March continues the trend of pleasant weather, with temperatures ranging from 73°F to 83°F (23°C to 28°C). The dry season persists, offering ideal conditions for outdoor activities.

In April, the climate starts warming up, with temperatures between 75°F and 85°F (24°C to 29°C). There's a slight increase in humidity and occasional rain showers.

May marks the beginning of the warmer season, with temperatures from 77°F to 87°F (25°C to 31°C). Rainfall increases slightly, but there are still plenty of sunny days.

June is warmer, with temperatures ranging from 79°F to 89°F (26°C to 32°C). It's the start of the wetter season, so expect more frequent rain showers.

July is one of the hottest months, with temperatures between 80°F and 90°F (27°C to 32°C). It's also part of the hurricane season, so there's an increased chance of tropical storms.

September continues to be hot and humid, with temperatures from 80°F to 90°F (27°C to 32°C). This month often experiences the peak of the hurricane season.

In October, temperatures start to cool slightly, ranging from 78°F to 88°F (26°C to 31°C). The rainy season continues, and there's still a risk of hurricanes.

November sees a notable decrease in humidity and rainfall, with temperatures between 76°F and 86°F (24°C to 30°C). It's the transition back to the drier, cooler season.

December is characterized by cooler, drier weather, with average temperatures from 74°F to 84°F (23°C to 29°C). It's a great month for visitors seeking comfortable weather conditions.

This is a sample itinerary that might be altered by the captain depending on weather factors or guests’ requests.

Arrival Day

When you arrive at Nanny Cay Marina, check-in will be your first step. Upon boarding your yacht, your crew will greet you and offer a refreshing welcome cocktail. You will then be shown to your cabin and assisted in getting comfortable. Once all guests have arrived, we will set sail across the Francis Drake Chanel, with the beautiful sun setting over the Virgin Island. A professional and delectable three course dinner will be served on-board, after which we will retire for the night.

After indulging in a delightful breakfast, you can experience an unforgettable snorkelling or scuba diving adventure. Our journey then proceeds towards Cooper Island later in the morning. You are welcome to participate in sailing the yacht and assisting with the sails. However, if that does not suit your preference, you can relax and enjoy the sail. After a satisfying lunch, we explore Manchioneel Bay, where you can choose to snorkel, kayak, or spend some time on the shore at the distinguished Cooper Island Beach Club. This beach is one of the most beautiful in BVIs and features one of the Caribbean's most upmarket rum bars, boasting an inventory of over 100 different rums. Later in the day, we set sail once more and head towards the serene island of Virgin Gorda via the Sir Francis Drake Channel. We drop anchor in Trunk Bay and relish Captain's Cocktails while the sun sets over the islands, followed by dinner under the stars.

Following breakfast, we will embark on a brief dinghy ride to The Baths, which is a well-known natural attraction in the BVI. It features a group of immense boulders that create stunning pools and grottos. These large rocks form a labyrinth that ultimately leads to Devil's Bay Beach, where you can savor an ice-cold drink of your choosing. This is genuinely one of the world's most breathtaking natural wonders, and your crew will transport your drinks to the shore in a flowing cooler. Afterward, we will sail to North Sound, which is a favored playground for the super-rich in the BVIs. It is also home to Richard Branson's private islands, such as Necker and Moskito Islands (named after the local tribe, not the insect), as well as Larry Page's Eustatia Island. The calm waters in this region make it ideal for a variety of water sports, including tubing, paddleboarding, and kayaking. Perhaps some of the sailors among us might want to play volleyball on the beach? After all of this activity, your captain will prepare well-deserved sundowners, followed by another delectable dinner.

Once we finish our morning meal, we embark on a relaxed sailing journey towards Marina Cay, which is considered one of the most stunning cays in the area. If the weather permits, we can take a dip and snorkel on Diamond Reef, which is known for its abundant schools of small fish and the vivid hues of the soft coral surrounding it. We will then continue our voyage, setting sail towards the picturesque White Bay located on privately-owned Guana Island. Guests will have ample time to explore the pristine white beaches or indulge in some snorkeling at Monkey Point before being treated to a delectable tropical spread for lunch. After lunch, we will make our way towards Cane Garden Bay, where we can enjoy some refreshing cocktails. For dinner, guests have the option of dining onboard or heading to one of the various beachfront restaurants.

To start the day, we depart for Jost Van Dyke before breakfast and drop anchor at one of the most stunning bays in the Caribbean. Our objective is to secure the best anchorage spot in front of the renowned Soggy Dollar Bar, which serves the famous cocktail, Painkiller. After a delectable breakfast on the boat, you can swim to shore and use your wet money, or "soggy dollars," to order a Painkiller from the bar. As the day progresses, the bay becomes more crowded with charter boats, prompting us to move on to Little Jost Van Dyke and the charming Diamond Cay. Here, you can visit the boutique at "Foxy's Taboo" before experiencing the natural wonder called the "Bubbly Pool," which resembles a natural jacuzzi and can be quite refreshing during high tide. Enjoy a delicious dinner on board while taking in the minimal light pollution from the surrounding islands at this anchorage.

Before you wake up in your cabin, the Captain will set sail towards Sandy Spit or Sandy Cay so that you can take your first steps on the sand. After breakfast, you can enjoy swimming, snorkeling, or kayaking to explore more. We will then sail through Thatch Island Cut to reach the original Dutch settlement of Soper's Hole, where you can visit some of the best shops and boutiques on the island and buy the famous Pusser's Rum. After lunch on-board, we will head towards Privateer Bay on Norman Island, where you can snorkel in three water-level caves at the base of the cliffs. These caves are dark, which makes the experience like a night snorkel, and it is said that pirates may have hidden their treasure in these caves. Privateer Bay is a safe anchorage that provides a perfect spot for an overnight stay.

Moving to the west side of Norman Island, near Pelican Island, lies a beautiful location called "The Indians" - named after the four tall rock formations that resemble an Indian headdress. This spot is a popular snorkeling and scuba diving location in the BVIs. Sailing up the Sir Francis Drake Channel, we arrive at Little Harbour on Peter Island, also known as "unemployment bay" due to the privately owned yacht-crews that anchor here. Here, we can enjoy peaceful snorkeling with turtles while anchored "stern to" the rock formations and land. After lunch, we head back to our base in Tortola, where we can enjoy a powerful sundowner. Guests can then choose to dine onboard or at a nearby restaurant for our last dinner on the trip.

Departure Day

Once you have enjoyed your final delicious breakfast on the yacht, it will be time to pack up your belongings and reflect on the amazing memories you have made during your week in this breathtaking location. Before bidding farewell to the crew, they will assist you in arranging transportation to the airport. Rendezvous diving

If your crewed charter yacht does not offer onboard diving then fear not, rendezvous diving can be arranged.

So what is Rendezvous diving?

A local dive company will pick you up direct from your charter yacht at a pre-determined location and take you for a one- or two-tank dive to experience the BVI below the water. This is an excellent option if only a couple of guests wish to dive or can work equally as well if all your group are interested. If your charter yacht offers minimal onboard diving, then rendezvous diving can also work if you wanted to add a few more dives during your charter.

Rendezvous diving is at additional cost, payable locally. The dive company provides all gear.

The most convenient international airport to Scrub Island is in San Juan, Puerto Rico (airport code SJU).

From San Juan, catch a short connecting flight with scheduled service via Seaborne Airlines, Cape Air or interCaribbean Airways to the British Virgin Islands at Terrance B. Lettsome Airport (airport code EIS).

• Seaborne Airlines has 32-seat, air-conditioned planes and code share with Delta Airlines, American Airlines, and US Airways.
• Cape Air has small 9-seat aircraft and code share with Jet Blue Airways.
• interCaribbean Airways has a 30-seat aircraft and code share with British Airways, out of Antigua.

FLIGHTS FROM EUROPE

The easiest way to reach the British Virgin Islands from Europe is via Paris. Air France flies daily from Paris (CDG) to Sint Martin (SXM). Then you fly with Winair or Liat in about 40 minutes to Tortola (EIS).

Alternatively, Air Caraibes and Corsair also offer flights from Paris to St. Martin.

Or you can reach Tortola BVI via Miami and Puerto Rico.

Luxury Yacht Charters: Inclusive Options Await

Here’s something you don’t see on the charter market all too often: larger motoryachts offering all-inclusive rates in the British Virgin Islands and Bahamas.

Typically, larger motoryachts are listed for charter with weekly base rates. Those base rates cover the boat and crew, but not expenses such as fuel, food, drinks and gratuity. The idea is that different clients want to do different things on charter, so the variable costs are adjustable.

By contrast, smaller crewed boats that stick to generally fixed itineraries and can better predict the associated costs—in particular, catamarans in the Virgin Islands—are offered with inclusive rates.

That’s what makes the news so interesting about the 135-foot Horizon Stay Salty and the 120-foot Sovereign Real Summertime. Denison Yachting says these larger yachts are now offering all-inclusive charter packages in the British Virgin Islands and Bahamas.

“This is an exciting initiative to simplify and encourage new charter clients to try one of the most epic travel experiences imaginable,” Ben Farnborough, Denison’s chief operating officer, stated in a press release. “Often we’re made aware that there’s a perception outside of the yachting industry that chartering a yacht is inherently complex. Our goal here is to change that. These all-inclusive Denison charter options are straightforward and seamless.”

The two yachts are being offered with inclusive rates based on fixed itineraries and menus, without the standard preference sheets that charter clients typically fill out so the crew can provision whatever guests request to have on board. Denison’s team instead worked with the yacht owners and crew to determine defined dates, docking prices, fuel costs, cocktail lists and menus.

The idea is similar to the way that Denison worked with Magellan Jets to offer a coordinated package for jet travel from Teterboro, New Jersey, to Nassau, Bahamas, at a fee of $48,000 for 12 passengers.

Stay Salty is a 2010 build that most recently was refitted this year. The yacht accommodates 12 guests in six staterooms, including an upper-deck master. Tenders for watersports fun include a 34-foot Jupiter.

Real Summertime is a 2000 build that most recently was refitted in 2022. Accommodations on this yacht are for as many as 12 guests in five staterooms, including a main-deck master. Onboard amenities include an outdoor cinema, and tenders include a 37-foot Boston Whaler Outrage.

Is there any wiggle room in the all-inclusive plans? Yes, for an extra fee. Denison Yachting says the inclusive rate is intended to appeal to people who want to avoid the planning process, but that guests who want bespoke elements in their all-inclusive charter can work with Denison’s team to accommodate those requests at an additional cost.
