What Are The Best Beach Clubs In Uluwatu?

1. ulu cliffhouse.

Ulu-Cliffhouse

Now, we’ve already briefly touched on the stunning views that the southern Bukit peninsula of Uluwatu offers, and for those lucky enough to be visiting Ulu Cliffhouse , I think the views here might just be the best of the lot.

Perched 100 ft up, on top of a typically rocky Balinese clifftop, guests can admire the jaw-dropping views while lounging in the pool. This famous beach club specializes in performances from world-famous DJs , delicious drinks and even better food.

It has a chilled-out vibe with its swaying palm trees and thatched bungalows , perfect for a day to enjoy the nice weather and scenery. Compared to some of the other beach clubs in Bali, Ulu Cliffhouse feels less pretentious.

That’s not to say you can rock up straight off of the beach in a tank top and flip-flops though, a tidy yet casual dress code is enforced at all times, so do make a little effort if you decide to visit Ulu Cliffhouse.

Swimwear is, of course, permitted because of the stunning 25-meter infinity pool available to all visitors of the resort.

2. Sundays Beach Club

With an incredible reputation, the chilled-out family-friendly Sundays Beach Club is certainly one of the best on the island.

Hidden from sight, guests have to meander through the luxury resort of Ungasan Clifftop before traveling down the cliff face on a funicular to reach the beach club. Immaculate white sand awaits, with what must be the clearest strip of the Indian Ocean, just waiting for you to dive in.

As it’s part of the six-star Ungasan Clifftop Resort, Sundays Beach Club have world-class cuisine. Grilled over a woodfire, freshly caught Barramundi, Snapper, and Lobster are all on offer as are salads and poke bowls for those counting the calories.

Sit by the beach bonfires with a creative cocktail, or there are even milkshakes and mocktails for non-drinkers and children, while you listen to live music and DJs. Guests also get complimentary use of a variety of water equipment like kayaks, snorkels, and paddleboards.

Now, this does come at a cost, however, and entrance fees are on the pricey side. For a day pass, it’ll cost you 650k IDR per adult to enter, though this does include 400k IDR worth of food and drink credit for you to use.

3. Roosterfish Beach Club

Roosterfish-Beach-Club

Continuing with the theme of ‘hidden’ beaches, the white sands of Pandawa Beach are absolutely stunning and certainly one of Bali’s most picturesque. Nestled in front of a magnificent limestone cliff, this strip of coastline is home to the Roosterfish Beach Club .

Boasting a colossal pool overlooking the ocean, a live DJ performance at sunset, bamboo cabanas, and plenty of comfy sun loungers and bean bags, the atmosphere of this Uluwatu beach club is very inviting.

Head down to the pool club early, and feast on some of the delightful breakfast options including Uluwatu breakfast burritos, duck waffles, and for those a little more adventurous, local delicacies like seafood porridge and Bali’s famous Nasi Goreng.

Kids are more than welcome at Roosterfish Beach Club. They pride themselves on its ‘Sunday Funday’ where every Sunday from 10 AM – 7 PM a huge foam party happens, complete with games and picture opportunities for the kids.

There are no entrance fees at Roosterfish Beach Club which is great. However, there is a minimum spend if you would like to use certain facilities such as bean bags, sun loungers, and daybeds.

4. Palmilla Bali Beach Club

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Palmilla Bali Beach Club (@palmillabali)

Newly opened, this is one boutique beach club that certainly has that exclusive feel to it. Smaller than some of the others on the list, we think this actually adds to the overall vibe of Palmilla .

Gorgeous wooden exteriors make way for one of the most beautiful infinity pools in Bali perched just above the beach, sun lounger, and daybeds.

For those wanting to relax on the charming, golden sands of Melasti Beach, it’s incredibly easy to access. Scenic swings and hammocks have been placed throughout the beach club too, meaning you’ve got an incredibly Instagrammable location for the day.

The friendly staff at Palmilla Bali Beach Club is another highlight. There’s always a smile on their faces and nothing is ever too much trouble. You’ll notice them hard at work throughout the day, constantly cleaning tables, surfaces and serving you food and drinks (which, by the way, is magnificent).

There’s an entrance fee of 150k IDR at Palmilla, though it comes with a complimentary drink or popcorn. There is also minimum spending when it comes to using their facilities, which means your bill can add up!

But for the laid-back atmosphere on one of the best beaches in Uluwatu, it is a reasonable price to pay! Oh, and did we mention, the sunsets here are also some of the best on the island? A must for your Bali itinerary .

5. Savaya Bali

Chances are if you’ve been in Bali for any period of time, you’ll have heard people talking about Savaya . It is one of the beach clubs I’ve been to Bali that I’ll never forget.

Think Ibiza superclub , mixed with unparalleled views of the Indian Ocean amongst the thick Indonesian jungle, and the elegance and grandeur that comes with being one of the leading beach clubs in Uluwatu.

The atmosphere is nothing short of electric, created by world-renowned DJs and musicians playing regular slots, and also the stunning scenery and first-class facilities guests have access to.

A gorgeous infinity pool wraps around the outer edge of the club like a snake, complete with a swim-up pool bar.

Now, who doesn’t love a swim-up bar?

Savaya Bali also offers its guests some of the finest cuisines on the island, from fresh calamari, toasted sourdough sandwiches, sets of delectable beef sliders, and even a sharing platter of quality seafood. The drinks are superb too, with well-known favorites on offer as well as some intriguing tiki-style cocktails.

Prices are about average considering Savaya’s status as one of the best beach clubs in Bali and early bird tickets cost 150k IDR. The minimum spending for daybeds though is an eyewatering 5 million IDR. Also, if there are events at Savaya, which they often do, expect to pay a lot more

6. Karma Beach Club Bali

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Karma Beach Bali (@karmabeachclubs)

If supremely chilled beach vibes are what is needed after a night out, then Karma Beach Club Bali could be just what the doctor ordered.

With its entrance high up on top of the cliff, guests take the funicular down to reach the beach – a superb start to your Karma experience.

This slowly makes way for uninterrupted views of Bali’s most spectacular private beach cove , where the plushest of bean bags, day beds, and sun loungers are exclusively for guests.

As a family-friendly resort, there are plenty of activities to keep busy, with water sports equipment free to use.

Karma Beach Club Bali’s island-famed Suckling Pig BBQ is also one of the highlights, as is the appetizing Mediterranean-inspired food that dominates its menu.

Fresh mezze platters, Greek salads, and a host of other mouth-watering dishes all come at reasonable prices.

Drinks are a little more expensive in comparison, with fantastic cocktails all set at 200,000 IDR ($13) and similar for single shots of spirits.

This will be on top of the beach club’s entrance fee, which reflects its private nature at 850,000 IDR . But visitors can use 350k as credit towards the use of their facility, towels, and water sports activities.

On the weekend, Karma Beach Club has events. There are live bands on Fridays, fire dancers on Saturdays, and something they call Savage Sundays (it comes with a cabaret show)!

7. Single Fins Bali

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Single Fin Uluwatu (@singlefinbali)

Opened in 20018, Single Fins is one of the oldest beach clubs in Bali. This is a slightly different option on our list, as it’s more of a sunset bar as opposed to the typical day clubs in Bali.

It is one of my favorite places to watch the sunset in Bali with a few friends, as admission is free and you only pay for your drinks.

Watch the sun dip below the Indian Ocean horizon from their infinity pool with an ice-cold cocktail in hand while listening to live musicians and international DJs! It is an experience in Bali you won’t forget!

If you’re feeling a little peckish, whether it’s lunch or dinner, the chefs at Single Fins have crafted a sizeable menu featuring Western favorites like tacos, quesadillas, and fresh woodfired pizza alongside Asian delicacies like Nasi Goreng, Tempe Thai salad, and satay.

There’s no entrance fee which means you can enjoy the Single Fin atmosphere even if you’re traveling Bali on a budget ! If you are looking for a lively day club to dance and party, then come to Single Fins on Sundays when they have international DJs and live acts!

8. El Kabron Bali

El-Kabron-Uluwatu-Beach-CLub.

If you’re longing for a splash of Spanish cuisine on the island of Bali, there’s no place more worthy than El Kabron .

Freshly caught seafood, tapas dishes rivaling those found on the streets of Andalusia, and deep orange sunsets to die for, all come together to create a one-of-a-kind Mediterranean restaurant-cum-beach club experience.

If El Kabron couldn’t be luxurious enough, for those wanting something extra special the Hedonism Lounge boasts a wondrous infinity pool complete with lush day bed s, and best of all, several sofas on the specially built sunset decking.

Entrance to the day club itself is completely free, as long as you comply with the relevant minimum spend rules depending on where you sit.

9. Tropical Temptation

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Tropical Temptation Beach Club®️ (@tropicaltemptation)

Managed by the renowned Inivie Hospitality Group, Tropical Temptation Beach Club is one of the highest-quality beach day clubs in Uluwatu.

Its beautiful Mediterranean decor harmonizes with the surrounding natural environment, creating a venue that is both elegant, visually stunning, and comfortable.

Situated on Melasti Beach, guests can have breathtaking cliffs and scenic ocean views while they sip on some of their signature cocktails . When you are ready to get wet, you can jump one of their two infinity pools, or go straight into the sea, which is no more than 100 meters away!

If you want to have a good time, Tropical Temptation has a daily DJ which always gets everyone loose and the party started!

Entry is free for Tropical Temptation Beach Club, but there is required minimum spending depending on what type of table you’ve selected. The cheapest is a barstool, which costs around 350k IDR, and the most expensive is VVIP DECK, which costs 6 million IDR!

10. White Rock Beach Club

View this post on Instagram A post shared by White Rock Beach Club Bali (@whiterockbeachclub)

White Rock Beach Club is one of the largest beachfront clubs in the South of Bali. Situated on Melasti Beach, the club features sweeping views of the Indian Ocean from every angle.

Like most beach clubs in Bali, there is no entrance fee. But depending on your seat selection, you’ll have to pay anywhere from 1 million IDR to 8 million IDR.

It might seem like a hefty price to pay, but for a multi-story beach club with incredible food and drinks and some of the best views in Bali, it’s totally worth it.

If you are sure you are going to visit White Rock Beach Club, I would recommend you reserve your seat online. The place offers a hefty discount (~50%) for those that book online in advance.

2.  Ulu Cliffhouse

As the name suggests, Ulu Cliffhouse is also located upon the awe-inspiring cliffs of uluwatu. Like other Uluwatu beach clubs in this guide, you can either head here for dinner or spend the day relaxing, taking in the spectacular views.

There’s no entrance fee for Ulu Cliffhouse. However, if you want to relax on a daybed there’s a minimum spend. Considering the amount of food and drink to choose from, spending money here won’t be difficult.

At this beach club, you can enjoy various dishes including seafood off the grill, sushi, pizzas, and the traditional nasi goreng among others. Don’t forget about the extensive drinks menu either!

A highlight of coming to Ulu Cliffhouse is its outdoor pool, along with the beach club’s awesome vibe.

There are also live DJs during the weekend, where you can enjoy a good jamming session. If you can, time your visit with watching the sunset at this gorgeous clifftop day club.

3.  Savaya Bali

Once home to the mighty OMNIA, this spot is now called Savaya Bali and is one of the top beach clubs in Uluwatu. This venue is set 100 meters above the Indian Ocean on the cliffside, so boasts fantastic views of the surrounding area.

Not only is the setting of this beach club beautiful, but there’s a fantastic swimming pool that boasts striking sea views.

For those who just want to relax, you can kick back on a daybed and order some delicious food.

Alternatively, you can head to Savaya Bali in the evening when the atmosphere really pops. This beach club is renowned for hosting top-tier DJs and they have some fantastic events on throughout the year!

Just be aware that you’ll need to pay an entrance fee to enter and it’s one of the more expensive beach clubs in Bali, offering an upscale vibe.

4.  El Kabron

If you’re looking for the best Uluwatu beach clubs, check out El Kabron.

It’s one of the most beautiful venues in the area and is set underneath swaying palm trees, offering a real tropical vibe.

Boasting an oceanfront Mediterranean restaurant, a luxurious pool area, and a front seat to some of the world’s best sunsets, El Kabron really does have something for everyone!

Couples after a romantic experience can enjoy the venue’s iconic Sunset Theater, which offers the perfect setting for watching the sunset.

Here, you can admire unobstructed ocean views, while enjoying a drink (or several).

For the partygoers out there, El Kabron offers daily sunset parties, where you can appreciate great music (live) and DJ performances.

The atmosphere is fantastic, but be aware that some events will have a dress code.

Better yet, this beach club is very upfront with its pricing as costs are on their website!

Suluban Beach, Uluwatu, Bali, Indonesia

5.  Sundays Beach Club

Sundays Beach Club is another great option for a relaxing afternoon in Uluwatu. Unlike many beach clubs in this area, Sundays is set on the beachfront, offering breathtaking ocean views and direct access to the shoreline (depending on high tide).

One of the best reasons to visit Sundays Beach Club is that you can enjoy complimentary water sports, as the entrance fee includes stand-up paddle boarding, kayaks, and snorkeling equipment (depending on availability).

After 5 pm, Sundays also offers sunset bonfires where you can grab a beanbag and toast some marshmallows.

During the weekend, these bonfires are accompanied by live music and DJs so there’s a fantastic atmosphere.

As well as offering a beach-inspired menu all day long, this beach club hosts the ‘Sunset Cinema’ too where you can watch a movie by the beach!

Thanks to its location, this beach club is also a popular option with families.

6.  Oneeighty  Day Club

One Eighty Dayclub is one of the more exclusive options in Uluwatu. This day club is part of  the Edge  and is set high above the Indian Ocean, offering the ultimate luxurious getaway.

The highlight of visiting this beach club is the glass-bottom sky pool that extends over the cliff edge.

It’s suspended above the ocean so offers quite an exhilarating experience. Although it’s probably not suitable for those with a fear of heights!

One Eighty also offers a sky lounge, sand lounge, and extensive VIP deck, along with a bar and restaurant, all of which offer jaw-dropping panoramic views.

Here, you can enjoy a variety of delicious food, including BBQ and grill dishes, pasta, pizzas, burgers, and more. There’s also plenty of vegan options and you’ll have an extensive drinks menu to choose from! Day pass prices also include food credit.

7.  Tropical Temptation Beach Club

Tropical Temptation Beach Club is another beachfront venue and is known for its bohemian vibe and breathtaking sea views. It’s located along Melasti Beach too, one of the most beautiful beaches in South Bali.

If you’re after great service, attentive staff, stunning sea views, and a pristine location, this is your place. It’s also a fantastic spot to watch the sunset, so try to time your visit with watching the sun go down.

Reserve a lagoon day bed and spend the entire day relaxing and luxe experience overlooking the beach and the gorgeous infinity pool.

At Tropical Temptation Beach Club, you’ll benefit from three swimming pools, a beachfront area, and an award-winning restaurant. Here, you can also enjoy signature cocktails, artisan beers, expat coffee, and a selection of wines.

Just keep in mind that Tropical Temptation is around a 35-minute drive from Uluwatu Beach. However, the journey is worth it as this beach club can often be less crowded than others in this guide.

8.  Palmilla Bali Beach Club

Palmilla Bali Beach Club is another popular option situated along Melasti Beach. Thanks to its shorefront location, you’ll have direct access to the beach and sea, where you can head out for a dip when you’re not relaxing in the outdoor swimming pool.

With its stunning sea views and striking cliff backdrop, the scenery in this area will blow you away.

Palmilla Bali Beach Club also boasts a relaxing and laid-back atmosphere, making it the perfect place to relax.

There are some fantastic food and drink options here too, with burgers, pizzas, pasta dishes, and salads all making an appearance on the menu! There’s also an extensive drinks menu to choose from.

Sunset DJ Sessions take place every day for those after a more upbeat experience. Not to mention, the staff are friendly and really helpful!

9.  White Rock Beach Club

There’s also White Rock Beach Club, which is located next to the Palmilla Bali Beach Club. It’s South Bali’s largest beachfront club and is famous for its fantastic location and extensive facilities.

A highlight of White Rock Beach Club has to be its infinity pool, where you’ll get breathtaking sea views. It’s also a great spot for watching the sunset.

There are plenty of day beds surrounding the pool too! You’ll want to reserve these in advance, and the minimum spend can be accredited to food and drink.

This beach club boasts a diverse menu full of international dishes, such as steak, pizzas, tacos, and salads.

Unlike other Uluwatu beach clubs, White Rock also offers an on-site spa. This means you can enjoy various treatments during your visit, including massages and facials. What more could you ask for?

Which of These Famous Beach Clubs Will You Visit?

catamaran beach club uluwatu

As you can see, there are so many fantastic beach clubs in Uluwatu. You can opt for somewhere right on the beachfront, or you can enjoy a cliff-top establishment, where you’ll enjoy panoramic views – the choice is yours!

Once you’ve decided where to go, it’s best to reserve a place in advance, especially if you want to book a day bed for the whole afternoon.

And remember that some beach clubs will require a minimum spend or you’ll need to pay a reservation fee. In terms of the latter, this fee is often redeemable against food and drinks while you’re there.

Best Beach Clubs in Uluwatu, Bali – The Basics

Currency = indonesian rupiah .

The currency in Indonesia is the Rupiah (IDR)

1 USD = 15,416.80 Indonesian Rupiah

You’ll find that some restaurants and cafes will accept card payments but you do need cash while traveling around Bali. Cash is useful if you need to tip a guide, split a restaurant bill, or shop at a local market. You can find ATMs in town.

Language = Bahasa Indonesia

Bahasa Indonesia is the official language of Indonesia. In Bali, there are three main languages spoken on the island: Indonesian, Balinese, and English.

I suggest brushing up on basic Balinese phrases to be polite. I love using the Duolingo app to learn languages. However, because Bali is pretty touristy and a digital nomad hot spot, you’ll find that it’s relatively easy to get around with English.

Phone & Internet

Phone and internet can be spotty around the island depending on your location. Especially in remote locations. However, if you are in the town center of places like Uluwatu, Canggu, or Ubud, you’ll find many cafes with fast and reliable wifi.

Bali has become one of the top destinations for remote workers, so overall, the island has a great infrastructure for digital nomads. Most hotels and villas will also have wifi. I suggest double-checking with your accommodation.

While traveling internationally, I suggest using an eSIM for affordable cellular data. Airalo makes it easy to purchase and install an eSIM suitable for the destination you are visiting. Purchase data with Airalo here.

Daily Budget

Bali is a relatively affordable place to visit. Especially compared to destinations in the west. The average budget for Bali is about $25 to $40 per day. However, travelers have spent as little as $15 per day by spending time at the beach and eating local food.

Tipping in Bali

Tipping is not customary in Bali, however, a small amount of change is always appreciated. If you choose to tip, an amount of 10% to 15% is generous. Or a small amount such as 10,000 to 20,000 IDR is polite to leave.

Can You Drink The Tap Water?

No, do not drink the tap water in Bali.

free beach clubs in uluwatu

US citizens will need a visa to enter Indonesia. You can either purchase a visa on arrival or online ahead of time.

The Best Beach Clubs in Uluwatu

1. palmilla beach club.

Location : Melasti Beach

On the Beach? Yes

Palmilla Beach Club is one of the best beach clubs in Uluwatu! It’s located right on Melasti Beach with direct access to the sandy beach. There is an outdoor pool, lounge chairs, a bar, and cliff views.

The entry ticket to Palmilla Beach Club is 125,000 IDR this is applied on top of the minimum spend if you choose a spot that requires a minimum spend. The entry fee includes one beer or a snack.

If it’s a sunny day, you’ve got to visit Palmilla. They have a great menu and the vibe here is perfect. They also host different events and have live DJs so check out their website or Instagram page before you visit.

Many beach clubs in Bali will require a minimum spend depending on if you want to relax in a pool lounge, day bed, or other locations in the club. If you plan on spending the day this is typically worth the price because if you are ordering drinks and food you’ll likely hit the minimum spend anyway.

beach club uluwatu cliff

2. Sunday’s Beach Club

Location : Ungasan, South Bali ( Near Melasti Beach )

On The Beach? Yes

Sunday’s Beach Club is not only my favorite beach club in Uluwatu but one of my favorite places ever. I enjoyed it because you get to lay in the bean bag chairs on the beach. Right in front of the ocean.

Their general admission including the main area with sunbeds and beanbags is first come first serve, they don’t take reservations ahead of time.

To get a spot – especially on a sunny day – you need to get there right when they open or even a little before. We arrived right around 9 AM and got to choose the BEST spot and spent the entire day here.

You can pre-book VIP bungalows online ahead of time.

The general admission entrance fee at Sunday’s Beach Club is 650k IDR per person (about 43 USD). This includes 400k food & drink credit, beach access, pool access, beach towels, seating on the beach, and use of kayaks, snorkeling, and paddleboards.

This was the best 45 I spent, I highly recommend visiting Sunday’s Beach Club in Uluwatu.

karma beach club

3. OneEighty Bali

Location:   Pecatu

On The Beach? No

Oneeighty Day Club is located at The Edge and is a clifftop day club with some of the most breathtaking views in Uluwawtu. This club is not on the beach but they offer a sky lounge, sand lounge, bar & restaurant, and cascading pools (including the glass bottom sky pool I’m sure you’ve seen on social media.)

Day passes range from 500k IDR to over 4,00,000 IDR and you can book on their website.

4. Single Fin

Location : Pecatu

Single Fin is a cliff-top bar with a chic restaurant, delicious cocktails, and panoramic views. They often have live DJs and different events depending on the day. Check out their website for events during your visit.

Entry will vary depending on the event. Whether you are looking for a fun night out in Uluwatu, breakfast with a view, or a cocktail after a long day of surfing – Single Fin is a great spot.

Location:  Pecatu

Price: $$$$

I’m sure you’ve seen photos of Savaya Bali on some sort of social media platform. This is one of the most popular day clubs in Uluwatu. Savaya is absolutely stunning and the views from this clifftop club are amazing.

However, it is one of the most expensive clubs in Bali and the drinks were fine, but not worth the price. There are all sorts of events and DJs performing at Savaya, I suggest visiting in the evening for an event if you want to spend time here. Check out Savaya’s website for the latest events and tickets.

My honest opinion is that it was way overpriced and honestly more of a nightlife spot than a day club. Because the sun wasn’t out when I visited it was honestly pretty cold and you are quite limited on pool access with a basic ticket.

6. Ulu Clliffhouse

Ulu Cliffhouse is a 5-star hotel, clifftop beach club, and restaurant. You can visit for a meal, a  cocktail, or relax by the pool with an incredible view of the ocean. They host various events and entry price depends on what’s going on.

Check out their website for the latest updates and events.

Because of the landscape of Uluwatu, many day clubs are clifftop which means you don’t have beach access. The views are obviously still incredible but if you want to spend time on the sand, make sure you choose a beach club with access to the ocean.

7. El Kabron Bali

Location : Camngkak Beach

Price : $$$

El Kabron is a luxury beach club, live music venue, and seafood restaurant in Uluwatu. Here, you’ll find some of the most amazing sunsets and daily sunset DJ sessions.

Daybeds at El Kabron Bali range from 1,000,000 IDR to over 2,000,000 IDR. Visit their website for the latest information.

8. Tropical Temptation

Location: Melasti Beach

On The Beach? Yes

Tropical Temptation is another great beach club in  Uluwatu. It’s located right on Melasti Beach and offers pool access, beach access, food & drinks, and all sorts of lounge areas.

You can book a san day bed, lagoon day bed, VIP cabana, and more on their site. There is no entrance fee at Tropical Temptation but there is a minimum spend. It’s also best to make a reservation ahead of time on their site.

9. Karma Beach Club

Location: Melasti Beach

And lastly, another beach club to visit in Uluwatu is Karma Beach Club. Here, you’ll get access to the beach. Karma is located on Melasti just steps away from Palmilla Beach Club and Sundays. They offer weekly events and experiences.

In my opinion, I enjoyed Sunday’s and Palmilla Beach Club better (the drinks were also better) than Karma, but they are all great options if you are looking for a club on the beach.

When is The Best Time to Visit Bali?

Bali’s dry season is between April and October which typically are the best time to visit to enjoy dry weather. The months of April, May, September, and October are great months to find reduced rates and fewer people aka less crowded beaches and roads. And the traffic in Bali is no joke. It’s insane.

I visited in July which is considered one of the best times to visit Bali in terms of weather but it ended up monsoon-ing in Uluwatu basically during our entire time here. Honestly, there’s not much to do in Uluwatu if it’s storming so pray for good weather when you visit!

How to Get to Uluwatu

Uluwatu is located about 45 minutes from Denpasar Internal Airport (DPS). You can book a Grab or hire a driver. Contact your accommodation to set you up with airport transportation. They can usually provide transportation and you’ll have someone waiting for you at the airport with your name on a sign.

Traffic in Bali is insane at times. Keep this in mind if you plan on visiting nearby cities like Ubud or Canggu.

How to Get Around Uluwatu

The easiest and most efficient way to get around Uluwatu is to rent a motor scooter. However, if you are not comfortable with your scooter-driving abilities ( like me ) use Grab, Gojek, or a private driver to get around.

Both Grab and Gojek are essentially like Uber in Western countries. This is how I got around Bali most of the time. If you want a day full of activities, I suggest hiring a private driver. This will be most efficient and hiring a driver for the day in Bali is affordable.

8 Best Beach Clubs in Uluwatu, Bali [With Map]

Last Updated on July 19, 2024

Kieren Windsor

Hi, I’m Kieren, a full-time blogger from the UK. Bali’s become my home from home after spending 10+ months visiting every corner of the island. Every photo on this blog was taken by us during our travels!

As affiliates, we may earn a commission on any qualifying purchase at no extra cost to you – read more .

Uluwatu’s beach clubs come in all shapes and sizes. From the upmarket Savaya, which attracts the world’s biggest artists and DJs, to hidden gems such as Timbis Beach Club that are perfect for a day of relaxation.

After visiting most of them, we’ve compiled this guide with several of our favourite beach clubs in Uluwatu and across the Bukit Peninsula, so you know the vibe and what to expect.

Beach Clubs in Uluwatu: Map

catamaran beach club uluwatu

While most beach clubs in Bali sit next to the beach or on the clifftop above, Sundays actually have their very own stretch of private beachfront at the end of Melasti.

The beautiful white sand beach is lined with bean bags and sunbeds where you can spend the day relaxing, eating, swimming, and sunbathing.

Their famous cable car will take you most of the way down the steep cliff, with amazing views over the coastline along the way. But there are still a couple of flights of steps to conquer at the bottom.

There’s no swimming pool at Sundays. There again, who needs a pool when you have the beautiful turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean right in front of you? The sea next to Sundays is surprisingly calm and great for swimming and snorkelling.

catamaran beach club uluwatu

Sundays is part of the 5-star Ungasan Clifftop Resort , which is known for its cliff-edge infinity pool overlooking the ocean. Resort guests get free access to the club, while there’s an entrance fee and minimum spend for non-guests starting at 800,000 IDR (with 500,000 of that going towards food and drink credits).

We tend to buy standard entry and get there before midday to claim a spot on the bean bags which are first-come, first-serve. There are also VIP loungers and cabanas for an additional fee.

Keep in mind that the amount of seating varies with the tide, so you may be restricted to the restaurant at high tide.

During the day, you can use the club’s kayaks, paddleboards, and snorkels for free. While each evening, bonfires are built along the beach so you can toast marshmallows as the sun goes down.

Savaya scoops the prize when it comes to the most impressive venue. Located on a 100m high clifftop on the Bukit Peninsula, the iconic beach club has two large infinity pools with swim-up bars, overlooked by its iconic cube bar which is seemingly suspended over the cliff edge.

Savaya is a popular hangout spot among Bali’s chic and affluent crowd, so make sure you dress to impress. It has opulent décor and many VIP tables and booths across the club.

The club is best known for attracting many world-famous DJs and artists, including the likes of Calvin Harris, Fisher, Kygo, Jason Derulo, Eric Prydz, and Camelpha. When big artists are playing, it’s a ticketed event so you’ll need to book ahead .

On non-event days, local DJs play an open format. On weekdays the music is low-key and laid back, while weekends offer more of a party vibe.

catamaran beach club uluwatu

You still need a general admission ticket on non-event days which will set you back 150,000 IDR. Sometimes it’s possible to secure a place on the guestlist for free entry before a certain time – send them a message on Instagram to enquire.

But if you’re staying for the day and want somewhere to sit and leave your belongings, a deckchair or daybed is a better option. There’s a minimum spend commitment for seating which starts at 2,000,000 IDR for 4 people in the lounge area (all prices below).

The food menu at Savaya isn’t huge. It includes a small selection of pizza, sandwiches, salads, rice bowls, and sushi. The food here is fantastic but fairly expensive compared to other beach clubs, with most dishes costing between 150,000 and 250,000 IDR.

3. Ulu Cliff House

catamaran beach club uluwatu

Ulu Cliff House is a clifftop day club on the western coast of Uluwatu. On the top level, you’ll find a huge 25 metre pool surrounded by day beds looking out over the ocean.

This is one of our favourite sunset spots in Uluwatu. We recommend sitting on the terrace area that overhangs the ocean for a peaceful sunset view. Although the seating fills up quickly so get here early.

As the night goes on, attention turns to the ocean deck which can be reached down an unassuming set of steps to the left of the pool. This is where the evening parties take place, with two bars and a central dance floor.

catamaran beach club uluwatu

We rarely visit Uluwatu without stopping by Ulu Cliff House. Our favourite time to visit is Tuesday evening when you can enjoy the club’s open-air movie from the day beds, accompanied by a delicious pizza.

There is no entrance fee for Ulu Cliff House, but there is a minimum spend for some seating areas. During the weekdays, this starts at 500,000 IDR for 4 people, making it one of the most affordable options in Uluwatu. The menu prices are fairly reasonable too.

If you can’t get enough of the clifftop views, you can also stay at Ulu Cliffhouse in one of the seven individually styled suites that overlook the ocean.

Although they brand themselves as an Uluwatu beach club, note that there is no direct access to the beach.

4. Single Fin

catamaran beach club uluwatu

Single Fin is a beach club perched on the cliffs above Uluwatu Beach/Suluban Beach . one of Bali’s most famous surf spots. It’s a picturesque place to enjoy the sunset in Uluwatu, but you’ll need to get there early to secure one of the better seats.

During the day, Single Fin has a laid-back atmosphere with day beds perfect for soaking up the sun. Their menu includes everything from sliders and tacos to pizza and salad. And the prices are pretty reasonable compared to other beach clubs.

catamaran beach club uluwatu

The atmosphere gets livelier in the evening, often with live music and/or a DJ. We love to head here on the weekend for their “Sunday Sessions” event which is Uluwatu’s biggest Sunday night party.

Single Fin is free entry and there are plenty of tables without a minimum spend.

Make a Reservation: Reserve a space at Single Fin

Top Tip: If you don’t manage to get a good sunset spot, head to La Terrazza, an Italian restaurant downstairs with an equally impressive view. You can head back up to enjoy the party at Single Fin later.

5. OneEighty

View this post on Instagram A post shared by O N E E I G H T Y ° (@oneeightybali)

OneEighty is a clifftop day club that’s part of The Edge , a 5-star resort in Uluwatu with luxury villas that overlook the ocean. The day club is open to everyone, not just resort guests.

They have four different pools including a natural pool known as the lagoon.

The most iconic feature is their infinity pool which extends 6m over the edge of the cliff. It has a glass bottom so you can see the waves crashing against the cliff below as you swim. Keep in mind that this is a popular spot so you certainly won’t have the pool to yourself as it looks in the photos.

Regular admission is 100,000 IDR plus 400,000 IDR minimum spend per person. This includes access to the pool and first-come, first-served seating.

VIP admission will get you preferential seating, a welcome granita, and free-flow water (if that’s not sold you, what will?!). But if you want a private cabana, the entry price jumps significantly.

The menu has a lot of seafood dishes and a very extensive wine list, but it’s among the more expensive of the beach clubs in Uluwatu. Shisha is available too.

6. Locca Sea House

catamaran beach club uluwatu

Locca Sea House is a huge, stylish beach club at the top of the Bukit Peninsula, close to Jimbaran . Its unique nautical theme sets it apart from the other clubs, while keeping the cool bohemian vibe you’d expect in Bali.

The club’s large infinity pool looks out across the ocean, offering an excellent view around sunset as the sky turns a multitude of colours.

catamaran beach club uluwatu

The new-ish club is still relatively unknown so it’s a bit of a hidden gem right now and perfect for escaping the crowds of the other Uluwatu beach clubs. We expect it’ll become popular as more people hear about it.

The staff at Locca are incredibly friendly and were even kind enough to upgrade us to a day bed as the club was quiet when we visited. Despite a DJ kicking off a great set, the crowd quickly thinned out after dark, so we’d suggest it more as a chilled daytime spot.

7. Timbis Beach Club

catamaran beach club uluwatu

Timbis Beach Club is a brand new mini beach club on Timbis Beach, which sits right next to better-known Pandawa Beach on the south coast. Although small, it’s a stylish and super modern spot with sun beds, bean bags, day beds, and tables in their onsite restaurant.

If you’re looking for somewhere on the Bukit Peninsula for a low-key pool day next to a peaceful beach with excellent amenities, Timbis ticks all the boxes.

catamaran beach club uluwatu

The small infinity pool is perfectly positioned for watching the surfers riding waves just offshore as the paragliders fly by overhead. They even offer surfboard and kayak hire if you want to head out on the water for a while.

Most of the seating (except the restaurant) has a minimum spend, but this is much lower than other beach clubs, starting at just 200,000 IDR minimum per person.

8. El Kabron

View this post on Instagram A post shared by El Kabron Bali Beach Club (@elkabronbali)

In an otherwise peaceful area of the Bukit Peninsula, El Kabron is a lively beach club perched on the clifftop above Dreamland Beach .

El Kabron is best known for its elaborate sunset pool parties, with live music including incredible live sax and trumpet performances. Watch the videos on their Instagram and be sure to check their events listing as some evenings have an all-white dress code.

If the pool parties aren’t for you, consider heading to their sunset theatre in a secluded part of the club. It has a slightly more elegant atmosphere with cosy sofas overlooking the horizon and candle-lit tables giving romantic vibes.

If you didn’t guess by the name, El Kabron is a Spanish-inspired club, so expect a menu of tapas, sharing plates, and paella, among other Mediterranean classics.

Although there’s no entrance fee, every seating area has a minimum spend commitment, starting at 400,000 IDR per person for the restaurant area. It’s not the cheaper place in town.

Make a Reservation: Reserve a space at El Kabron

Like your very own piece of private beachfront real estate, these exclusive beach cabanas accommodate up to eight guests and come with glass of Chandon on arrival, personal daybed, private butler service and  uninterrupted ocean views.

This exclusive experience extends to Sundays Beach Spa. These six-star pampering cabanas overlooking the ocean are where you can treat yourself to fabulous massages, body scrubs, healing foot reflexology and so much more. If you’re after a more energetic adventure, take advantage of the complimentary kayaks, paddle-boards, fins, and snorkelling gear to take out into the lagoon whenever you please.

Although the sun eventually disappears over the beautiful crimson horizon, this effervescent club is just getting started. From 5pm, a scattering of beachfront bonfires, beanbags, marshmallows transforms the bay into the perfect spot to enjoy a glass of champagne as a sparkly cloak of constellations appear across the sky.

Sundays isn’t always about relaxed campfires and blissful beanbags. Every month this location delivers a line up of live music and DJs to complement these sensational hours.

OMNIA Dayclub

With locations that include Las Vegas and San Diego, OMNIA’s collection of nightclubs takes its international pedigree and places it in Uluwatu. With fantastic views of the Indian Ocean and remarkably gorgeous architecture, OMNIA Dayclub is the perfect spot to enjoy cocktails, fine dining, swimming, and poolside lounging.

As one of the most stylish all-day lounging spots in Uluwatu, it’s set right next to Hakkaisan’s premier dining spot, Sake no Hana, which serves modern takes on classical Japanese delights, including sushi, sashimi, and toban and kamameshi delights.

As with any high-end club, VIP areas are available for those who want an even more elevated experience high up on the limestone cliff-face. Although there’s no direct access to the ocean, you can take a dip in the refreshing pool instead, while sipping some of the best cocktails the island has to offer, or simply drink in the views — which are absolutely stunning.

After sunset, the place comes alive with world-renowned DJs. Make sure you’ve eaten at Sake no Hana or are on the guest list as the top DJ sets sell out quickly.

Ulu Cliffhouse

A truly breathtaking experience on the cliffs of Uluwatu, Ulu Cliffhouse thrives off the energy and boldness of the rolling waves and vast ocean vistas below.

With access to a spacious 25-metre infinity pool and an exclusive beach, this eclectic location really does offer the best of both worlds, while offering fantastic cocktails and world-class cuisine as it hangs provocatively over the sea.

The restaurant and bar are housed in timber and rattan pavilions that provide soft, dappled shade and tiered dining with stunning views of the Indian Ocean. Here, you can discover a menu carefully crafted by world-renowned Peruvian chef Diego Muñoz and his take on Uluwatu’s laidback lifestyle. Once you’ve eaten, find one of the numerous shaded sun loungers that dot the decking.

The centrepiece of Ulu Cliffhouse is the grand infinity pool. Revellers are invited to bask in the pool-side loungers amid gorgeous geometric motifs, pastel furniture, inviting hammocks and lush greenery. If you get thirsty, an array of mixologists can rustle up some fantastic alcoholic and virgin cocktails.

Tucked away, out of sight but not to be missed, the ocean deck is a place where guests can sip on tiki-style cocktails as they bask in the best sundowner the island has to offer. When the tide is low, patrons have access to the bar’s very own private beach cove where the turquoise sea meets a fine, sandy shoreline.

The music at Ulu Cliffhouse brilliantly matches the quality of the venue. Bringing together Bali’s most experienced and eclectic DJs, a constant soundtrack uplifts and provides the perfect backing to a beautiful Uluwatu sunset.

Karma Beach Club

A locally grown bamboo and classic thatched roof exterior is magnificently mixed with a lavishly contemporary interior to create Karma Beach Club — a truly stunning, intimate and secluded destination for holidaymakers searching for a private beach experience.

The yellow sand, blue waters and brilliant bar are reached exclusively via Karma Kandara Resort’s funicular, which provides sweeping vistas over the bay. Once you’ve reached the bottom, you’ll understand why this venue is so highly regarded amongst locals and travellers alike.

The restaurant offers exquisite and delicious Mediterranean, Asian and Indonesian cuisine throughout the day. Take your pick from fresh fish plucked daily from the ocean, expertly prepared sushi and sashimi, or one of Karma’s legendary Hot Babi Guling (Suckling Pork) BBQ Beach Parties.

The beach club features private lounging quarters that can open up as double daybeds for up to ten people and a personalised butler service for a high-class VIP venture. This carefree setting benefits from some down-tempo tunes throughout the day, but at night, internationally renowned DJs from London and Ibiza converge to deliver music that will keep you dancing barefooted underneath the stars for hours.

Roosterfish Beach Club

Roosterfish Beach Club

Located at Pandawa Beach and a short complimentary shuttle ride from the Uluwatu’s Renaissance Hotel , Roosterfish is a lively and welcoming day out for everyone. Pandawa is renowned for its white sands and hidden location behind the lush hills of Kutuh Village in Uluwatu.

Roosterfish’s large beachside pool is set within lush green grass grounds and flanked by sun loungers, cabanas, and private day beds. The restaurant and bar regularly host live music and entertainment, and a creative list of cocktails perfectly complements the fine-dining menu.

One of the biggest appeals is the bottomless brunch, which pairs Roosterfish’s original takes on classic breakfast dishes with Bali’s best Bloody Mary’s. Sit within the locally grown bamboo structure restaurant with its traditional thatched roof exterior, and revel in the rustic smells of woodfired pizzas and the local seafood grill as the day goes by.

There’s a beach volleyball set up, a swim-up pool bar, and direct access to the pristine sands of Pandawa and its shallow turquoise waters. There’s no shortage of Bali beanbags to relax and watch the sunset with a cool beer or cocktails by the jug. The beach swings among the decorative palms that adorn the sea vistas are nothing short of Instagram-worthy.

Savaya Bali

Savaya Bali

Set beneath a vast jungle paradise and perched on a limestone cliff, Savaya sits 100 m above the Indian Ocean in a league of its own. The twin infinity pools and levitating bar that hang over the sea define Savaya’s aesthetic, with its sparkling cube taking center stage. While there’s no beach access, the setting of Savaya leaves little to complain about, and it draws visitors every weekend in with its famous architecture and unbeaten views.

Savaya, formerly known as Omnia and part of the world-renowned collection of nightclubs in Las Vegas and San Diego, is an all-day party spot. Savaya is not only one of the best beach clubs in Uluwatu , but arguably the most famous club in Bali, and by night, this lavish day bed-adorned haven comes alive. The club hosts Bali’s best DJs and wild themes like the Carnival of Lost Souls or Disco Africa that dominate every event.

It’s not uncommon for Savaya to host extravagant fancy dress contests too, with insane cash prizes and ridiculous turnouts. But Savaya is unrivaled in exclusivity, and high entrance fees always follow suit. Even in the rainy season, this club thrives. Like the waves below, Savaya is blessed by the Bali Gods, and its creators uphold that the weather is always good at the venue.

If you’re lucky enough to make it onto the guest list, get there in time for sunset for the best views of the Indian Ocean that Bali has to offer.

Ulu Cliffhouse

Ulu Cliffhouse

If you really want to experience the raw beauty and breathtaking power of Ulutwatu’s cliffs, Ulu Cliffhouse is the place to do it. With each of its events fueled by the energy of the crashing waves below and unspoiled ocean vistas, Ulu Cliffhouse is rustic and laidback yet still exudes luxury.

Housed in traditional timber and rattan pavilions, the tiered restaurant offers sweeping ocean views, dappled shade, and world-class cuisine. Peruvian Diega Munoz is the Head of Chef, and the menu is carefully shaped to encompass both Uluwatu’s bohemian vibe and exclusive clientele.

The centerpiece of the beach club is the infinity pool that’s adorned by sun loungers, pastel furniture, hidden hammocks, and geometric motifs. And the main feature? Ulu Cliffhouses’s ocean deck, tucked away below the cliff and reachable only by the staircase that draws visitors down the cliff face.

The ocean deck is where the night takes off. Eclectic DJs will create the soundtrack for your tiki-style cocktails, crafted by experienced mixologists and accompanied by views of the private beach cove that’s only visible when the turquoise tides are low.

MÏnoo Beach Club

MÏnoo Beach Club

Meaning “Paradise” in Persian, MÏnoo is chic and laidback and the perfect place for Bali’s creatives and wanderlusters to unwind. Highlighting breathtaking vistas of the Indian Ocean, MÏnoo sits on the iconic Ungasan shoreline facing the best sunset angle at Bali’s southernmost point.

MÏnoo’s architectural concept commands attention to the 12-meter infinity pool below the model ‘Jukung’ boat built into the club’s bamboo structures. An eye-pleaser and Instagram spot for all guests, visitors can laze by the pool, in the cabanas, or within the majestic ‘Jukung’ boat all day long.

Enjoy world-class cocktails and fresh coconuts branded with MÏnoo’s logo from wherever you decide to soak up the chill adult playground vibes. The exclusive ambiance and mid-century design make MÏnoo one of the best beach clubs in Uluwatu for early first dates and after-parties with friends.

Melasti Beach, where Minoo resides, is a drive down from Uluwatu’s dramatic limestone cliffs, but the clear shallow waters and visible coral reefs make it one of the best beaches in the region. For your bucket list moment, be sure to walk to the end of the pier when visiting MÏnoo to touch the southernmost tip in all of Bali. Finish the day watching the sunset over the sea , sipping on sundowners, and eating delicious tapas to the sounds of MÏnoo’s smooth DJ tunes.

Is Uluwatu good for nightlife?

Bali has a vibrant nightlife that pulls tourists and travelers in year after year. World-class DJs and energetic party-goers flock to the island searching for world-renowned nights out in luxurious settings. Uluwatu is the jewel on the crown of Bali’s party scene, and its beach clubs rival that of Ibiza and Mykonos with their picturesque settings and notoriously exclusive reputations. Uluwatu was once a surfer’s paradise set within a fisherman’s village that was widely under the radar for tourism. But the unspoiled views of the Indian Ocean and magical energy of the blessed waves have risen in popularity in recent years.

Uluwatu is now home to Bali’s “Billionaire Row,” a strip of coast with cliff-edge mansion villas that house the island’s most exclusive clientele. The best nightlife in Uluwatu can be found dotted along the cliffs in the resorts and beach clubs that line the limestone coasts. Uluwatu has a more sophisticated nightlife than touristy areas like Seminyak and Kuta, and it has quickly developed as one of the best places to party in Bali.

What is the best beach club in Uluwatu?

Fine dining, linen-laden sun loungers, and expertly-crafted cocktails. A day of indulgence by the sea is always deserved, and Uluwatu’s beach club scene won’t disappoint. The southern peninsula of Bali is host to an array of world-class beach clubs to cater to all demands.

Head to Sundays Beach Club if it’s true hedonistic pleasures and private VIP treatment you’re after. This spot is tucked away below a five-star resort, and the staff will wait on you hand and foot from your boozy breakfast right up until sunset. Whereas, for family-friendly fun, Roosterfish is the best beach club in Uluwatu. Beach volleyball set-ups, swim-up bars, and Instagram swings make this spot on Pandawa beach a fun day out for everyone. Finally, Uluwatu’s hidden appeal is the vibrant party scene of its beach clubs. Savaya is the most famous Saturday night spot in Bali, and world-famous DJs grace the levitating levels of this club every weekend.

What time do clubs close in Bali?

Most bars and clubs in Bali, especially the beach clubs, close around midnight. Restrictions around public drinking and consuming alcohol past these times limit the number of venues that can operate beyond 1 am. Yet, it’s not hard to find the few underground clubs and speakeasy bars that run until the early hours on Fridays and Saturdays, some as late as 5 am for the real night owls.

Where is the best place to go in Bali for nightlife?

The most famous areas for partying in Bali are Seminyak and Kuta, with their longstanding reputations as the epicenters of Bali’s nightlife. Famous clubs like ShiShi , Warehouse , and La Favela promise world-renowned DJs and raging dance floors until the early hours. However, in recent years, the hippie town of Canggu has started to thrive as a nightlife hotspot, with haunts like The Vault and Morabito Art Villa opening their doors.

To match Canggu’s underground and elusive vibe comes a spike in speakeasy-style venues like Shady Pig and Behind The Green Door that welcome visitors with exclusive guest lists and secret code words needed to pass. Another newer contender to Bali’s party scene is Uluwatu, which is home to the island’s most famous beach club, Savaya, hosting iconic views of the Indian Ocean and the most coveted events.

Our 15 Favorite Beach Clubs in Bali (2024)

Article last updated on Sep 05, 2024. Written by Olivia & Dirk , based on our 5 years in Bali ( let us plan your honeymoon ).

Our 15 Favorite Beach Clubs in Bali (2024)

Bali boasts some of the best Beach Clubs in the world. Most of them can be found facing the Indian Ocean just north of Bali’s airport, near the towns of Seminyak and Canggu . Another region with fancy ocean-front Day Clubs is Uluwatu , however often they are on a cliff, so while you can view the ocean, its hard to reach the actual beach!

We believe a visit to a Beach Club is a must-do during any Bali honeymoon or vacation as a couple. We have been living in Bali for over 6 years and have visited many, sometimes together as a couple and sometimes with friends. Below are our favorites.

Couples visiting Bali might also be interested in our list of best wellness , fine dining , most luxury hotels or private pool villas in Bali.

1. Tropical Temptation (Melasti Beach)

catamaran beach club uluwatu

Tropical Temptation is a luxury bohemian-styled Beach Club on one of the best beaches in South Bali. We have visited this beach club twice, read our full review here . What we like: its artsy, with classy vibes, stunning views over the ocean and cliffs of Melasti Beach, offers great food and is relatively affordable for a beach club. Melasti Beach is close to Uluwatu and Nusa Dua . You'll reach the beach by following a spectacular road down the cliffs. In our view Tropical Temptation is the best beach club in the area, with multiple pools, lots of options for healthy food. If you book a daybed here, you will have to pay a minimum spend starting at around 1 million IDR (65 USD) for a couple, but we would recommend going for the first row of beds which have a slightly higher minimum spend.

2. El Kabron (Uluwatu)

catamaran beach club uluwatu

Its on a cliff, so technically not a beach club, but otherwise El Kabron checks all the boxes. It overlooks the Indian Ocean on a spot with great sunset views, has a large infinity pool and relaxed seating surrounded by beautiful palm trees. All in all, the atmosphere here is really amazing and perfect for couples.

Food at El Kabron is Spanish-inspired. If you love authentic tapas and seafood, you'll have a great time here. To enjoy a day bed here you will need to spend at least 1 million rupia (around 65$).

3. KU DE TA (Seminyak)

catamaran beach club uluwatu

Kudeta is the Indonesian word for coup d'état , an attempt to overthrow a government. The Ku De Ta beach club in Seminyak is very peaceful however. It is one of the most well known beach clubs in Bali, right in front of Seminyak beach. A large daybed, good for 2-3 people, can be booked in advance on their website for 2.4 million rupia, a large part of which is returned in credits which you can use to order cocktails or food.

In some beach clubs, food is not so great: people will come anyway for the views. Ku De Ta is different, here the food is of excellent quality. You can have a full dinner here, including wood-fired steak, but also order small dishes to enjoy while watching the sun set into the Indian Ocean (Ku De Ta is greatly positioned to watch sunset). We recommend trying the octopus or the tuna tartar.

4. La Brisa (Canggu)

catamaran beach club uluwatu

La Brisa in Canggu is hard to describe as its a very unique place. Its a bunch of simple wooden buildings surrounded by palm trees and with a pool in between. But somehow it all fits perfectly together, making it our favorite spot to hang out in Canggu , especially as the sun is setting. Food here is excellent as well, we love their poke bowl. The amount of sunbeds and relaxed seating options here is limited compared to some of the other beach clubs. They have a lot of bean bags on the beach but they fill up fast. In any case, it is a very nice place to escape from the bustle of Canggu for a few hours - especially during sunset times.

5. Palmilla (Uluwatu)

catamaran beach club uluwatu

Melasti Beach in South Bali is one of our favorite beaches, as it has beautiful white sand bordering a crystal blue ocean that is great fun to swim and play in due to the playful size of the waves. Palmilla Beach Club can be found right on this beach.

Palmilla features a large pool and luxury sunbeds. Food and drinks here are simple but decent. Entrance fee is around 10$ for general seating, but a higher minimum spend is required to enjoy the nicer options like the gazebo's. Do note you won't catch sunset here as it is facing south.

6. Potatohead (Seminyak)

catamaran beach club uluwatu

Potato Head is more than a beachclub: it is a creative village by the ocean where music, art, design, food and wellness come together. It is located in Petitenget, the area on the north side of Seminyak where many fancy beach clubs are. The beach club features an infinity pool and often has a DJ playing in the late afternoon. Many restaurants are available at Potato Head, but you can also order food right to your daybed.

While its possible to reserve a daybed at the beach club, most spots are first-come first-serve. The beach club opens at 9AM and fills up fast, so its worth showing up early. No entrance fee is charged, however in order to claim a bed at the beach club a minimum spend of 500.000 Rupia is required.

We love Potato Head because its very artistic. The facade of the main building is designed from thousands of recycled wooded windows, creating a colorful vibe. Upon entrance you will walk past the 5000 Lost Soles piece of art, a colorful arrangement of flipflops found on Bali's beaches. Couples love taking selfies between all the art that can be found at Potato Head.

7. Single Fin (Uluwatu)

catamaran beach club uluwatu

Not exactly a beach club, Single Fin is right on top of the cliff of Uluwatu. However we like to visit Single Fin for their cocktails, especially during sunset. Uluwatu is known as one of the most challenging surf spots in the world, and from Single Fin you have an excellent view over the waves and experienced surfers during the day. At night there are often parties.

Recently Single Fin opened a pool area, making it an even more desirable place to hang out for a couple of hours during the day. Do note that around sunset the place usually gets very crowded. Tip if the crowds get too much for you: for sunset you could walk down into the cave below the cliff if its high tide.

8. Sundays Beach Club (Uluwatu)

catamaran beach club uluwatu

On a beautiful secluded white sand beach down from the South Bali cliffs you'll find the Sundays beach club. To get down to the beach, expect to take a breathtaking elevator down. While Sundays does accept walk in guests, we recommend booking one of the VIP Day Beds well in advance, which is pricey but most of the fee can be used to order food and drinks. Visitors can enjoy the crystal-clear blue waters by swimming, but depending on the tides can also borrow one of the kayaks or stand-up-paddle boards.

9. The Lawn (Canggu)

catamaran beach club uluwatu

We love The Lawn. Very relaxing beach club right at the end of Batu Bolong, overlooking Canggu's black sand beach. During the day The Lawn is a calm beach club, but at night its one of the most popular places for nightlife. The Lawn offers views of the ocean with quite large waves - you can often watch surfers from here.

The extensive menu caters to diverse preferences with high quality food. We can confidently recommend this spot not just for its stunning ambiance but for the culinary escapade it offers.

10. Woobar (Seminyak)

catamaran beach club uluwatu

The Woobar is part of W Bali, a luxury hotel with a futuristic entrance that will impress any visitor (we felt like we walked into a James Bond movie). The beach bar area features a pool inspired by Indonesian rice layered rice terraces overlooking the Petitenget beach in Seminyak with the Indian Ocean in the distance. You can book a daybed (which fits up to 4 people) in advance via their website. This requires a minimum spend of 2 million rupia (roughly 130$) for the group as a whole. While food at the Woobar is decent, we believe the drinks are at another level. Definitely try some of their cocktails. Adventurous couples might want to give their zero-waste cocktails a try: its where Woobar aims to reduce leftover ingredients as garnishes and ingredients to create some unique drinks.

11. Azul (Seminyak)

catamaran beach club uluwatu

A bit of a hidden gem. Azul Beach Club can be found on the second floor of a bamboo building right across the street from Legian's beach, between Seminyak and Kuta. This might not classify Azul as a beachclub in the most literal sense, as it is separated from the beach by a set of stairs and a road. However we think it still is a great option to spend a couple of hours relaxing, so we have included it in this overview anyway.

From the bamboo building you can overlook the Indian Ocean. Azul features a large pool and several cozy seating options, which unfortunately cannot be booked in advance, except for the premium cabana. A minimum spend of 250k rupia (around 18$) per person is expected. A nice feature of Azul is the relaxing whirpool.

12. Infinity Beach Club (Seminyak)

catamaran beach club uluwatu

The Infinity Beach Club is a serene place with a large pool facing the Indian Ocean. Don't expect loud music here, this place stays pretty calm all day. But it is a great spot to take picturesque photos. Kids are not allowed at this infinity pool area, making it a great choice for couples on a honeymoon.

While it is part of the luxury Seminyak Hotel, non-guests can book a sunbed online. A day pass costs 500k rupia per person (roughly 33$), a large part of which can be used as credit for food and drinks.

13. One Eighty (Uluwatu)

catamaran beach club uluwatu

One Eighty is a clifftop day club with a scary glass-bottom sky pool stretching 6 meters over the cliff, allowing couples to get an amazing view of the Indian Ocean and green cliffs of South Bali. Great relaxing vibes and beautiful sceneries.

Admission is roughly 35$ per person, of which most can be spend on food and drinks. If you are up for a fun combination: part of the same complex is fine dining restaurant The Cave, a romantic underground tasting experience.

14. Cafe del Mar (Canggu)

catamaran beach club uluwatu

Made famous in Ibiza, now in Bali too. Cafe del Mar is a modern ocean-front beach club between Canggu and Seminyak . This is one of the more higher end beach clubs in the Canggu area. Daybeds (good for up to 6 people according to the website, but we believe that would be tight, they're better for couples) start at 1.5 million rupia (around 100$) minimum spend.

Service here is really top-notch, and the food is first-class too. They have great oysters as well as many cocktails to choose from. Cafe del Mar is, due to its steaper pricing, often a little less crowded than some of the other beach clubs in Seminyak and Canggu. One thing to note is that there is a river floating between the beach club and the actual beach, making it hard to enjoy the beach itself.

15. Atlas (Canggu)

catamaran beach club uluwatu

Atlas Beach Fest claims to be the largest beach club in the world, and we would not be surprised if this is actually true. This massive new development can be found on the Berawa side of Canggu . The big facade of the building through which you enter the premise is an adventure in itself. Once inside, many shops, restaurants and pools can be found. The club is well positioned to enjoy the Bali sunset.

We'll be honest, as we don't think this is the most romantic place. But if you would like to experience the largest beach club in the world: go for it! Most people book a daybed in advance. A nice feature is that when you book these in advance on the website, you can choose the exact spot where you'll be seated. All rupia spend towards your reservation can be used for food and drinks. But even without a daybed you can enter Atlas Beach Club, you will just be charged roughly 15$ each for entrance. After dark, you can enjoy another record-breaker: the Atlas Super Club is the largest nightclub in Bali.

Bali is home to some of the best beach clubs in the world. There’s something for everyone from parties with international DJ’s, luxurious or laid-back spaces to spend the day relaxing by the beach, chill sunset drinks, and family-friendly beach clubs. We have been to our fair share of Beach clubs all over Bali, including Uluwatu and the Bukit Peninsula, Seminyak, Canggu, Jimbaran, Nusa Dua, Legian and Nusa Lembongan. Here are our favourite picks for the best beach clubs in Bali and why we think you’ll love them too.

Best Beach Clubs In Uluwatu + Bukit Peninsula

Sundays beach club.

Located below The Ungasan Clifftop Resort , Sundays beach club is one of the best beach clubs in Bali. Take a funicular ride down to the private beach where you will find stunning white sand and clear blue water. Although do keep in mind when tides are low it can be a little rocky and less pretty. At the beach, you will find a restaurant, sun loungers, bean bags and some complimentary water sports available like stand-up paddle boards, kayaks and snorkelling. We love Sundays beach club as it’s super relaxing, not too big and the area is beautiful. They also have beach bonfires and music at sunset.

We haven’t made it to Cafe del Mar yet, as this is one of the newest beach clubs in Bali, but we have had it recommended to us. With whitewashed buildings, this Mediterranean style beach club looks pretty nice. From what we can see in reviews, the ambience is more party vibes with loud dance music playing. If you head there, let us know in the comments what you think.
