NERO is an all-modern superyacht with classically-inspired lines. She was designed in the ’spirit of Corsair’ - a yacht launched in the 1930s and belonging to famed American financier, J.P. Morgan. NERO embodies all the glamour of yachting’s golden age and is widely regarded as an icon of the superyacht world thanks to her style, sophistication, and superlative onboard amenities.

NERO, the queen of any anchorage anywhere in the world, has an all-new state-of-the-art gym on the sun deck with top-of-the-range Technogym kit including a Kinesis, treadmill, cross trainer and a cardio bike. You will also find loose weights and everything needed for yoga and pilates including a qualified physical trainer as part of the crew.

Another new feature is the beauty salon on the upper deck, complete with a professional Nilo chair, which not only enables manicures, pedicures and hair treatments, but also converts into a massage table. After your treatment by the crew's very own beautician and masseuse you can freshen up in the en suite bathroom and shower and emerge energised and ready to take on the world. She also has a second massage room if you need a change of scene.

Outside she looks utterly immaculate following a full repaint and deck refresh. Inside the great Laura Pomponi has introduced new handmade carpets throughout and a new hardwood floor in the sky lounge, new soft furnishings and fabrics, new sofas in the main guest areas and a scattering of new artworks.

Younger guests will also be delighted to know about the upgraded Icon AV/IT system, which enables streaming for all devices and a genuinely theatrical experience in the observation lounge cinema. They will also be delighted to find out about the two new pizza ovens in the completely rebuilt galley.

It's not just NERO that's received all the love, her distinctive 9.5m Corsair custom-built tender has been completely refitted so guests can arrive in impeccable style. Superyacht fans around the world will instantly recognize Nero , the one-of-a-kind 295-footer that defines the term “modern classic.” First launched from Corsair Yachts in 2007, Nero was commissioned as a replica of the famed 300-foot Corsair IV owned by J.P. Morgan, which, when launched in 1930, was the world’s largest yacht.

British entrepreneur Neil Taylor loved the look of Corsair IV , but didn’t want the expense of restoring a vintage yacht—which would’ve been impossible with Corsair , since it had transitioned into a high-end cruise ship in Asia and eventually sank off the coast of Mexico. Instead, Taylor set about building a beautiful replica with a modern hull and interior.

Taylor actually established the Yantai Raffles Shipyard in China and hired 400 workers to build the yacht, which took nearly four years to complete. Two years after her delivery, she took Best Motor Yacht over 246 feet in the ShowBoats International Design Awards. The 1930s lookalike has since undergone two major refits, the latest just completed at San Giorgio del Porto in Genoa, Italy, to become an even more modern version of the original classic.

Nero’s new gym was installed to make the yacht more relevant in today’s superyacht world. 

“ Nero ’s original build was fairly complex, so this refit was a great opportunity to technically upgrade her to the latest regulations,” Capt. Marcel Busse told Robb Report . “I’ve overseen numerous large refits on other boats, but this one takes the cake on many levels.”

The icing on that cake is the sundeck gym filled with Technogym equipment, including a Kinesis, treadmill, cross trainer and cardio bike. The area also has loose weights, yoga and Pilates equipment and, naturally, a certified physical trainer is part of the crew. A large Jacuzzi just steps away on the sundeck makes a perfect post-workout de-stressor.

“It used to be a ‘snug’ salon, but was underused,” says Busse. “Now it’s a fully-fledged gym with mirror-fronted storage lockers, fridge and TV. We’ve got a lot of space on the sun deck, which is monstrous compared to other boats of her size.” An 18.7-foot-long resistance pool is also located on the foredeck. The original gym has become a beauty salon and massage area.

The interior was also updated with lighter-colored woods and decor for a Hampton’s beach-cottage look. 

Nero ’s owners have been careful to preserve its inimitable historical look, including the long bowsprit and yellow funnel in the center. The sleek exterior lines that herald the golden age of yachting haven’t been touched, though her striking black hull and superstructure have received a fresh coat of paint. One key area that has been rehabbed: The air-conditioning system, which could spell the difference between heaven and misery on such a large yacht. “It’s key for a black-hulled boat like Nero ,” says Busse.

Nero underwent a nine-month refit five years ago that included an updated interior by designer Laura Pomponi. “The owners spent a lot of time and money in 2016 upgrading the interior from dark wood to lime-washed wood with light-colored carpets,” says Busse. “We’ve maintained the lime wash and given the interior a Hamptons beach-house vibe.”

Pomponi was brought back for Nero ’s most recent refit, giving the interior turquoise hues with blue and red accents. Handmade carpets run throughout, including the owner’s duplex suite with separate lounge, study and his-and-hers bathrooms. Most soft furnishings, fabrics and sofas have been replaced. In the sky lounge bar, a new maple-and-oak hardwood floor delivers a wow factor in what looks like a classic yacht.

For onboard entertainment, a newly installed and upgraded Icon Connect AV/IT system delivers the latest technology. A collection of water toys, including an inflatable slide, keep everyone happy in the water.

As part of the refit, Nero ’s original custom 31-ft. limousine tender also got a makeover, with new paint and varnish, upholstery and interior lights to update her classic beauty.

Despite the classic look, Busse says the yacht has a modern hull that cruises well at 14 knots, while consuming the same amount of fuel most yachts her size would use at 12 knots. “She has two sets of stabilizers, giving her four in total, so she’s quite stable,” he says.

Nero and her tender are instantly recognizable anywhere in the world. 

Nero is available for charter in the Med through Burgess Yachts, with weekly charters starting at about $590,000.

Superyacht Nero is an incredible vessel whose sleek lines and classic exterior heralds the golden age of private yachting. Styled to resemble J.Pierpont Morgan’s famous yacht Corsair, Nero was completed in 2008 by Corsair Yachts’ at the Chinese shipyard, Yantai Raffles. With a huge promenade deck, numerous exterior seating and dining areas as well as an arsenal of luxurious amenities and incredible water toys, Nero is the premier charter yacht for those wanting to entertain or just bask in the sumptuous atmosphere of a truly elegant vessel.

Nero has a top speed of 17 knots and an economical cruising speed of twelve knots, Nero is fast, quiet and exceedingly comfortable. The dazzling interior enjoys traditional panelling of Limed Oak and Ash throughout, completing the gorgeous feel of the vintage yachting era. Nero is able to accommodate twelve guests within her lovely walls: an immense Owner’s suite, two immense suites and two twin cabins. The Owner’s suite is effectively a duplex apartment with full beam living quarters on the main deck, where there is a stateroom with his and hers bathrooms and a central shared dressing room. The Owner’s study, large and with windows on three sides, lays aft of this and holds a relaxation area with a writing desk, private dining area and a sixty five inch plasma TV. A large drop down screen in front of the fireplace can be lowered to transform this area into the yachts indoor cinema. From the observation lounge is the Owner’s oval office which has its own entry door from the port side deck for discreet arrivals and departures. Guest accommodations lie amidships on the lower deck with two spacious suites separated by two centrally located twin cabins. The aft suite has a sitting room, stateroom and his and hers bathrooms as well as a central dressing room; this suite can be divided into two separate cabins with their own bathrooms. The forward suite has a sitting room, stateroom, large VIP bathroom with spa bath, walk-in shower and separate WC. Both of the twin cabins can be configured as twin or double cabins. All of the cabins and sitting rooms feature large plasma TV’s and every bathroom contains both a tub and a shower. WiFi is available throughout the ship’s public and private areas.

Nero’s exterior features a quantity of the highest quality Burmese Teak and has been configured so that the main deck is the principle entertaining area for large gathering with the aft deck table being ideally suited for over-sized dinner parties. The spacious main salon, library and dining salon also offer the ability to entertain on a grand scale. The boat deck aft features a fifty inch pop-up TV and drop down movie screen making it a popular area for alfresco entertainment and relaxation. The Snug is a fantastic place to escape from the midday heat or to host a cozy meal. Other onboard facilities include a gym, Jacuzzi, five metre pool on the foredeck with a current machine and an incredible eighteen foot side hatch that acts as a beach platform for swimming, diving and yacht access.

Nero comes equipped with a serious battery of toys and tenders: two Seabobs, five jet skis and an assortment of water toys as well as a nine metre custom cabin cruiser, eight metre custom tender and a five metre RIB tender.

Nero is available for charter in the Mediterranean for the summer season and the Caribbean and the Bahamas during the winter season.

Inspired by J.P Ridley’s Golden Age CORSAIR IV yacht, the NERO’s design reflects chic styles and an opulent aesthetic on the water.

She was designed by Neil Taylor and built by Yantai Raffles Shipyard in China. She features interior design by Laura Pomponi.

Delivered in 2007 as an excellent replica of the classic 1930s superyacht, she is the epitome of luxury on the water.

Neil Taylor commissioned the interior of the NERO yacht to reflect the appearance of J.P Ridley’s 1930s luxury vessel, CORSAIR IV. Laura Pomponi from Luxury Projects created the interior design.

She features deluxe furnishings and a contemporary style throughout the yacht, with subtle blue hues, lime oak, and sleek marble.

The head-turning vessel has accommodations for 12 guests in 6 cabins with one master suite, one VIP, two doubles, two twins, and two convertible rooms.

Accommodations for 21 crew members in 10 cabins ensure a luxury guest stay on the water.

The owner’s duplex is large and offers his and her bathrooms, a private study, an office, and a lounge.

The amenities include expansive deck spaces inside and out for sunbathing, relaxing, and lounging. The deck jacuzzi is perfect for sea views while soaking in the bubbles.

The yacht has a state-of-the-art gym on the sun deck that includes top-of-the-range equipment for pilates, yoga, cross-training, cardio bike, treadmill, etc. A qualified trainer is also on board to complement the fully equipped gym.

The yacht has a beauty salon on the upper deck, with a beautician and masseuse on board. Relaxing in the evening is easy with the state-of-the-art movie theatre on board.

The yacht features a pool and a host of swimming options that include water slides from the top deck and a swimming platform. The boat has a host of water toys, including jet skis and towable toys.

The exterior design of the NERO yacht is by Neil Taylor and is inspired by the elegance of the 1920s.

The vessel is truly outstanding on the water and features streamlined exterior lines and a classic appearance.

Rigging, a yellow funnel, a black hull, and a cream upper body give NERO a distinguished appearance on the water. She is a custom build from Yantai CIMC Raffles Shipyard in China and was delivered in 2007.

More recently, she underwent major refits in 2021, adding many more luxury features, including the furnishings in the interior.

Specifications

The NERO yacht is a high-performance yacht with a length of 90.1m, a beam of 12.03m, and a draft of 4.42m. She is powered by twin MAK engines, giving her a cruising speed of 14 knots and a maximum speed of 17 knots.

She has a range of 4500 nautical miles and a displacement of 1384 gross tons. The $70 million yacht has an annual operating cost of $4 – $7 million.

NERO features advanced stabilizers for ultimate comfort levels while onboard. She has won several awards for her impressive design features.

Il super yacht Bayesian era assicurato fino a due miliardi: basteranno a coprire le spese legali?

Il massimale assicurativo del Bayesian secondo il «Sun». Lo yacht era gestito dalla società di yachting Camper & Nicholsons, che ora potrebbe dover affrontare una battaglia legale. L’imbarcazione valeva circa 30 milioni di euro e affittarla costava circa 200 mila euro a settimana

Fino a due miliardi di dollari. Secondo il Sun sarebbe questo il massimale assicurativo del Bayesian , il maxi veliero della Perini Navi affondato al largo di Palermo con a bordo 22 persone . Questa tipologia di imbarcazioni ha in genere un’assicurazione P&I “ Protection e indemnity ”, che copre le richieste di risarcimento per la responsabilità civile, compresi i danni ambientali, mentre vengono sottoscritte polizze separate " Hull and machinery " per lo scafo e i macchinari (come la casco per le auto). È questa la polizza più frequentemente scelta da chi affitta yacht e vuole proteggere l’imbarcazione dai danni legati a incidenti, furti o atti vandalici.

La valutazione dei danni

Per la valutazione dei danni materiali le compagnie assicurative prenderanno in considerazione vari fattori: il valore dello yacht, la sua età e lo stato di manutenzione, il Bayesian era stato ristrutturato nel 2020 ed è stato realizzato nel 2008. Pesa poi il tipo di navigazione (navigazione in acque interne, costiere o oceaniche) e l’esperienza del comandante e dell’equipaggio. Tutte informazioni che sono al vaglio degli inquirenti e che emergeranno nel corso delle indagini della Procura di Termini Imerese, guidata dal procuratore Ambrogio Cartosio e chiamata a ricostruire i fatti e a valutare eventuali negligenze.

La possibile battaglia legale

Ad oggi sappiamo che il Bayesian era gestito dalla società di yachting Camper & Nicholsons che potrebbe dover affrontare una battaglia legale nei prossimi mesi. Nel mirino le possibili negligenze da parte del capitano neozelandese James Cutfield , testimone chiave nelle indagini. Molto però dipenderà dalla valutazione dei rischi in riferimento al meteo che ha sorpreso il veliero. Matthew Schanck, presidente del Maritime Search and Rescue Council con sede nel Regno Unito ha dichiarato all’Ap: «Se si trattasse di una tromba d'acqua, come sembra, sarebbe un evento che classificherei come un cigno nero». E quindi imprevedibile.

Si tratterebbe dei corpi di due uomini

Bayesian, ritrovati due corpi all'interno del veliero, ricerche sospese, riprenderanno domani mattina.

Sono state sospese le ricerche dell'ultimo disperso del veliero affondato all'alba di lunedì a Porticello. I sommozzatori dei Vigili del fuoco e della Guardia costiera dopo il recupero della quarta salma e l'individuazione del quinto corpo hanno sospeso le immersioni. A questo punto manca solo il sesto disperso, con ogni probabilità la figlia di Mike Lynch. Le ricerche riprenderanno domani mattina.

Al lavoro 27 sommozzatori dei vigili del fuoco

Sono 4 i corpi senza vita recuperati dai sommozzatori dei vigili del fuoco nel pomeriggio di oggi all'interno del Bayesian, adagiato a circa 50 metri sui fondali davanti a Porticello, nel palermitano. Un'operazione estremamente delicata questa condotta dai sommozzatori del Corpo nazionale, con il coordinamento della Guardia Costiera. Alla delicatezza per la profondità impegnativa cui stanno lavorando e che rende necessario ridurre i tempi di immersione di ciascun team composto da due unità che si alternano senza soluzione di continuità, si aggiunge la ristrettezza degli ambienti da esplorare e la presenza di numerosi oggetti che ostacolano la penetrazione. È una «piccola Concordia» hanno detto i 4 di loro che parteciparono ai soccorsi alla nave della Costa naufragata il 12 gennaio 2012 davanti all'Isola del Giglio. Il dispositivo di soccorso dei vigili del fuoco è composto oggi da 27 sommozzatori, 11 sono sommozzatori speleo mentre 8 sono quelli abilitati Dno (decompressione in nitrox) che utilizzano miscele in fase di decompressione che consentono una permanenza maggiore in immersione alla profondità di 50 metri. Dopo il recupero del quarto corpo, l'operazione sta proseguendo per la ricerca e il recupero degli ultimi due dispersi.

Recuperati i corpi di Bloomer, Morvillo e delle mogli

I quattro corpi recuperati oggi dai sommozzatori nel relitto della Bayesian sono quelli di Jonathan Bloomer, il presidente della Morgan Stanley International, della moglie Anne Elizabeth, del legale Chris Morvillo e della moglie Nada. All'appello mancherebbero dunque l'imprenditore britannico e proprietario dello yacht Mike Lynch e la figlia 18enne Hanna.

Recuperati quattro corpi, il quinto individuato

Sono quattro i corpi senza vita recuperati dai sommozzatori dei vigili del fuoco nel pomeriggio di oggi all'interno del Bayesian, adagiato a circa 50 metri sui fondali davanti a Porticello, nel palermitano. Un quinto cadavere è già stato individuato all'interno del relitto e dovrebbe essere ripescato domani. Un'operazione condotta dai sommozzatori del Corpo nazionale, con il coordinamento della Guardia Costiera. Il dispositivo di soccorso dei vigili del fuoco è stato composto oggi da 27 sommozzatori, 11 sono sommozzatori speleo mentre 8 sono quelli abilitati DNO (decompressione in nitrox) che utilizzano miscele in fase di decompressione che consentono una permanenza maggiore in immersione alla profondità di 50 metri. 

I corpi identificati

Recuperati quattro corpi dai sommozzatori dal relitto dello yacht Bayesian, affondato al largo di Porticello, in Sicilia, e un altro sarebbe stato individuato ma ancora non recuperato. Sono quelli di Mike Lynch e della figlia Hanna, Jonathan Bloomer, presidente di Morgan Stanley, Chris Morvillo, avvocato di Clifford Chance e parte del team legale che rappresenta Lynch, sono stati identificati. Il bilancio delle vittime sale dunque a cinque, dopo il ritrovamento, lunedi, del primo uomo deceduto, il cuoco dello yacht, Recaldo Thomas. Le operazioni di ricerca proseguono per recuperare il corpo individuato e cercare l'ultimo disperso dello yacht, che ora giace sul fianco destro a 50 metri di profondita. Ma l'operazione e «lunga e complicata», spiegano i vigili del fuoco. Questa mattina, con mare calmo, i sommozzatori hanno raggiunto la zona di ricerca con piccoli gommoni, alternandosi in squadre di due persone. Poche ore prima che il tornado si abbattesse all'alba di lunedi, i festeggiamenti erano in pieno svolgimento sul 'Bayesian', yacht da 56 metri battente bandiera britannica con 12 passeggeri e 10 membri dell'equipaggio a bordo. Mike Lynch, un ricco uomo d'affari soprannominato il 'Bill Gates britannico', stava festeggiando con amici, soci e avvocati dopo la sua assoluzione a giugno in un processo per frode negli Stati Uniti che avrebbe potuto costargli molti anni di carcere. La nave e affondata in pochi minuti travolto dalla tromba d'aria e 15 persone, sei dei quali passeggeri, tra cui una madre e sua figlia di un anno, sono state tratte in salvo, mentre il cuoco dell'equipaggio e stato trovato morto. «La parola che la madre e tutti i feriti continuavano a ripetere era 'buio', il buio che hanno vissuto durante il naufragio», ha raccontato alla BBC Fabio Genco, responsabile del servizio di emergenza di Palermo che ha prestato i primi soccorsi ai sopravvissuti. «Hanno parlato di cinque minuti, forse da tre a cinque, tra il momento in cui la barca e stata sollevata dalle onde e quello in cui e affondata. Ci sono state scene davvero apocalittiche in cui tutti cercavano e speravano di trovare» i dispersi, ha aggiunto. Le sei persone disperse mercoledi mattina erano Mike Lynch e sua figlia Hannah, Jonathan Bloomer, presidente di Morgan Stanley International, una filiale della banca statunitense, e dell'assicuratore Hiscox, insieme a sua moglie, e Chris Morvillo, un avvocato che ha difeso Mike Lynch nel suo processo negli Stati Uniti, insieme a sua moglie. Le prime testimonianze avevano indicato che l'albero di 75 metri si era spezzato, ma le informazioni disponibili oggi sembrano indicare il contrario. La velocita con cui lo yacht e affondato e il fatto che le altre barche intorno non siano state colpite, sollevano dubbi, in particolare sul fatto che la chiglia zavorrata, che funge da contrappeso all'imponente albero, fosse abbassata o alzata al momento della tempesta. 

Folla di curiosi al molo per seguire recupero corpi

Una folla di curiosi, tra cui anche numerosi bambini portati dai genitori, si è assiepata da alcune ore sul molo di Porticello per seguire da vicino il ritrovamento dei corpi dei dispersi del naufragio del veliero britannico Bayesian. Con il cellulare in mano, c'è chi fa la diretta su Tik Tok o su Facebook per immortalare i movimenti delle motovedette dei Vigili del fuoco e della Guardia costiera che fanno su e giù dal punto del naufragio del lussuoso yacht affondato nella notte tra domenica e lunedì a poche decine di metri dalla terraferma. E' un via vai continuo dal molo. C'è chi arriva con il bambino nel passeggino, o c'è chi porta i figli in braccio. Ma tutti vogliono un posto in 'prima fila' per seguire da vicino il ritrovamento dei cadaveri. Nello stesso posto ci sono anche le decine di giornalisti arrivati da tutto il mondo per seguire questa vicenda.

Individuato dai sommozzatori anche un quinto corpo

Il corpo di un'altra vittima del naufragio della Bayesian, il quinto, sarebbe stato individuato dai sommozzatori dei vigili del fuoco. All'appello mancherebbe dunque un solo disperso. Tre cadaveri sono già stati trasferiti in banchina e caricati sulle ambulanze. Si attende ora il completamento delle operazioni di recupero e l'arrivo delle altre salme.

Due dei corpi sono di Mike Lynch e la figlia

I due corpi recuperati dal relitto dello yacht Bayesian affondato sono stati confermati come quelli di Mike Lynch e di sua figlia Hannah. Il direttore generale della Protezione civile siciliana, Salvo Cocina, ha dichiarato al The Telegraph che altri due corpi sono stati ritrovati e vengono ora recuperati dai sommozzatori. Cocina ha aggiunto: «A nome mio e dei miei colleghi, desidero esprimere le piu sentite condoglianze alle famiglie delle vittime in questo difficile momento»

Recuperati altri due corpi

Gli speleo sommozzatori dei vigili del fuoco avrebbero individuato i corpi di altre due vittime del naufragio della Bayesian, dopo quelli già recuperati di due uomini e trasferiti in banchina. Anche in questo caso i corpi si trovano all'interno dell'imbarcazione e le operazioni si presentano particolarmente difficoltose.

I due corpi ritrovati sarebbero quello di Mark Lynch e della figlia Hannah

Il secondo corpo ritrovato nello scafo del veliero britannico è di una donna. Indossa un reggiseno e uno slip di colore nero. L’altro ad avere ritrovato e’ di un uomo molto corpulento. Secondo indiscrezioni si trarrebbe di Mark Lynch e della figlia Hannah. Ma al momento non ci sono conferme.

Portato al molo anche il secondo corpo

E’ stato portato al molo, a bordo di una motovedetta della capitaneria di porto, anche il secondo corpo ritrovato dai sub nello scafo del veliero affondato a Porticello (Palermo). Non si conoscono al momento le loro identità. L’unica certezza è che uno dei due è un uomo “di grossa stazza”, come dice chi lo ha visto. Le ricerche proseguono all’interno dello scafo.

Suppellettili e dei mobili galleggianti ostacolano il recupero

E’ stato portato a riva a bordo di una motovedetta dei vigili del fuoco il primo dei due corpi ritrovato a bordo del veliero Bayesian a 50 metri di profondità. Sono due i corpi ritrovati al momento nello scafo, ma non è semplice riuscire a raggiungere i cadaveri a causa delle suppellettili e dei mobili galleggianti all’interno dello scafo.

Secondo le prime informazioni si tratterebbe dei corpi di due uomini, che sono stati estratti dallo scafo dopo essere stati individuati in una cabina all'interno dell'imbarcazione. I cadaveri non sono ancora stati portati sul gommone dei vigili del fuoco perchè l'operazione sta procedendo per gradi a causa della complessità delle manovra e dei tempi di decompressione dei sub. Dopo una prima sosta a venti metri di profondità i sommozzatori stanno per portarli in superficie.

Recuperati corpi di due dispersi della Bayesian

Sono stati recuperati dai sommozzatori dei vigili del fuoco i corpi di due dei sei dispersi del naufragio della Bayesian.

Dopo avere sentito il comandante della Bayesian, James Cutfield, in queste ore i pm di Termini Imerese e i militari della Capitaneria di Porto stanno sentendo gli altri membri dell'equipaggio e i passeggeri sopravvissuti. Le loro testimonianze per cercare di ricostruire quanto successo nel corso del naufragio della barca a vela nel mare di Porticello. Da chiarire cosa sia successo che abbiamo provocato l'inabissamento della nave in pochissimi minuti. Intanto per le ricerche sono arrivati altri sub compresi i sommozzatori che hanno preso parte alla ricerche della strage della Concordia, la nave da crociera avvenuto la notte tra il 13 e il 14 gennaio del 2012. In questo modo potranno essere intensificate le immersioni per cercare di raggiungere le cabine che si trovano nella parte bassa dello scafo.

I vertici di Morgan Stanley in hotel con superstiti

 Ci sono anche i massimi vertici della Morgan Stanley International nell'hotel Domina -Zagarella, a Santa Flavia (Palermo) dove sono ospitati i superstiti del naufragio del Bayesien, lo yacht affondato poco prima dell'alba di lunedì scorso, a mezzo miglio da Porticello (Palermo), mentre nella zona imperversava una violenta tromba d'aria. I manager sono arrivati nella struttura non appena la banca d'affari ha appreso che il presidente Jonathan Bloomer e sua moglie Anne Elizabeth Judith sono tra i sei dispersi del naufragio. Nella struttura sono arrivati anche alcuni avvocati che stanno seguendo la vicenda per conto di alcuni dei superstiti.

Il caso dei portelli aperti malgrado l'allerta meteo

Si rincorrono le ipotesi e le ricostruzione sull'affondamento del Bayesian, il veliero da 30 milioni di sterline che lunedì mattina si è inabissato nel giro di pochi minuti dopo essere stato colpito da una tromba d'aria marina mentre era ancorato al largo della costa di Porticello, in Sicilia. La tromba d'aria marina è arrivata all'improvviso cogliendo di sorpresa il comandante della barca a vela, come da lui stesso raccontato. Le previsioni meteo indicavano possibili venti forti ma non era prevista alcuna burrasca, che è ciò che obbliga i responsabili a bordo ad alzare l'allerta e a chiudere tutto. Per questo motivo, probabilmente, i portelli di ingresso alla cabina e gli oblò erano aperti, come avviene spesso quando si resta ancorati in rada per la notte. E proprio l'apertura dei portelli potrebbe aver salvato i quindici superstiti ma, allo stesso modo, accelerato l'inabbissamento del Bayesian. Resta il mistero di come una barca di quelle dimensioni, oltre 56 metri, possa essersi ribaltata e in così poco tempo abbia imbarcato tanta acqua da sparire così rapidamente.

Capitano Sir Robert: superstiti già su loro scialuppa al mio arrivo

«Quando siamo intervenuti noi i 15 superstiti erano già sulla scialuppa di salvataggio del veliero che stava affondando. Il loro gommone poteva, però, contenere 12 persone ma loro erano in 15 e rischiava di andare giù da un momento all'altro. Così li abbiamo raggiunti con il nostro tender e li abbiamo portati sul Sir Robert. Sono stati momenti molto concitati, con una tempesta in corso». A parlare è Karsten Borner, il comandante della barca a vela olandese Sir Roberto Baden Powell, che con queste dichiarazioni aggiunge un tassello importante all'inchiesta aperta sul naufragio del veliero Bayesian. Ieri Borner, tedesco, è stato sentito dai pm della procura di Termini Imerese che indaga per naufragio, disastro, lesioni e omicidio colposo. E oggi ha lasciato il porto di Porticello, dove all'alba di lunedì è avvenuta la tragedia. «Sto andando in Sardegna», spiega ancora Borner. Poi, ci tiene a sottolineare di «non avere mai detto che l'albero maestro del veliero si è spezzato prima di andare giù". «Forse sono state capito male - ha detto - l'albero era integro quando la barca è affondata. Non so se poi si è rotto durante l'affondamento, ma mentre andava giù era perfettamente integro. E' successo tutto in pochissimi minuti». Ricordando ancora i momenti tragici di quella notte di tempesta, Borner ha detto che «anche i miei ospiti hanno aiutato e accudito i superstiti che erano visibilmente sotto choc - racconta - gli abbiamo dato dei vestiti asciutti, perché tremavano dal freddo». Dopo poco è arrivata la Guardia costiera che ha portato via i sopravvissuti, tra cui la piccola Sophie, una bambina di un anno compiuto pochi giorni prima a bordo, con i suoi genitori, James e Charlotte. Alla domanda su come mai sulla scialuppa ci fosse tutto l'equipaggio, fatta eccezione per il cuoco che poi è stato trovato morto poche ore dopo, quando di solito l'equipaggio aiuta i passeggeri in difficoltà, Borner replica: «Non voglio difendere l'equipaggio ma in quei momenti era davvero complicato scendere giù per portare su altri passeggeri. La barca stava affondando, in pochi minuti non c'era più».

Interrogato per oltre due ore il comandante del Bayesian

Secondo quanto apprende l'ANSA è durato oltre due ore l'interrogatorio di James Catfield, 51 anni, il comandante del Bayesien, il veliero affondato a mezzo miglio da Porticello (Palermo) poco prima dell'alba di lunedì scorso mentre imperversava una violenta tromba d'aria. I pm della Procura di Termini Imerese, che ha aperto una inchiesta sul naufragio, lo hanno ascoltato ieri fino a tarda sera per ricostruire le fasi drammatiche dell'inabissamento e per acquisire dettagli tecnici utili alle indagini. Gli interrogatori proseguono anche oggi, i magistrati stanno sentendo tutti i sopravvissuti all'interno del resort Domina-Zagarella 

Le ricerche dei dispersi

Sono riprese alle 6.30 le ricerche dei sommozzatori dei Vigili del fuoco sul luogo del naufragio del veliero britannico Bayesian a Porticello (Palermo) per trovare i sei dispersi. Ieri sera gli speleosub, arrivati dalla Sardegna e dal Lazio, sono entrati nello scafo del Bayesian da una vetrata raggiungendo, «passo dopo passo», gli spazi comuni della barca incontrando decine di oggetti galleggianti ma non hanno raggiunto le cabine. Quello che si sono trovati davanti i sommozzatori sembra «uno scenario da Costa Concordia ma in piccolo» dove è complicato «avanzare a causa di ostacoli e spazi molto ridotti», come ha detto l'ispettore Marco Tilotta dei sommozzatori. I sub scendono due per volta e possono restare in profondità, a 50 metri circa, dove si trova lo scafo, per non più di 12 minuti. Poi devono risalire. Sono sei le persone disperse nel naufragio: il presidente della Morgan Stanley International Jonathan Bloomer, la moglie; l'imprenditore britannico del settore Tlc Mike Lynch, fondatore della Autonomy, la figlia diciottenne Hannah, il legale di Linch, l'avvocato Chris Morvillo e Nada Morvillo. Il veliero, lungo 56 metri con un albero maestro di 75 e battente bandiera inglese, trasportava 22 persone, 10 membri dell'equipaggio e 12 ospiti. Poco prima delle 5 di mattina di lunedì è stato travolto da una forte tromba d'aria quando si trovava a mezzo miglio dalla costa di Porticello. I primi naufraghi sono stati soccorsi da una imbarcazione olandese, Sir Robert Baden Powell, nelle immediate vicinanze per poi essere portati a terra dalla guardia costiera.

Omsk , officially the Siberian Black League , is a warlord state in Western Siberia. Occupying the territory of the former Omsk Oblast, it borders Tomsk to the north, the Kazakh SSR to the south, Tyumen to the east, and Novosibirsk to the west.

Following the dissolution of the Soviet Union , the city of Omsk, initially held by the West Siberian People's Republic , was seized by a league of ultranationalists sharing views of anti-German sentiment and revanchism. Led by Dmitry Karbyshev 's All-Russian Black League, upon the seizing of Omsk, the ultranationalist regime had to industrialize and fortify it. In a way, some could say it's nothing but a fortified city in which the Black League militarizes and prepares for its future conflicts.

The political system of Omsk is governed as a militarist one-party state since its founding, ruled by Karbyshev and his like-minded comrades of the All-Russian Black League, an organization fanatically devoted to revanchism against the Greater Germanic Reich . However, at heart, Karbyshev is a Russian and while he sought to create an ultranationalist military state to take revenge against Germany, he did not account for the despots that wished to claim as much power as possible from him. Karbyshev is represented in-game as a dying man soon to fall, due to him leading a brutal military dictatorship, while being opposed to the radical rhetoric of his officer clique. The Black League has since become an ultranationalist state, even more radical in their hatred of Germany. Due to Karbyshev's declining health, many of the other officers have gained massive influence in the leadership of Omsk. The reality is that Karbyshev started a movement that assumed it was able to change the hearts of the despots with nationalism rather than terror; but it has since been corrupted beyond his visions, and there is little he can do to stop the train of degeneracy. Indeed, once Karbyshev dies and Omsk is still around, actual ultranationalist and General Dmitry Yazov will assume leadership of the Black League and prevent the despotic cliques from growing.

Under the sheer doctrine of anti-German sentiment, the theory of the “Great Trial” in Omsk comes in. This is where the warlord state will prepare for its final assault on the Reich, as revenge for the “First Trial” which brought the dissolution of the Soviet Union and the “Second Trial” being the West Russian War . Their hatred doesn't stop with just Germany, but it includes many who collaborated with them. Some officers of the Black League even go as far as to want to destroy the United States for not helping enough during the Great Patriotic War. In preparation for their war with Germany, they are expectant of nuclear strikes and so have started to construct massive metro tunnels to double as shelter from the warheads and radioactive fallout. The resolve of the Black League cannot be stopped, even with the threat of nuclear war.

Omsk is one of the hardest paths in TNO, due to it being weaker than a lot of the surrounding warlords and being unable to conduct diplomacy at all. To reunite Russia, Omsk will have to fight every single state in its way. Their end goal is the complete extermination of the Reich and the German people, and they will stop at nothing to reach this. They are hard-coded for hostility and are always at war with someone, but an AI Omsk will almost always never be successful. Despite being founded on nothing but hatred, when they unify Western Siberia and start to emerge on the international stage, they actually try to conceal their ideology and ambitions from foreign influences. They stick with a nondescript name of the “West Siberian Provisional Authority” under the guise of a protective military authority and switch their ideology to “Despotism”.

After Dmitry Yazov comes to power and purges the Black League's old guard, the cabinet changes to:

Omsk has at least eleven generals.

• Ironically, according to a former developer of West Siberia, Omsk at one point had a National Socialist path as a "sane" option, due to now-former head developer Pink Panzer wanting every region in Western Siberia to have multiple paths. This was changed after the other developers convinced him to have Omsk only have one path.
• Omsk was partially inspired by the Armenian Secret Army for the Liberation of Armenia , a militant group that aspired to carve out an ethnic Armenian homeland in eastern Turkey.
