Zwei besondere Eigenschaften lassen Solaris aus dem Gros der europäischen Werften herausstechen: • 35 Jahre Erfahrung im Refit von Segelyachten jeder Größe und Qualität aus aller Welt; • die Lage der Werft an der Adria, die Handwerkern und Technikern die Möglichkeit bietet, jede technische Lösung zunächst auf dem Wasser zu testen, bevor sie zur Produktion freigegeben wird. Solaris unterhält seit der Gründung eine spezialisierte Abteilung für Reparatur und Aufarbeitung von Segelyachten - ob Custombau oder Serienyacht. Über Jahre gewonnene Erfahrung und zahllose Tests auf dem Wasser zeigen, dass sich viele Segelyachten unter dem Einfluss der Kräfte von Wind und See verwinden oder deformieren. Ein dauerndes Knarren, Türen, die nicht schließen oder über die Jahre auftretende Haarrisse sind nur einige Symptome. Vor diesem Hintergrund gibt es bei der Konstruktion einer jeden Solaris eine Priorität: die Yacht muss absolut verwindungssteif sein und ... es darf keine Verformung geben. Anders als bei vielen anderen Herstellern, die bis zu fünf verschiedene Werkstoffe verwenden, findet beim Bau der Solaris-Yachten nur ein Material Verwendung: Glasfaser. Ein Komposit- Hauptschott an Rumpf und Deck anlaminiert, eine Komposit-Bodengruppe aus einzeln anlaminierten Wrangen und Stringern, Komposit-Püttinge, eine Rumpf-Deck-Verbindung mit breitem Flansch innerhalb des GFK- Süllrandes. Kein Stahlrahmen, keine angeklebten Holz-Schotten, keine geklebten Innenschalen. Wenn alle tragenden Elemente aus dem gleichen Material gebaut sind, haben sie auch die gleichen mechanischen Eigenschaften, was einen optimalen Kraftschluss garantiert. Solaris-Yachten bieten seit Jahrzehnten robuste, strukturelle Kontinuität. Das Ergebnis ist ein sichere, zuverlässige Yacht unter allen Bedingungen auf See. Durch Arbeiten an Yachten diverser anderer Hersteller konnten unsere Bootsbauer und Ingenieure Erfahrungen mit vielen verschiedenen Bauweisen und Materialien sammeln. So konnten sie von den Fehlern anderer lernen und die über die Jahre haltbarsten und besten Verfahren und Komponenten identifizieren, die sich im ständigen Einsatz auf See bewähren. Rumpf, Schotten und Bodengruppe, sondern setzt sich in Holzarbeiten, Finish, Auswahl von Beschlägen usw. fort. Es kommen nur Materialien und Teile zur Verwendung, die sich in langen Jahren auf dem Wasser bewährt haben. SOLIDITÄT UND SICHERHEIT

Der erfahrene Weltumsegler Enrico Tettamanti (mehr als 100.000 Seemeilen und 7 Kap Horn- Umrundungen) hat nach der Besichtigung des Baus einer Solaris 72 entschieden, seinen Traum einer fünf-jährigen Weltumsegelung auf unüblichen und noch unbekannten Routen mit dieser Yacht in die Tat umzusetzen. Solaris verwendet ausschließlich beste Materialien, auch an Stellen, wo es nicht augenfällig wird. Alle Yachten (auch die kleinen) sind nach den strengen Kriterien für Maxi Ocean Yachts gebaut. Das Hauptschott und die anderen strukturellen Schotten sind mit einer minimalen Stärke von 40 mm laminiert. Sie sind nicht nur an den Rumpf, sondern auch an das Deck anlaminiert und nicht unter Verwendung von Silikon angeklebt. Die Verbindung von Rumpf und Deck einer Solaris ist extrem steif und solide und in diesem Segment praktisch einzigartig. Sie ist zu zeitintensiv und aufwändig um im Serienbootsbau unter Kostendruck industrialisiert zu werden. Rumpf, ... Deck, tragende Schotten, Bodengruppe und Püttinge werden zu einem strukturellen “Käfig” verbunden. Dieser verwindet und deformiert sich nicht, wenn auf See die Kräfte von Mast, stehendem Gut und Kiel auf ihn einwirken. Die Tatsache, dass beim Bau keine laminierte Innenschale zum Einsatz kommt, erleichtert die Inspektion von Bilge und Kielbolzen. Auch der Ausbau wird zum strukturellen Element, da die Möbel an den Rumpf anlaminiert werden. Die Püttinge bestehen nicht aus Stahl, sondern aus 28 Lagen von uni- und bidirektionalen Glasfasermatten, die unter Vakuum laminiert werden. Der Kiel ist mit einem Kupplungs-Flansch aus Edelstahl (AISI 316) in einer Stärke von 30 mm aufwärts (gemäss Yacht Grösse) an der Gegenplatte mit zwölf Edelstahl Bolzen von mindestens 30 mm Durchmesser befestigt. Beim Bau einer Solaris setzt die Werft nur auf bewährte und sichere Komponenten und Verfahren. So garantiert Solaris dem Eigner sicheres und entspanntes Segeln auch unter extremen Bedingungen. Um diesem hohen Anspruch zu genügen, müssen folgende Voraussetzungen erfüllt sein: • langjährige Erfahrung des Solaris Design-Teams. Unsere Ingenieure haben über 35 Jahre Praxis in Entwurf und Bau von Yachten von 36 bis 80 Fuß; • enge Zusammenarbeit unserer Ingenieure mit den Konstrukteuren. Es kommen modernste Programme wie z.B. FEA (Finite Element Analysis), VPP (Velocity Prediction Programme) usw. zum Einsatz; • Test im Versuchstank zur Reduzierung des Schleppwiderstandes und Seatrials zur Überprüfung auftretender Belastungen; • laufende und sorgfältige Kontrollen aller eingesetzten Materialien, insbesondere der Harze, Glasfasern und Hölzer; • die Passion jedes einzelnen Solaris-Mitarbeiters für höchste Qualität. WARUM SIND SOLARIS YACHTEN SO SOLIDE UND STEIF?

Auf allen Solaris Modellen sind die strukturellen Teile, die die Lasten einer Yacht auf See aufnehmen, großzügig dimensioniert und mit hohen Sicherheitsreserven berechnet. Eine Segelyacht ist ein ausgesprochen komplexes Gebilde und muß die Kräfte der Elemente Luft und Wasser, denen sie ausgesetzt ist, aushalten und optimal nutzen. Diese Kräfte können erheblich sein: so kann z.B. der Druck des Riggs auf den Mastfuß dem Gesamtgewicht des Schiffs entsprechen. Ziel für Konstrukteure und Werft ist es, die Solaris- Yachten so steif und stabil zu bauen, dass sie solchen Belastungen standhalten ohne sich zu verwinden oder zu deformieren. Insbesondere die Verbindung von Kiel und Rumpf, der Strongback und die Püttinge sind kritische Punkte, an denen gewaltige Kräfte angreifen. An diesen Stellen wird beim Bau der Solaris Yachten erheblicher Aufwand betrieben: ein einlaminiertes 40 mm starkes Komposit-Hauptschott, eine Bodengruppe aus einzeln einlaminierten Wrangen und ... Stringern (keine eingeklebte Innenschale), Komposit-Püttinge wie auf einem One Off- Racer und eine Kiel-Rumpf-Verbindung mit sehr breitem Flansch nehmen die auftretenden Lasten auf und verteilen sie auf die gesamte Struktur der Yacht. Von der Inspiration zur Jungfernfahrt

Der maßgeschneiderte Bau einer modernen Luxus-Motoryacht ist ein Prozess mit vielen Meilensteinen oder, treffender ausgedrückt, eine facettenreiche Entdeckungsreise. Jeder Schritt ist eine außerordentliche Meisterleistung, die dem Besitzer große Freude und den Ingenieuren und Technikern von Lürssen viel fachmännischen Stolz bereitet. Alles beginnt mit einer Inspiration, Ihrer Vision einer Yacht – so individuell wie Ihre Persönlichkeit. In dieser ersten kreativen Phase sind keine Grenzen gesetzt: Alle Vorstellungen und Wünsche sind willkommen. Das Design-Team und die Experten von Lürssen arbeiten gemeinsam mit Ihnen daran, Ihren Traum in 3D-Darstellungen zu visualisieren. Auch wenn viele Aspekte zu diesem Zeitpunkt noch offen sind und in späteren Projektphasen überarbeitet werden müssen, kann mit der endgültigen Genehmigung des Designs die physische Arbeit am Schiff selbst beginnen.

Der erste konkrete Schritt im Schiffbau, der erste Stahlschnitt, ist ein Moment, der mit großer Spannung erwartet und von einer Zeremonie begleitet wird. Das freudige Ereignis wird in der Schiffbauhalle unserer Werft gefeiert, üblicherweise in Anwesenheit des Eigners und des Projektteams. Hier wird aus dem Stahlblech eine kleine Form ausgeschnitten. Dieses Stück wird oft zu einem Schmuckstück auf der Yacht oder zu einem Erinnerungsstück für den Eigner verarbeitet. Von nun an nimmt das Außendesign Ihrer Yacht Schritt für Schritt Form an.

Münzen als Talisman

Nach Beginn der Stahlschneidearbeiten wird als nächstes der Schiffskiel – das Rückgrat der Struktur – gelegt. Erst dann kann mit dem Bau des Rumpfes begonnen werden. Nach einer Tradition, die auf die Anfänge der Schiffbauindustrie zurückgeht, findet eine feierliche Kiellegung statt. Teil des Rituals ist es, vor der Kiellegung eine oder zwei Münzen unter den Kielblock zu legen. Diese bleiben dort, bis das Schiff das Trockendock verlässt. Nach alter Seemanskunde bringen die Münzen dem Schiff Glück, und sie werden später oft an den Rumpf geschweißt.

Feierliche Kiellegung

Dieser Schritt stellt einen der wichtigsten Meilensteine des Schiffbauprozesses dar. Obwohl der Kiel im modernen Schiffbau in der Regel nicht mehr als einzelner Balken, sondern segmentweise verlegt wird, ist es – selbst für erfahrene Schiffbauer und Yachteigner – wahrlich atemberaubend, wenn das erste Modul des Schiffsrumpfes auf den Kielblock abgesenkt wird.

Der Bau geht weiter

Am Bau einer Lürssen Luxus-Motoryacht oder Megayacht sind buchstäblich Hunderte hochqualifizierte und ausgebildete Techniker und Ingenieure beteiligt, die allesamt Spezialisten in verschiedenen Fachgebieten und Disziplinen sind. Dazu gehören Schweißen und andere Formen der Metallbearbeitung, Elektrotechnik, Holzverarbeitung und ein breites Spektrum an Lackier- und Veredelungsverfahren. Ganze Multideck-Segmente des Rumpfes und der Aufbauten werden im Blockbauverfahren gebaut, mit vorinstallierten Techniken wie Rohrleitungen, Elektrik und anderen Komponenten ausgestattet und anschließend im Baudock montiert. Während des mehrjährigen Prozesses arbeitet das Lürssen-Projektteam eng mit der Eignervertretung zusammen. Stapellauf – Die Yacht taucht in ihr Element ein

Ob beim Stapellauf von der Helling oder beim Fluten des Docks, wie es bei den größeren Lürssen Superyachten der Fall ist, – die erste Begegnung des Schiffs mit dem Wasser ist ein spannungsreicher und emotionaler Moment. Zu erleben, wie eine maßgeschneiderte Luxusmotoryacht, das Ergebnis jahrelanger Planung und intensiver Arbeit, zum ersten Mal frei in ihrem Element schwimmt, ist eine der wahren Freuden, die Yachtbesitzer und Yachtbauer gleichermaßen teilen. Je nach Wunsch des Eigners kann die Schiffstaufe zu diesem Zeitpunkt oder bei der Auslieferung stattfinden. Für Schiffstaufen gibt es unterschiedliche Zeremonien, in einigen Fällen konzentrieren sie sich auf die Benennung des Schiffes, in anderen wird außerdem ein Segen von einem Vertreter der Religion des Eigners ausgesprochen. Stapellauf – Unvergessliche Momente

Seeerprobung.

Nach dem Stapellauf erfolgt der Feinschliff bei der Innenausstattung und anderen letzten Details der Yacht. In der Zwischenzeit findet die Seeerprobung mit Vertretern der zuständigen Schifffahrts-Klassifikationsgesellschaft sowie den Eignervertretern an Bord statt. Bevor die endgültige Genehmigung erteilt werden kann, führen die Behörden den Sea Acceptance Test (SAT) durch, wo Parameter wie Hoch- und Höchstgeschwindigkeit, dynamische Position, Navigation, Lärm und Vibrationen, Rettungsbooteinsatz, Stabilisatoren, Temperaturen und Ankerfunktionen überprüft werden.

Mikhail Lomonosov

Born: Denisovka, Archangelsk Province - 19 November 1711 Died: St. Petersburg - 15 April 1765

Mikhail Lomonosov was the great polymath of the Russian Enlightenment. Born in the deepest provinces of Northern Russia, he managed to gain a first-class education through a combination of natural intelligence and sheer force of will, and went on to make significant advances in several fields of science, as well as writing one of the first Russian grammars, several volumes of history, and a great quantity of poetry. In short, he was instrumental in pulling Russia further into the modern world, and in helping to make St. Petersburg a centre of learning as great as almost any in Europe.

Lomonosov was born in the village of Denisovka (now Lomonosovo), a village about 100 kilometers south-east of Arkhangelsk on the Severnaya Dvina river. His father was a peasant fisherman who had grown rich transporting goods from Arkhangelsk to settlements in the far north. His mother, the daughter of a deacon, died when he was very young, but not before she had taught him to read. From the age of ten, he accompanied his father on voyages to learn the business.

In 1730, however, determined to study, he ran away from home and walked over 1 000 kilometers to Moscow. Claiming to be the son of a provincial priest, he was able to enroll in the Slavic Greek Latin Academy, where he studied for five years before being sent on to St. Petersburg's Academic University. The following year (1736), he was a select group of outstanding students sponsored by the Academy of Sciences to study mathematics, chemistry, physics, philosophy and metallurgy in Western Europe. Lomonosov spent three years at the University of Marburg as a personal student of the philosopher Christian Wolff, then a year studying mining and metallurgy in Saxony, and a further year travelling in Germany and the Low Countries. While in Marburg, he fell in love with and married his landlady's daughter, Elizabeth Christine Zilch.

Due to lack of funds to support his young family, Lomonosov returned to St. Petersburg at the end of 1741, and was immediately appointed adjunct to the physics class at the Academy of Sciences. In 1745 he became the Academy's first Russian-born Professor of Chemistry, and in 1748 the first chemical research laboratory in Russia was built for him.

Throughout his career at the Academy, Lomonosov was a passionate advocate for making education in Russia more accessible to the lower ranks of Russian society. He campaigned to give public lectures in Russian and for the translation into Russian of more scientific texts. In this, he found himself in conflict with one of the founders of the Academy, the German ethnologist Gerhard Friedrich Miller (whose views on the importance of Scandinavians and Germans in Russian history Lomonosov also hotly disputed). By composing and presenting at an official Assembly of the Academy in 1749 his ode to the Empress Elizaveta Petrovna, Lomonosov gained considerable favour at court and a powerful ally in his pedagogical endeavours in the form of Elizaveta's lover, Count Ivan Shuvalov. Together, Lomonosov and Shuvalov founded Moscow University in 1755. It was also thanks to Shuvalov's influence that the Empress granted Lomonosov a manor and four surrounding villages at Ust-Ruditsa, where he was able to implement his plan to open a mosaic and glass factory, the first outside Italy to produce stained glass mosaics.

By 1758, Lomonosov's responsibilities included overseeing the Academy's Geography Department, Historical Assembly, University and Gymnasium, the latter of which he again insisted on making open to lowborn Russians. In 1760, he was appointed a foreign member of the Swedish Royal Academy of Sciences, and in 1764 he was similarly honoured by the Academy of Sciences of the Institute of Bologna. The same year, he was granted by Elizaveta Petrovna the rank of Secretary of State. He died 4 April 1765, and was buried in the Lazarev Cemetery of St. Petersburg's Alexander Nevsky Monastery.

Much of Lomonosov's work was unknown outside Russia until many years after his death, and even now it is more the extraordinary breadth of his inquiry and understanding, rather than any specific grand advancements in a particular field, that make him such a seminal figure in Russian science. Among the highlights of his academic career were his discovery of an atmosphere around Venus, his assertion of the Law of Conservation of Mass (nearly two decades before Antoine Lavoisier), and his development of a prototype of the Herschelian telescope. In 1764, he arranged the expedition along the northern coast of Siberia that discovered the Northeast Passage between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. His works also contained intuitions of the wave theory of light and the theory of continental drift. He made improvements to navigational instruments and demonstrated the organic origin of soil, peat, coal, petroleum and amber. Without knowledge of Da Vinci's work, he developed a working prototype of a helicopter.

He wrote the first guide to rhetoric in the Russian language, and his Russian Grammar was among the first to codify the language. His Ancient Russian History compared the development of Russia to the development of the Roman Empire, a theme that would become increasingly popular in the 19th century. His poetry was much praised during his lifetime, although it has been largely ignored by posterity.

Lomonosov is remembered in central St. Petersburg in the names of Ulitsa Lomonosova ("Lomonosov Street"), Ploshchad Lomonosova ("Lomonosov Square") and the adjacent bridge across the Fontanka River. During the Soviet Period, his name was given to the Imperial Porcelain Manufactory, and hence to the nearby metro station, Lomonosovskaya. The Soviets also renamed the suburban town of Oranienburg as Lomonosovo. In 1986, a magnificent monument to Lomonosov was unveiled in front of the Twelve Colleges, the main campus of St. Petersburg State University, acknowledging the enormous debt that institution owes the great polymath who is rightfully considered the father of Russian science.
