The cost of chartering a yacht in Monaco will start at around $20,000 a week, plus an additional 30% advanced provisioning allowance (APA), 14% VAT, and a discretionary tip. The APA will cover the food, drinks, fuel, and berthing during your travels, and the tip remains at the discretion of the client but is advised anywhere between 10% to 20% of the charter fee to thank the crew for their efforts.

The starting price for a yacht charter in Monaco will be around $20,000 for a week for 8 guests plus expenses. There’s a vast selection of yachts available in the area, with many size categories to choose from: - A 20m sailing yacht will cost around €20,000pw + all - A 25m motor yacht will cost around €25,000pw + all - A 30m yacht will cost around €60,000pw + all - A 40m superyacht will cost around €175,000pw + all - A 50m superyacht will cost around €275,000pw + all

The Mediterranean high season runs for 8 weeks from July to August. However, the area remains busy from the Monaco Grand Prix at the end of May until the Monaco Yacht Show in late September. Therefore, the Mediterranean season can be regarded as being 16 weeks long.

Removal of sunken 38m motor yacht Lovebug begins in Chesapeake Bay

The removal process for the 37.8-metre motor yacht Lovebug officially began yesterday (13 August) with authorities working to refloat the vessel. The yacht took on water and ran aground in a tributary of Chesapeake Bay last month (27 July) and has remained there since. 

According to local reports, she is expected to be removed in the next two days.

A statement released by the US Coast Guard shortly after the incident occurred assured that "there [were] no reports of pollution at this time," with an oil boom deployed around the vessel to mitigate any potential spills. There is yet to be an update on any pollution that has resulted from Lovebug 's remaining submerged.

According to BOATPro , Lovebug is located near the mouth of the West River, roughly a half-mile offshore between Beverly Beach and Curtis Point, Maryland. She was bound for Annapolis – Maryland's capital city.

"The five persons on board were safely recovered by a good Samaritan and a tow boat," continued a statement from the U.S Coast Guard Sector for Maryland. "The vessel is not impeding the navigational channel."

Built in 2010 under the name Anastasia M , Lovebug is designed inside and out by Italian studio Francesco Paszkowski Design . The superyacht has changed hands several times and was most recently sold in 2021 at a last known asking price of $7,995,000. She was also a regular on the yacht charter circuit.

Features of the yacht include a sundeck that comes with a small swimming pool, bar and sunpads. Accommodation is for 11 guests and seven crew.

The cause of the incident is unknown.

“This is one of the most prestigious events in the calendar, and it is only fitting that this would be where we offer sporting enthusiasts an unforgettable experience that brings together the world of motorsport with the luxury of maritime travel,” Pierfrancesco Vago, executive chairman, cruise division of MSC Group, said in a statement.

The 814-foot liner will become an elegant floating Monegasque hotel across race weekend, with 461 generous suites providing F1 fans with sweeping views from private ocean-front terraces. More extravagant penthouses and residences are also available for those who really want to splash out.

Guests can expect top-tier service, too. The 12 indoor and outdoor bars and lounges will pour the finest wines and spirits—you get unlimited premium beverages, naturally—while the six restaurants will serve top-notch fare that ranges from Pan-Asian cuisine to classic steakhouse dishes.

The ship will also host a series of spectacular events and offer “vibrant entertainment” over the weekend, according to the Explora team. Guests can also cool off in one of four pools, chill out in a private cabana, relax in the spa, peruse the high-end boutiques, or even work out in the gym. Then, there’s the GP itself. Explora II will be conveniently situated a stone’s throw from the F1 Paddock, so you will be fully immersed in the thrilling sport from qualifying to the final race.

Explora has created four different Formula 1 itineraries that run between five and 20 nights. Guests can now book via the Explora Journeys website or their preferred travel agent.

Gunboat 57 Vai Vai is not your average charter cat.

One of the many perks of my job as a yachting writer is that I get to sail aboard a wide variety of boats. I especially love ripping off speed runs aboard some the world’s largest (and fastest) offshore race boats . Now, the truth is, the only reason I’m allowed aboard is because I’m just a humble journalist. But the blistering speeds those boats are capable of is addictive.

And as someone who’s been lucky enough to sail more than my fair share of charter catamarans in the Caribbean, Mediterranean, French Polynesia and other bucket list destinations, I can say every charter cat I’ve ever been on has been a fantastic platform for living large in the tropics. They’re not particularly exciting to sail.

I’m also grateful to say that I’ve sailed on a few high-performance sailing catamarans like the Gunboat 57 Vai Vai . After spending a little time with the VaiVai’s owner Jeff Hager earlier this summer, all I can say is Vai Vai ’s speed potential makes it possible to cover way, way more ground than a more conventional charter boat. And since everyone (even the helmsman and sail trimmer can hang out in main bridgedeck area, and the catamaran never heels more than a few degrees) more speed doesn’t mean less comfort.

In fact, the indoor/outdoor living aboard Vai Vai is next level. The wrap-around windows provide protection from the high winds and spray such a fast boat produces. The 360-degree view is amazing while the massive roof provides essential sun protection. And the sheer size of the bridgedeck is soooo much bigger than what you’d find on a 57-foot monohull. And the nice thing about having the galley and living cabins in the hulls is that each cabin is particularly private.

But, let’s fact it. This boat will not appeal to anyone who rates a charter boat based on how over-the-top-“luxurious” the accommodations are. This is a high-performance sailor’s catamaran for people who don’t want to give up the sheer thrill of sailing on a charter.

The boat that will bring oysters and other raw bar staples out to your boat at anchor is one of the ... [+] many reasons to stop in Cuttyhunk on a charter aboard Vai Vai.

And if you’re lucky enough to book a week aboard VaiVai before she heads south in the fall, be sure to stop for oysters on the tiny island of Cuttyhunk. I guarantee you’ll beat every other sailing charter boat in Newport’s fleet.
