - 2.05 meter (6.40 - 6.70 ft) dependent on the load. See immersion rate below.
The boat is typically equipped with an inboard Volvo Penta MD22L diesel engine at 48 hp (35 kW). Calculated max speed is about 7.1 knots

Forgus 37 is the result of evolution of the Forgus Yacht-line. It all started with the Forgus 31, developing yachts to the exacting standrads that is followed by the yards at the Island of Orust. The Forgus 37 is in the same vein as other well.known center cockpit yachts from the area, such as the Hallberg-Rassy 36 and the Najad 373, all great yachts that you can find anywhere om the planet, typically sailed by a cruising couple with occassional guests or by a family with smaller children. The security that a well-built yacht gives is omni-present. This Forgus 37 was originally acquired by a British sailor, sailing her to the Med. The yacht was then sold in Greece to a new owner with plans for crossing oceans. He then upgraded the yacht considerably, among other things fitting a new 54 Hp Yanmar engine. Plans then changed, and the word that the yacht might be for sale finally reached the ears of the current owner. Having planned to sail from Sweden to the Med via the European canals, the buyer turned it around, and started in the eastern Med, sailing in the Med and then back to Sweden via the canals. The draft of 1.58 with a substantial lead-keel makes the yacht suitable not only for ocean-sailing, but also for enjoying the european canals. This is a very nice yacht. Wherever you chose to sail, whichever plans you have, the Forgus 37 will never be the limiting factor. Forgus yachts were built on the island of Orust alongside other well known Swedish boatbuilders, Hallberg Rassy, Malo and Najad. Built to the highest standard, the Forgus 37 is a well-proven centre cockpit offshore cruiser with good performance and a layout suitable for extended living aboard. This excellent example has been well looked after and is presented in very good condition.

The layout offers up to six berths with two double sleeping cabins separate from the main accommodation. In the forecabin, V berth with infill and stowage under. Opening hatch to foredeck. Two hanging lockers. In saloon, dinette to port with settee berth opposite. The seat back of this berth lifts up to reveal a wider berth and provide daytime bedding stowage. Fixed table with drop leaves. Opening hatch to deck. Chart table to starboard with L shaped galley opposite. Two burner gimballed ENO gas cooker with oven. Twin stainless steel sinks with hot and cold pressurised water system (engine and immersion heating). 300 litre freshwater capacity in two tanks. Refrigerator with keel cooling. Separate heads compartment to starboard with marine WC (with 70 litre holding tank), shower and wash basin. Walk through to aft cabin with access to port side of engine. Good sized double berth to starboard with occasional seat opposite. Hanging locker. Opening hatch to deck. Webasto diesel fired hot air central heating. Radio/CD player. Grey/blue upholstery (2017).
Located in acoustically insulated space below the cockpit. 1996, Volvo Penta MD22L marine diesel engine. Four cylinders. 48hp. Fresh water cooled. Shaft drive to fixed three bladed propeller. Single lever engine controls. 210 litre fuel capacity in stainless steel tank, giving a range of some 250/300nm at 6 knots cruising speed. There is good access to the engine either at the front or via the access hatch in the walk-through. The vendor estimates that the engine has completed some 2,700 hours and it is due its next service. The engine is serviced by her owner annually.

Built in 1996 by Forgus Yachts to a design by Hugo Samuelsson. White GRP hull with dark sheer stripe. Rubbing strakes. Alloy toe rail. White GRP superstructure with teak laid deck. Centre self draining cockpit. Skeg hung rudder. Wheel steering. Fin keel with lead ballast. Sugar scoop transom with bathing platform.
March 2022 the underwater section of the hull was shot blasted, keel faired, all epoxy coated then Coppercoat applied. Professionally done by Suffolk Yacht Harbour with coating warranty.
Two owners from new, she has been in her current ownership for 15 years.

The Forgus 37 is a classic centre cockpit yacht built on the island of Orust. A solid yacht for both short and long trips at sea. A yacht that can easily be sailed by a couple and offers accommodation for 4-6 people.
This Forgus 37 was originally bought by an Englishman who used it as a floating summerhouse and for sailing in the Mediterranean. The second owner was based in Greece. He set WINDRA up for long distance sailing. Much of the equipment on-board was updated, including an investment in a new engine. When the boat was ready, the plans changed, and a Swedish family became her owners when they bought WINDRA in Greece in 2016. They used the yacht for some sailing in Mediterranean and then sailed back home to Sweden through Europe’s canals. The current owners who bought WINDRA in 2019 have done some recent updates including, for example, new instrumentation, canvas, windows and more.
A draft of 1.58 m and the substantial lead keel make WINDRA suitable not only for oceans and archipelagos, but also for the canals of Europe.
