Powerful and extravagant, Broward has been building boat for years that glorify contemporary style and luxury details. Established in 1948 by Frank Denison, Broward made its first appearance on the site of the former Dooley’s Basin & Dry Dock Company, which was organized initially for war efforts back in the day.  Soon the shipyard was renamed Broward Marine and began to start a service and repair business, which led to their first launch of a custom motor yacht, Stormy III – designed by an architect named John Wells. Since the 50s, Denison really took initiative in building boats over 140-170 feet for the Dutch and US Navies, but soon switched back to creating more leisure yachts built with aluminum. Denison’s sons came onboard to help successfully deliver all their yachts in the 80s – including flybridge, pilothouse and tri-deck models. As years went on, Broward was able to produce some of the most elite custom luxury yachts, launching more than 300 Broward yachts. In 2009, duo Bruce and Chris Moore took ownership of the company and soon incorporated the shipyard into Broward Shipyard, Inc offering custom yachts from 18 to 50 meters. Now with an impressive establishment in South Florida, Broward Yachts continues to fulfill those who love power and luxury within their yachts.

PORTICELLO – Italian rescuers on Friday brought ashore the last of seven bodies from a superyacht that sunk off the coast of Sicily, the Coast Guard said. It is believed to be that of the daughter of British tech magnate Mike Lynch , who also perished when the boat sank earlier this week.

Hannah Lynch, 18, was the last person unaccounted for aboard The Bayesian, a 56-meter (184-foot) British-flagged yacht that went down in a storm early Monday.

Mike Lynch’s body was recovered Thursday. He had been celebrating his recent acquittal on fraud charges with his family and the people who had defended him at trial in the United States. His wife, Angela Bacares, was among the 15 survivors.

"The Lynch family is devastated, in shock and is being comforted and supported by family and friends. Their thoughts are with everyone affected by the tragedy,” a spokesperson for the family said in a statement issued Friday.

Rescuers struggled for four days to find all the missing bodies, making only slow headway through the interior of the wreck lying on the seabed 50 meters (164 feet) below the surface.

Civil protection officials said they believe the ship was struck by a tornado over the water, known as a waterspout, and sank quickly.

The other five victims are Christopher Morvillo, one of Lynch’s U.S. lawyers, and his wife, Neda; Jonathan Bloomer, chairman of Morgan Stanley’s London-based investment banking subsidiary, and his wife, Judy; and Recaldo Thomas, the yacht’s chef.

Termini Imerese Public Prosecutor’s Office investigators said it will hold a news conference on Saturday to unveil the first findings of its criminal investigation, which was opened immediately after the tragedy despite no formal suspects having been publicly identified.

The main question investigators are focusing on is how a sailing vessel deemed “unsinkable” by its manufacturer, Italian shipyard Perini Navi, sank while a nearby sailboat remained largely unscathed .

Below deck, midship is the full beam master stateroom with his and her heads. The heads are seperated by a Jaccuzzi tub and shower.

There are 2 guest staterooms aft of the master stateroom. The port side stateroom has a queen bed with a full head and shower. The starboard stateroom has 2 double beds with a full head and shower.

Forward and below deck the forward stateroom has vee berths and can be used for guests or Captains quarters. Aft of the forward stateroom is a second stateroom that has been converted to the owners office. The double bed is located to port, the office was installed to starboard. There is a full head with shower in this area. Aft of the office is the engine room.

On the main deck forward is the very spacious country kitchen style galley. Aft of the country kitchen is the spacious full width salon. There is a beautifully decorated day head.

The raised pilothouse is midship and can be accessed from port or stbd. The stairway to the flybridge area is in the pilothouse.

The flybridge on this yacht is very spacious. There is a fully equipped flybridge helm as well as bench seating for large groups. Storage for all the water toys and the hard bottom inflatable are aft on the top deck.

The Galley in this yacht is large enough to have it's own dining area. The Galley and the dining area compliment each other and together make a spacious country kitchen. The casual dining area opens forward from the galley and comfortably seats eight people. There is a built in settee as well as chair seating. The Fore Deck area has padded seating and sunning areas. The ships Bell is mounted here on a custom bracket. The Windlass and Windlass Controls are mounted here. Teak Railings. There is alot of storage under the bench seating on the fore deck.

The Aft Deck is a comfortable place to relax. It is shaded by the top deck overhang. There is a stair well from the aft deck that leads down to the swim platform. The swim platform area is spacious enough for docking water craft and having ample room to load and unload. There is storage in both sides of the transom and a custom boarding swim ladder. She is outfitted with an aft deck spot light as well as a rear view monitoring camera.

The full beam master stateroom has a king bed with ample room to walk around. There are his and her heads seperated by a Jaccuzzi tub and shower. There are 2 cedar lined closets. There is an additional water heater in this area. There is audio and video equipment in the master stateroom.

The Port Guest Stateroom has a queen bed, with a private full head and shower.

The Stbd Guest Stateroom has twin beds with a private full head and shower.

Both Guest staterooms have ample closet storage space, color cvs and audio systems.

Located forward of and down from the galley, the crew's quarters area consists of two cabins that share a common head with stall shower.  The forward most cabin features two single see berths and has a Sony color TB. The head follows aft on the port side with the Washer/Dryer across to port from the "office" which is on the starboard side. The office built into this area features a large desk and executive chair and Sony color TV. Access to the engine room is just aft through a watertight door.

The full beam salon has as full size dining table forward. There is a custom wet bar. Aft in the salon is a full set of living room furniture making a very nice seating and entertaining area. The stairway to the stateroom foyer is located to stbd forward in the salon. A full compliment of audio and video equipment is provided in the salon.

Luxury Yacht Bayesian Sinking In Sicily, Caused By ‘Long Sum Of Errors’

The passengers on board the luxury yacht that sank in Sicily had many errors that could have prevented the tragedy.

Sicily witnessed a tragedy on Monday, August 19, when the luxury yacht Bayesian sank due to a waterspout, resulting in what has been described as “an unbelievable story.” The yacht, carrying 22 passengers, saw most rescued, but six were confirmed dead, including British technology entrepreneur Mike Lync h. The last person still missing is Lynch’s  18-year-old daughter, Hannah .

This incident raised concerns from Giovanni Costantino, leader of The Italian Sea Group. According to CNN , Costantino questioned how those on board failed to notice the brewing storm and the issues with the supposedly “unsinkable ship.” He stated, “Everything that happened reveals a series of significant errors. The passengers should not have been in the cabins, and the boat should not have been at anchor. Why didn’t the crew know about the incoming disturbance?”

Costantino further noted that weather charts had already signaled the natural disaster, making it hard to understand how the passengers were caught off guard. “The passengers reported that the storm came unexpectedly, but that’s not true. Everything was predictable. I have the weather charts in front of me. Nothing came suddenly,” he said. He also pointed out that the absence of fishermen in the area should have been a clear warning sign.

A fisherman, Pietro Asciutto, who witnessed the sinking, shared his perspective according to the Washington Post  . “I was at home when the tornado hit. I immediately closed all the windows,” he said. He continued, “Then I saw the boat— it had only one mast, and it was very large. I saw it sink suddenly… The boat was still floating, and then, suddenly, it disappeared.”

This tragedy follows the revelation that the late Mike Lynch, who owned Bayesian , had listed the yacht for sale in March for £30 million (approximately $39 million USD), according to the Telegraph . He later reconsidered and removed it from the market to set sail in the summer, with plans to relist it in the fall.

According to PEOPLE , the passengers on board were celebrating Lynch’s recent acquittal in a financial fraud trial in the U.S. An insider shared, “That’s why he took his closest friends and colleagues on the trip.”
