The Best Yacht Charters You Can Book Around the World

Whether you’re looking for seven decks of entertainment, a family-friendly trip, or a diving-focused Caribbean voyage, you’ll find it here.

best sailboat charter companies

There are few experiences as luxurious and awe-inspiring as a yacht charter . You can explore the world at your leisure, spend quality time with friends and family in an intimate setting, and the service is second to none. We've rounded up the most exceptional new yacht charters to book around the world. They're sure to inspire your next voyage, whether you want to relax along the Amalfi Coast or explore remote corners of the globe.

In the yachting world, Loon is known for an exceptional array of water toys — perhaps the best in her class. There's a FunAir inflatable slide that goes from the third deck straight into the ocean, an in-water pool, and a luxurious 43-foot Everglades tender. You can hop on paddleboards, sea kayaks, Waverunners, or a Seabob to explore nearby islands and coves.

The adventurous can try kite surfing or Lift e-Foil surfboards, which seems effortless when you watch the crew fly past, but is actually quite challenging. Loon is also a scuba diver's dream. The crew has several master divers and dive instructors who can take you out each morning, and they have all of the equipment you need onboard. They can also certify new divers during the trip.

The 180-foot yacht has a staggering 1,100 gross tons of living space, elegant design, and an amiable and attentive crew. Loon has two master staterooms, including a unique one on the upper deck. It has wraparound windows that offer unparalleled views of the surroundings. There are two salons, including one with recliners and a projector for movie night, plenty of spaces for dining alfresco, and an oversized infinity-edge Jacuzzi with a wet bar nearby. Fancy a workout? Loon has a treadmill, exercise bike, rowing machine, and free weights in the beach club. You'll be hard-pressed to find better workout views than this.

The crew is absolutely lovely and specializes in setting up unique experiences. You might have a pizza night on board, a barbecue on a private beach, or sundowners at the Instagram-famous Loon Bar. The crew will even take you to a picture-perfect sandbar and serve you drinks as you loll in the warm water.

Loon is available for charter from IYC in the Bahamas, Caribbean, and Bermuda during the winter months and in the Mediterranean in the summer months. Rates begin at $325,000 a week plus expenses.

Nansen Explorer

For the ultimate Antarctica adventure, you can't beat a voyage aboard Nansen Explorer . This former research vessel has all of the technical features needed to safely explore one of the world's most remote and dramatic landscapes and, thanks to a retrofit in 2021, an ultra-luxe interior design that wouldn't look out of place in St. Tropez. For exploration, Nansen Explorer has an Ice-1A classed 236-foot hull and an ice-experienced captain and bridge team, which means she can go deeper into the ice than other polar-classed superyachts. There's a heli-deck with onboard fueling capabilities, so you can see the vast landscape from the sky, or even go heli-skiing. There are plenty of toys that allow you to get up close and personal with wildlife and nature, including kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, dive equipment, and Zodiacs.

The interiors are so stylish, modern, and well-appointed that you'll forget you're in the middle of Antarctica rather than at a swanky hotel. The ship originally accommodated 60 passengers, but now it holds just 12 guests in seven cabins, including an owner's suite and a VIP suite. Each cabin has large windows that showcase the stunning vistas outside the ship. The sumptuous Scandanavian-inspired decor features shades of grey and white, which reflect the surrounding environment. There's a cozy lounge with a bar and a fireplace, perfect for warming up after an excursion to see penguins or whales.

Nansen Explorer is available for charter from Plan South America in Antarctica. Rates begin at $340,000 a week and are all-inclusive.

Yachting in French Polynesia is always a blissful experience, but Dardanella takes relaxation to the next level with bespoke, wellness-focused charters planned by onboard wellbeing facilitator Ayumi Gallagher. The wellness experience is all-encompassing, including fresh, detoxifying food, mindfulness workshops, yoga sessions, Pilates, meditation, and massages alongside traditional yacht activities, like diving, surfing, and tender safaris exploring the pristine waters and nature of French Polynesia. The captain is also a qualified marine biologist and ecologist, so he's the perfect person to show you this unique environment. There are two dive instructors, 12 sets of dive gear, a Nitrox dive compressor, and underwater photography equipment, so you can capture the beauty underwater, too. As an expedition yacht, Dardanella is well-suited for exploring remote destinations. The 121-foot yacht was refit in 2018 and has five luxurious cabins.

Dardanella is available for charter from 37south in French Polynesia. Rates begin at $100,000 a week plus expenses.

With seven decks, there's something for everyone aboard Wheels . This massive yet elegant yacht measures 249 feet, weighs almost 2,000 gross tons, and has lots of standout amenities including a spacious cinema for eight guests, a huge aquarium, massage room with a dedicated onboard masseuse, air-conditioned gym, and the main salon converts to a disco complete with lights and a smoke machine for those late-night dance parties. The split-level master suite has panoramic views, a study, and plenty of space, and there are four spacious guest suites on the main deck. Outside, there are plenty of relaxation areas, including sunpads, a hot tub, several dining areas and bars, and an enviable water sports area with two Jet Skis, four wave runners, three seabobs, a luxurious tender, and plenty more toys. The crew is very active and can teach you to wakeboard, kitesurf, sail the new Hobie cat catamaran, or scuba dive. They can also lead yoga and fitness classes.

Wheels is available for charter from Fraser Yachts in the Caribbean. Rates begin at $680,000 a week plus expenses.

Inside the €775,000-a-Week Superyacht That Was the Talk of Monaco Yacht Show

It's not uncommon for yacht charterers to "upgrade" their yachts year after year, chasing newer and bigger boats, which is makes Big Sky 's number of repeat bookings even more impressive. The 157-foot yacht has been a charter favorite since 2010, and she recently underwent a refit leaving her in immaculate condition. Big Sky can accommodate 10 guests in five staterooms, including a full-beam master that spans the width of the yacht, and there's plenty of room onboard to relax, including the main salon with large windows and a state-of-the-art TV system. The sky lounge is perfect for entertaining — it has an onyx bar and sliding windows that make you feel as if you are outside. Of course, if you do want to relax outdoors, there are three teak decks with space for dining and a large sundeck with a Jacuzzi, sun pads, couches, and a bar.

Big Sky is available for charter from Northrop & Johnson in the Bahamas. Rates begin at $180,000 a week plus expenses.

This glamorous new superyacht caused quite a stir when she debuted at the Monaco Yacht Show in September 2021. It's rare for a brand-new superyacht of this size to be available immediately for charter, so book your trip on Tatiana early. This 263-foot yacht can accommodate up to 12 guests, who are guaranteed impeccable service from the 20 crew members. She has a great selection of water accoutrements and a stunning design with a large amount of interior space, including a deck dedicated to the owner's suite. There are also two VIP staterooms, four double cabins, and a twin cabin. While away any rainy days in the movie room or shooting some pool. Tatiana also has a fabulous beach club with a large bathing platform, bar, and outdoor lounge.

Tatiana is available for charter from IYC in the Bahamas, Caribbean, and Bermuda during the winter months and in the Mediterranean in the summer months. Rates begin at €775,000 a week plus expenses.

Nour El Nil Meroe

Step back in time aboard Nour El Nil Meroe , a traditionally inspired Egyptian yacht full of modern amenities and luxurious design. Meroe is available for charter through Black Tomato, a top luxury travel company known for its expertly curated trips with exclusive experiences and a focus on local culture. Meroe is styled like a classic dahabiya boat, with authentic decor featuring whitewashed walls and linens alongside Parisian decor details. The VIP cabins have floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook the Nile — we can't think of a more fabulous way to have breakfast in bed — while the other cabins have large windows. The shaded roof terrace has plenty of spots for lounging and dining alfresco, and there's a cheery indoor salon with red-and-white striped decor and cozy couches. On your charter, you'll slowly sail down the Nile River from Luxor to Aswan. You can charter just the yacht voyage or book the Ultimate Egypt trip , which includes adventures on land as well as the yacht charter (think: private tours of the pyramids, exploring temples, or taking a jeep safari around Siwa).

El Nil and the Ultimate Egypt trip can be booked through Black Tomato . Rates begin at $5,800 a person.

The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection

One of 2022's most anticipated travel launches is the new The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection . While this is technically a small-ship cruise, every element has been designed to make you feel as if you are aboard a superyacht. The fleet will ultimately have three custom-built yachts, each with 149 suites. However, in 2022, the collection will launch with their first luxury vessel: Evrima . The suites all have private terraces, which isn't something you can expect aboard even the largest superyacht. And of course, the amenities are incredible. It has a beautiful spa, stunning marina terrace (set up like a yacht beach club), an infinity-edge pool, a large gym, and plenty of entertainment. The dining options are seemingly endless, including the main restaurant, the Evrima Room, S.E.A., which features a menu by acclaimed chef Sven Elverfeld of Aqua, Talaat Nam, a Southeast Asian spot, and several casual options.

The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection's inaugural voyage is set for May 2022 and pricing is dependent on the itinerary. Learn more about the trips here .

10 Popular Charter Sailboats

  • By Mark Pillsbury
  • Updated: August 26, 2021

Bali Catspace

Monohull or catamaran ? Three cabins or five? Two heads or four? Flybridge or raised helm? Comfort or price? Just as there’s no one perfect charter destination, it’s impossible to say what the best boat is for a sailing vacation. For those who hate making decisions, that’s the bad news. But for those who like options, the good news is you have a lot of choices as you plan how to make your escape.

To get an idea of what constitutes a good charter boat, I reached out to 10 of the largest production boatbuilders and asked which current model is most often sold to charter fleets around the world. Not surprisingly, all but one of those popular charter boats are in the mid-40-foot range, and available with three to four—and in a couple of instances, five or even six—cabins.

Why 40-something feet? Boats in that size range are big enough to accommodate multiple couples or large families but are manageable for an average sailor who may or may not have experienced crew to help with boat handling. Expense is a factor too. The bigger the boat, the more it’s going to cost to rent, but the number of cabins (and ability to split costs among guests) might not increase accordingly. And, bigger boats are more challenging to handle, which means unless you own a 50-something footer, or have chartered a boat previously in that size range, you might face the added expense of having to hire a captain, at the outset of the trip at least.

Franck Bauguil is vice president of yacht ownership and product development for the Moorings and Sunsail. Both brands are owned by Travelopia, which buys essentially all of its catamarans from Robertson & Caine in South Africa. Travelopia is, in turn, R&C’s only customer, so all of the cats it builds are optimized for charter by Bauguil and designers at Simonis Voogd Design (privately owned R&C cats are sold under Travelopia’s Leopard brand).

When it comes to monohulls, though, both the Moorings and Sunsail buy select models from Beneteau and Jeanneau. For bases in the Mediterranean, monohulls tend to dominate the fleets, partly because of sailing preferences and partly because in crowded harbors, there isn’t room to tie big cats stern to at the quay. For those fleets, Bauguil says he prefers boats that have as many cabins as possible because Europeans tend to squeeze as many aboard as possible to reduce costs. That means four cabins and two heads are ideal in the mid-40-foot range.

Across the Caribbean , where North American customers tend to flock, he leans toward a mix of boats, including layouts with three cabins and two heads. Americans, he says, are more concerned about comfort and amenities.

Sailing conditions also factor in. At bases where the trade winds tend to blow harder and passages between islands are longer and more exposed, such as in St. Lucia and the Windward Islands, larger monohulls (and cats) dominate.

Other charter companies have more-diverse fleets. The Catamaran Company, for instance, offers a number of different brands of cats at its base in Tortola, in the British Virgin Islands. Owner Hugh Murray says different customers come looking for boats with a variety of features. One of his workhorses is the Lagoon 450. Customers like the flybridge for entertaining and relaxing, and with four guest cabins, plus two more bunks in the forepeaks, the 450 can accommodate up to 10 guests.

Others prefer the Fountaine Pajot catamarans that he manages in his fleet. Charterers like the raised helm, so a skipper can communicate with people sitting in the lounge atop the Bimini, or in the cockpit below.

“Then you have Bali, which takes the saloon and puts it in the cockpit; it’s like a cabana,” Murray says of that brand’s open, airy layout.

Cindy Kalow, owner of Superior Charters in Bayfield, Wisconsin, also manages a diverse fleet of older and newer boats, including a couple of Lagoon catamarans. Alongside her 30-boat charter fleet, she also runs a sailing school, and is the area’s Jeanneau and Lagoon dealer.

When customers ask her what’s the best boat to buy to put into charter, she tells them, “It’s the boat that makes you happy when you walk down the dock.”

People plan out a sailing vacation for any number of reasons. For some, it’s the destination; for others, it’s a chance to sail in a regatta in a tropical location; or a new-boat shopper might want to try out a particular model for a week or two before they buy. Chances are, if you have a particular kind, brand or model of boat you’re interested in, if you shop around, you’re bound to find it for charter.

What follows is a brief look at those 10 bestsellers mentioned in the beginning.

Bali Catspace Sail

Several years ago, longtime French performance-catamaran builder Chantier Catana jumped into the charter game with its Bali line of fixed-keel, roomy cruising cats. The most recent addition to that lineup, and reportedly the boat most often chosen when charter companies go shopping, is the 40-foot Bali Catspace Sail (a motor version is also available).

Like its larger siblings, the Catspace has a range of features designed for a crew of friends headed for tropical climes looking for sun, fun and rum, all mixed with a healthy dose of trade-wind sailing.

Designed by Olivier Poncin, the Catspace sports the Bali trademark garage-style saloon door that slides up and out of the way, opening up the cockpit and interior into one large, shaded living and entertaining space. A helm station is located one floor up, along with a padded lounge area that shares a portion of the cabin top aft of the mast and the cockpit Bimini.

Forward of the cabin, instead of trampolines, a solid fiberglass bridge deck spans the hulls to make room for yet another cushioned area in which to hang out. An added bonus of the solid foredeck is the lack of spray when underway.

Under sail, a self-tacking jib keeps the work simple for the day’s designated skipper, meaning the rest of the crew can kick back and enjoy the ride.

Depending on the charter program, the boat may be available in either a three- or four-cabin layout, and equipped with a range of kit that includes electric winches, a sprit and off-wind sail, watermaker, microwave, and an impressively sized fridge and freezer.

Bavaria C45

C45

Charterers bound for vacations aboard a monohull in Europe and certain parts of the Caribbean are likely to encounter the latest generation of Bavaria Yachts, which are built in Germany and drawn and styled by the team at Cossutti Yacht design in Italy.

I got to visit one of the latest models, the C45, at its introduction during the 2018 boat show in Dusseldorf, and my immediate impression was that it would make a good home away from home with a few family members and friends. I’ve not yet had a chance to sail the 45-footer, but I have thoroughly enjoyed a couple of afternoons out on the water aboard two other Cossutti-designed Bavarias. Both boats could click off the miles, and both were quite easy to sail shorthanded, thanks to a self-tacking jib and a double-ended mainsheet led to each of the twin wheels.

The cockpit area forward of the helms on the C45 includes benches to either side, each with its own table. This arrangement creates a clear path to the companionway and saloon down below.

At anchor, a large fold-down swim platform provides access to both the water and a dinghy garage. The transom is also home to a sink and grill for outdoor cooking.

Thanks to hull chines that create considerable interior volume, depending on your crew’s needs, the C45 is available with three, four and five cabins, so you can bring along the whole gang.

Beneteau 46.1

Oceanis 46.1

Beneteau first introduced the Oceanis 46.1 to North American sailors during the 2018 fall boat season, and it’s no surprise that it’s now the French builder’s most popular model sold to charter companies, especially in Europe, where monohulls remain in demand thanks to crowded harbors and the preference for tying stern to along a packed quay in many locations.

I got aboard the boat a couple of times that year, once in a new-model preview in Newport, Rhode Island, and again with CW ’s Boat of the Year judges in Annapolis, Maryland. Both times I came away impressed by the boat’s performance and creature comforts.

The Pascal Conq-designed hull is slippery through the water and delivers lots of space below (more on that in a minute). In 10 knots of breeze, we cruised upwind at close to 8 knots flying the easy-to-handle 107 percent genoa; cracked off on a reef with the code zero unfurled, the speedo jumped well into the 9s.

Meanwhile, the deck layout and interior by Nauta were both conducive to chartering. The work of sailing takes place aft of the twin helms, where sheets and other control lines are close at hand for the skipper and crew who want to join the fun. Those who want to relax can enjoy cockpit seats that convert to sunbeds, with more lounge pads to either side of the companionway.

The 46.1 comes in layouts ranging from three cabins and two heads to five cabins, meaning you can escape for a romantic week as a couple, or bring along a crowd for a party.

Dufour 530 Grand Large

Dufour 530 Grand Large

It’s easy to understand why the recently introduced Dufour 530 is already the company’s top seller for chartering. It’s a big, comfortable boat, loaded with options, and boy, does it sail.

For more than 15 years, Dufours have been designed by Umberto Felci, of Felci Yacht Design. The result is a range of boats which, as it scales up in size, maintains the same look and feel among all the models. With many charter fleets comprised of various-size Dufours, return skippers can feel encouraged to push their skill set by moving up from, say, the mid-40-footer they rented last time, and opting instead to step over the 50-foot threshold. And when they do, they will find that the 530′s self-tacking jib or slightly overlapping genoa is relatively easy to handle, while the rest of the boat has a familiar feel, right down to the layout of the saloon with its galley forward by the mast, and the grill and fold-down swim platform on the stern.

With a little more than 16 feet of beam, there’s lots of room for guests and belongings down below. Depending on the layout offered by the charter company, there can be anywhere from three to six cabins.

When sailing, that beamy hard-chined hull tends to keep the boat standing upright, ensuring nonsailing guests a comfortable ride. But the sailors aboard won’t be disappointed either. On a test sail this past fall, loping along at 8 knots in 10 knots of breeze, even though the Boat of the Year team was working, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Fountaine Pajot Isla 40

Isla 40

Fountaine Pajot has packed a lot of versatility into the Berret-Racoupeau-designed Isla 40, the smallest boat in the builder’s seven-model range of cruising catamarans.

At 40 feet LOA, the Isla is available in both a three- and four-cabin layout, depending on the charter program, and can include crew quarters in the bows, making it also suitable for a crewed charter.

The size of the cat, its sailing ability and its creature comforts are no doubt the reasons for its appeal to charterers. Laid out with four cabins with en suite heads, the Isla can carry a crowd, but its size also makes it easily handled by a skipper and shorthanded crew, or even a couple off on a holiday.

The Isla’s helm station is located on the starboard bulkhead, and it’s accessible from both the cockpit below and the side deck. This keeps the driver in contact with those lounging under the Bimini, but it also provides excellent access forward, if needed. All sail control lines are led to winches close at hand on the cabin top.

A well-equipped galley is just inside the saloon door, so meals can easily be passed to guests seated at the large outdoor table. Inside, a U-shaped couch forward surrounds a second, smaller table. Large windows surround the cabin, providing excellent 360-degree views. Meanwhile, ports in either hull allow light to pour into the sleeping cabins below. All in all, the Isla offers big-cat luxury at a smaller-boat price.

Hanse 458

If your sailing vacation plans include a Caribbean or European destination, a Hanse 458 could very well be one of the monohull sailboats available in the bareboat fleet. Designed by Judel/Vrolijk and built in Germany, the 458 is available with either three or four cabins, the latter likely being the preferred layout for the charter crowd.

As with its larger and smaller siblings, the 458 features a self-tacking jib, which simplifies maneuvering under sail. Tacking requires just a turn of the wheel, while a double-ended German-style mainsheet, led to a winch at each wheel, means that you have control of the main at all times, especially when jibing. Simple sailing doesn’t mean a lack of performance though. Hanse hulls are slippery, and the boat comes standard with a full-batten main that keeps the 458 moving well in light air. The main is easily put away in a boom pouch at the end of the day.

All the sailing is done aft of the twin wheels. Forward of them, guests can enjoy the generously sized L-shaped cockpit seats that sit to either side of a large table, complete with a built-in cooler. At anchor, a large swim platform provides easy access to the water, dinghy or, if Med-moored, the quay. And a clean uncluttered deck means there’s plenty of space to sunbathe forward of the mast.

Down below, the 458 is open and airy, with a minimalist interior that includes a well-stocked galley and a spacious dining area in the saloon.

Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 440

Jeanneau 440

Sometimes a charter trip means you get to discover a new location; other times, it’s a chance to experience a whole new concept in boat design. Depending on your destination, the Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 440 is capable of delivering on both counts.

With the 440, Jeanneau, along with designers Phillippe Briand and Jean-Marc Piaton, introduced the proprietary Walk Around Decks concept, an idea that garnered multiple awards, including CW ’s Most Innovative prize in the 2018 Boat of the Year contest.

With hard chines and beam carried well aft, the builder was able to reallocate interior space to include two full-size aft cabins and, topsides, side decks that slope down to meet the cockpit floor. From either of the twin wheels, captain and crew need only step outboard and saunter forward rather than having to climb over cockpit coamings to reach the side decks.

At anchor, the aforementioned cockpit coamings are hinged and can be folded out to create two huge sunbathing beds for the crew. Down below, meanwhile, layouts include a three-cabin version, with a large berth forward, or two forward cabins, both with double berths.

Under sail, the 440 performs well. The hull is slippery, and the anchor roller doubles as a tack-down point if off-wind sails are available; twin rudders provide plenty of control as conditions get sporty. In port, the roomy interior is bright and well-equipped for relaxing and entertaining around a large dining table surrounded by a U-shaped couch and centerline bench.

Lagoon 42

Various models of Lagoon Catamarans are found in charter fleets around the world, but the company says that the Lagoon 42, launched in 2016 and named Best Full-Size Catamaran Under 50 Feet in CW ’s 2017 Boat of the Year contest, is the top-selling model, probably for a number of reasons.

First, the boat’s price and size make it an affordable option for vacationers because they can take along as many guests as they might on a larger, more expensive model. As with most cats in this size range, the 42 is available in either a three- or four-cabin layout. In either case, ports in the hull let lots of light into the cabins, and opening hatches provide good ventilation.

And then there is the sail plan. Lagoon and the designers at VPLP have in recent years favored masts set farther aft, with high-aspect mainsails and larger headsails, which on the 42 includes a self-tacking jib and, if supplied by the charter company, a code zero or other off-wind sail.

On a sailing vacation, often the crew includes kids or friends with varying degrees of sailing experience. At 42 feet, this model is still relatively easy for a skipper to handle, even if everyone else decides to kick back and enjoy the ride. The helm is semiraised, so a driver sits looking out over the cabin top ahead and the Bimini behind. This provides good sightlines and also keeps the skipper in touch with the crew. All sail control lines, meanwhile, are led to clutches and a pair of winches within arm’s reach of the wheel, which is right where they should be.

Moorings 4500/Sunsail 454

Sunsail 454

Owned by the same parent company, the Moorings and Sunsail spec out and buy more charter catamarans than anyone in the world, and with the feedback that they get from customers, they have a pretty good idea of what people are looking for in a sailing vacation. So, there’s little wonder that the 45-footer built by Robinson and Caine and sold into charter as the Moorings 4500 and Sunsail 454 won the title of Best Charter Catamaran when CW ’s Boat of the Year judges were handing out awards in 2017.

The popular midsize cat is also sold to private owners as the Leopard 45, and is available in either a three- or four-cabin layout. Both charter brands opt for the latter, which provides for accommodations for up to 11 guests, thanks to a bunk forward of the double cabins in the port hull and a convertible berth for two in the saloon.

As with other models designed by Alex Simonis, the 45-footer features noteworthy views from multiple ports and cabin windows, as well as a watertight door that opens onto a forward, shaded cockpit. Anchored in the trade winds with both saloon doors open, the breeze keeps things cool, and sunrises and sunsets can be enjoyed while sitting at either end of the boat.

Underway, a square-top main and overlapping genoa provide plenty of horsepower, and there are multiple places on board for couple to find a private place to sit, or for the crew to gather to enjoy the ride.

Nautitech 46 Fly

Nautitech 46 Fly

Who doesn’t appreciate a rooftop balcony with a view, especially if that panorama consists of white sand beaches, palm trees waving in the trade winds, and gin-clear deep blue waters? Well, that’s exactly what you’ll get if you’re spending a week or two aboard a charter cat whose design includes a flybridge, say, for instance, the Nautitech 46 Fly.

Designed by Marc Lombard, the 46 comes in an open version, with the helm mounted on the cabin bulkhead, and the Fly, with essentially a third floor added atop the saloon and cockpit Bimini. From there, the skipper has a commanding 360-degree view while seated at the helm, and the crew can lounge around a table surrounded by padded seats and a sun lounge.

In other words, the flybridge adds the option of sailing and living completely alfresco if guests prefer to, or they can relax in the shade down below under the Bimini. And should a squall come through and rain on paradise, there’s the adjacent saloon with its aft-facing galley and additional couches to enjoy.

For charter, the 46 Fly comes in a four-cabin layout with en suite heads. A self-tacking jib and full-batten main are standard. Depending on the charter company, the sail inventory also might include a code zero or other off-wind sail. Atop the flybridge, all sail control lines lead to the winches at the centerline helm, making shorthanded sailing quite possible if others aboard want to simply sit and enjoy the ride.

Best Sailboats For Charter (Popular Options)

Best Sailboats For Charter (Popular Options) | Life of Sailing

Last Updated by

Daniel Wade

December 28, 2023

Families and adventurists that want a taste of the ocean can use a charter sailboat. Finding the best sailboats for charter is debated among various factors.

Some of the best selling sailboats that are larger tend to be a good option. So what are some of the best charter sailboats?

You have plenty of choices when it comes to a charter sailboat since they can be either a monohull or catamaran. The Bali Catspace Sail, Fountaine Pajot Isla 40, and Lagoon 42 are great catamaran options. As for monohulls, look for Bavaria C45, Beneteau 46.1, and Dufour 530 Grand Large.

The beauty of having different sailboat options to choose from is that you can accommodate any situation. If you have a large group and want to feel what it is like on a catamaran, you can kill two birds with one stone.

Experts in the sailing charter industry recommend using a boat that is over 40 feet. This allows you to split costs between other guests, and you are likely to have more people on board to help out.

‍ Charter Sailboats to Choose

If you want the best sailing experience on a charter, you will have to make some decisions as to what you want the boat to be like. This means the choice between a monohull and catamaran, how many cabins it has, and what the cost of the trip will be.

Each boat type will have its own unique advantages over the other. While neither one is going to be a wrong choice, you certainly have the opportunity to make your situation better with a charter.

Five of the Best Charter Monohulls

Bavaria c45.

{{boat-info="/boats/bavaria-c45"}}

The Bavaria C45 is a popular option that you will see if you use a charter service in Europe and the Caribbean. It is steadily growing to become one of the more popular monohulls for charters worldwide. If you want a home away from home, this is the monohull for you.

The self-tacking jib offers some relief for a shorthanded crew. The galley was designed with space in mind, so guests can comfortably eat.

There is even a folded-down platform to allow access to the water and a garage for the dinghy. Depending on how big you need it, you can get this model in either a three, four, or five-cabin layout.

Beneteau 46.1

{{boat-info="/boats/beneteau-oceanis-46-1"}}

The Beneteau 46.1 is one of the best selling monohulls that you will find in Europe and in North America. Charter companies cannot get enough of this excellent design and its sailing capabilities.

It features cockpit seats that convert to sunbeds so your guests can lay out and enjoy the sun. The fractional sloop allows it to go at a comfortable speed and is easy to handle.

It is one of the smoother monohulls to sail over 10 knots, so be prepared to fall in love. You can find this one with three cabins and two heads or just five cabins.

Dufour 530 Grand Large

{{boat-info="/boats/dufour-530-grand-large"}}

The Dufour 530 is the best selling monohull for that brand, with charter companies being a top buyer. It has excellent sailing capabilities and tons of comfort to fit many people on a charter.

Since Dufour has made various sized models over the years for charter companies, many sailors are used to this boat. Therefore, it is easier to find someone to sail it and you can typically jump up in size from 40 feet to 50 feet without any issues for the captain. So for those that want a taste of a larger boat, stepping up in size will not be a problem.

For guests, there is plenty of space depending on the model. Some are equipped with three cabins, while some vary up to six. You can accommodate plenty of guests no matter what cabin size you go with.

{{boat-info="/boats/hanse-458"}}

Another popular monohull that you will see in charter fleets in Europe or the Caribbean is the Hanse 458 . With its self-tacking jib and a double-ended mainsheet, it is quite easy to sail shorthanded and achieve fast speeds. Everything is controlled by the wheel by the connections, especially when jibbing.

The interior offers plenty of room, assuming you can organize it properly for large parties. On the stern, there is a large swimming platform for simple access on or off the boat. You can find these in either a three or four-cabin layout.

Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 440

{{boat-info="/boats/jeanneau-sun-odyssey-440"}}

The Sun Odyssey 440 boasts an innovative design that other boats do not have, making it unique compared to other monohulls. They are equipped with side decks to walk on, while underneath are two cabins.

There are many accommodations to make this a comfortable experience. This model has three cabins with a larger forward berth or two double berths.

You can fold out the cockpit coamings to make two large sunbathing beds or you could spend some time practicing your sailing skills if you are looking for this particular design. Also, a spacious galley with comfortable seats makes eating more enjoyable.

Five of the Best Charter Catamarans

Bali catspace.

{{boat-info="/boats/bali-catspace"}}

The Bali Catspace is a beautiful catamaran that was designed to have all the room you need while offering a smooth ride on the water. When sailing, the self-tacking jib makes life a lot easier for whoever is running the boat.

Depending on what model a charter program might have, you can find this with either a three or four-cabin layout. These also include a variety of additional features such as a watermaker, good size refrigerator, and electric winches.

Fountaine Pajot Isla 40

{{boat-info="/boats/fountaine-pajot-isla-40"}}

The Fountaine Pajot Isla 40 is one of the most versatile catamarans out there, despite being a little smaller in size. Even at 40 feet, you can still find models that include either a three or four-cabin layout. You can even make the bow another room if you decide to add more people to a charter.

Due to its size, it is easy to handle by one experienced person or a shorthanded crew. This might be one of the best bang-for your-buck catamarans since it is not as large as other popular models.

{{boat-info="/boats/lagoon-42"}}

The Lagoon 42 is one of the most popular catamarans in charter fleets all across the globe. This model in particular, is the best selling one in the lineup.

You cannot go wrong with the price and size in comparison to other brands. It offers either a three or four-cabin layout depending on the year of the model. It is also easy to handle, meaning one person can take over while everyone else enjoys the charter.

Moorings 4500

{{boat-info="/boats/robertson-and-caine-moorings-4500"}}

The Moorings 4500 is a great option for charter companies because of the number of options. It can either have three or four cabins, accommodating up to 11 guests, and has tons of room on the 45-foot boat to stretch out.

No matter where you sit on this boat, it has some of the best views all the way around. Due to the boat having plenty of windows in all of the rooms, you will not miss out on views anywhere.

Nautitech 46 Fly

{{boat-info="/boats/nautitech-46-fly"}}

The Nautitech 46 Fly is one of the more interesting-looking catamarans on the market for charters. This one in particular, has what is known as a flybridge, which is basically a balcony where you steer the boat.

From the flybridge, the captain has a 360-degree view at the helm and can see everyone on deck. It also has everything needed to control the ride, so others can enjoy it while one person does the work.

These come in four-cabin layouts, so there is plenty of room to accommodate a handful of guests. With it just shy of being 46 feet in length, you have a well-designed catamaran with tons of space.

Why You Might See More Monohulls

In the Mediterranean, monohulls have a hold on the market in just about every category. Due to sailing preferences across those regions, consumers’ tastes are different than those that might opt for a catamaran.

When looking at crowded harbors, it is also easier to tie up a monohull. Catamarans take up twice the space and cost more to park. In addition, this is also double the maintenance costs for charter companies so those prices will reflect on your adventure.

While catamarans have just as much room as monohulls, monohulls tend to have more cabins in some models. European boat makers know what charter companies want, so they try to make it work with more cabins and heads. This has allowed monohulls to dominate the market for various charter companies around the world.

As mentioned, many sailors are used to sailing a 40-foot monohull sailboat. Some brands are so similar that it would be easy to step up to a 50-footer, assuming the captain is fine with it.

For larger catamarans or potentially larger boats, you might have to outsource to try and find a captain that can handle that. This means more costs for the charter or potentially risking it having any sales since it is limited on who can sail.

Why You Might See More Catamarans

In North America, you are likely to see a mix of both catamarans and monohulls. It is difficult to pinpoint which one is better than the other in the opinion of Americans. However, Americans tend to purchase vacations or items out of comfort or luxury.

A catamaran will rival the same amount of space and features that a monohull has. However, catamarans are often more comfortable and offer a smoother ride. For Americans that have never sailed or do not like the feeling of a monohull, a catamaran is a way to go.

Catamarans are generally displayed as luxury sailboat, meaning they are advertised for vacations as you would see in a charter. Even though a monohull could be plentiful in your area for charters, a catamaran might have more of an appeal for those that want luxury.

What Sailboat is Right for Charter?

Depending on your situation for a holiday or a day out, a charter monohull or catamaran can help with your sailing goals. When choosing what works best, you need to break it down into four categories.

These include price, number of people attending, you are trying out boats, and whatever makes you happy. More options can be added once you narrow down your sailing goals.

Some charters charge several hundred dollars per day, up to potentially several thousand dollars per day. Depending on the year and brand of the boat, you could be spending a lot of money.

Catamarans are slightly more expensive, likely due to supply and demand for customers wanting to book one. If all you want is the sailing experience, monohulls offer slightly cheaper options. You do not have to break the bank to get out on the water, but just make sure your budget allows for the trip.

Number Attending

The number of people attending makes a huge difference in the type of boat you need and the overall price. For one, the size of the boat needs to accommodate however many people are in your party.

If you have a group of three people and you want to spend three days on a charter, the prices drop quite a bit versus just one or two people. The prices could be given a discount if the charter company needs more people to go or allows group rates.

Try Before You Buy

Sailors that want a taste of either a monohull or catamaran can go on charters to try them out first. If there is a specific brand in mind or you want to try out a different size, this is the perfect opportunity to test sail a potentially new addition to your family.

If you are interested in the Lagoon 42 but not many people have them where you live, a charter can help you get a feel for it if you are thinking about buying one for yourself. Instead of driving hours away to find one that someone is selling, you can test it out first on a charter.

Makes You Happy

If you are considering going on a charter and still do not know what boat you want to go with, just go with what makes you happiest. If the price is not that big of an issue and you have most of what you need in either boat, simply go with what you think could bring you the most fun for you or your group.

Should You Go With a Charter?

Charters are a great alternative to getting out on the water and experiencing life at sea. Even better, you allow someone else to sail you around while you get to enjoy the sun, waves, and scenery.

Using a charter also lets you experience life on certain sailboats that might be hard to find these days. These include classic schooners or even famous sailboats that were used for racing.

Charters are positive experiences assuming you have your sailing goals in place. Whether you go with a monohull or catamaran, a charter is a great start to explore.

Bareboat Charter in the Bahamas

Superyacht charter in the bahamas, travel tips:.

  • The Bahamas is relatively hassle-free, with minimal red tape. All travelers, including U.S. citizens, require a passport. Nassau’s Lynden Pindling International Airport implements TSA PreCheck, and Paradise Island facilitates pre-clearance for U.S. Customs and Immigration Services.
  • Private flight options are available through several fixed-base operators (FBO), like Jet Nassau and Odyssey Aviation. For a fee, the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism offers expedited services at the airport when flying commercial or transferring to the FBO from Nassau. You can also fly into George Town, Staniel Cay, Norman’s Cay, or Eleuthera.
  • A daily ferry runs from Fort Lauderdale to Grand Bahama Island, approximately three hours, but make sure it makes sense for your charter base location.
  • The Moorings can help organize travel, and brokers can recommend travel arrangements.
  • D’Offay recommends your broker organize transportation to the boat to ensure you get a reliable vehicle and driver. Minimize carrying valuables, check travel advisories, and be aware of your surroundings.

Terms and conditions, charter experts, llc terms & conditions.

PLEASE READ THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS (“ Terms ”) CAREFULLY AS THEY CONTAIN IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS, REMEDIES AND OBLIGATIONS AS WELL AS A SECTION GOVERNING THE JURISDICTION AND VENUE OF DISPUTES. THESE TERMS ALSO CONTAIN A LEGALLY BINDING RELEASE, WAIVER OF LIABILITY, AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK. By creating a username, a login, clicking submit, using the services of Charter Experts, LLC d/b/a Virgin Island Sailing® (“ Broker ) or by accessing Broker’s website, you agree that you have read, and acknowledge your acceptance of these Terms. The Terms are subject to change at any time without notice at Broker’s sole discretion. Additionally, any transaction for which you have made payment shall be governed by the form of Terms in effect at the time of such payment notwithstanding any subsequent changes hereto.

If you are obtaining a quote, information, booking travel for and/or securing or procuring a Charter (as that term is defined in Section 1 below) for more than just yourself, all references below to “Charterer” or “you” (and derivations thereof) shall be read to mean you on behalf of yourself and each individual within your group for whom you are obtaining a quote, information, booking travel for and/or securing or procuring Charter.

These Terms shall be read together and construed, to the fullest extent possible, to be in concert with any other agreement by or among Broker and Charterer. To the extent they cannot be so construed, then in the event of any direct conflict between these Terms and any other agreement by or among Broker and Charterer (including but not limited to the agreement executed by Charterer for a Charter Reservation (as that term is defined in Section 1 below), these Terms shall prevail.

  • Prepaid Charter Reservations . Typically, Broker negotiates charter rates in advance with the yacht owner or charter company (“ Charter Provider ”) to obtain cost-effective rates, and facilitate reservations and availability for yacht charters, excursions and travel (the “ Charter ”). Broker also provides services to you by facilitating the booking of reservations for consideration and receives a commission from the Charter Provider (the “ Broker Fee ”). The Broker Fee is included in the pre-negotiated Charter rate provided to you, plus taxes and other fees where applicable. You agree that your payment is for the total amount set forth in the applicable Charter agreement (which Charter Provider may refer to as a Charter Contract, Charter Agreement, Booking Terms & Conditions, Instructions and Terms for Accommodations, as well as other derivations) provided to you by Broker (“ Charter Agreement ”). Upon execution of the Charter Agreement and receipt of the applicable deposit, you will have made a reservation for the Charter that authorizes Broker to facilitate the Charter on your behalf (“Charter Reservation”), including making payment arrangements with the Charter Provider. You further agree that Broker is a third-party beneficiary to the Charter Agreement and shall have the right to enforce such agreement to the extent it deems such enforcement necessary or advisable to protect its rights hereunder or under the Charter Agreement.

Broker retains the Broker Fee as compensation in arranging your Charter Reservation. The Broker Fee varies based on the amount and type of Charter and/or services provided by Broker.  By making a Charter Reservation, you accept and agree to the relevant cancellation and no-show policy of the Charter Provider set forth in the Charter Agreement. Cancellation and no-show policies vary for each Charter. Carefully read the Charter Agreement and additional information provided to you by Broker. It is expressly agreed by Charterer that the Broker Fee is earned at the time the Charter Reservation is made. Late payment, wrong credit card or debit card details, invalid credit or debit cards, or insufficient funds are for your own risk and account, and you will not be entitled to any refund of any prepaid amount unless the Charter Provider expressly agrees otherwise under the Charter Agreement or in some other signed writing.

  • Charter Rules and Restrictions . Additional terms and agreements will apply to your Charter Reservation and any purchase or rental of equipment or other items, supplies, provisions and travel you may select. Please read those additional terms carefully. In particular, if you have purchased airfare, please ensure that you read the full terms and conditions of carriage issued by the supplier. You agree to abide by the terms of purchase imposed by any supplier with whom you elect to deal, including but not limited to payment of all amounts when due and compliance with the supplier’s rules and restrictions regarding availability, charges, fares, and use of products and services.
  • Payment . All payments must be made by personal check, bank/wire transfer, ACH payment and/or with a major credit card unless otherwise expressly stated. The total price for the Charter Reservation will be billed in U.S. Dollars unless otherwise stated. Some banks and credit card companies impose fees for international transactions. If you are making a reservation from outside of the United States on a US credit card, your bank may convert the payment amount to your local currency and charge you a conversion fee. This means the amount listed on your credit or bank card statement may be in your local currency and therefore a different figure than the amount provided by Broker for the Charter Reservation. In addition, a foreign transaction fee may be assessed if the financial institution that issued your credit card is located outside of the United States. Booking international travel may be considered to be an international transaction by the financial institution or card company. The currency exchange rate and foreign transaction fee is determined solely by your financial institution on the day that it processes the transaction. If you have any questions about these fees or the exchange rate applied to your booking, please contact your financial institution. Broker shall not be liable to you for any such service, conversion, or exchange fee.

Broker expressly reserves the right to cancel your Charter Reservation if full payment is not timely received as set forth in the Charter Agreement.

  • Cancellation and Rescheduling . You may cancel or change your Charter Reservation as set forth in the Charter Agreement by and among you, the Charter Provider and/or Broker. Please note that some Charter Providers do not permit changes to or cancellation of reservations after they are made, or after a certain date, as indicated in the Charter Agreement. You agree to abide by the terms of the Charter Agreement with respect to your Charter Reservation. Broker will not be responsible for reimbursing Charterer for any previously tendered deposits or payments by Charterer and disclaims all liability for the failure of a Charter Provider to refund or return any such funds.
  • Credit Card Transactions and Chargebacks . If for any reason, any Charter Provider is unable to provide the Charter, or any part thereof, for which you have contracted, your remedy lies against the Charter Provider, and not against Broker. However, Broker will use reasonable efforts to assist you and Charter Provider in reaching a resolution to a dispute between you and the Charter Provider. In the event that your payment has already been transferred from Broker to Charter Provider or to an escrow account, you agree that you will not seek a chargeback against Broker for such amounts transferred. You further agree to indemnify and hold Broker harmless from and against any liability, loss, damage or expense (including without limitation, reasonable attorneys’ fees) that Broker may incur in connection with chargebacks against Broker or under the Charter Agreement and your performance thereunder. If Broker incurs any costs, including but not limited to attorneys’ fees, to recover any payments charged back by your credit card company or other financial institution, you agree that you will be liable for these costs. If your payment is declined for any reason, you agree to settle any amounts owed to Broker via money order, cashier’s check, personal check or bank/ACH transfer immediately.
  • Broker Responsibility . Broker makes arrangements with the Charter Provider. Broker additionally makes additional arrangements with other suppliers for the various components and other services that comprise your Charter (“Charter Suppliers”). Broker is not an agent of these Charter Providers or the Charter Suppliers (and the Charter Providers and Charter Suppliers are not agents of Broker). Broker expressly disclaims any liability for the actions or omissions of the Charter Provider and the Charter Suppliers. The Charter Providers and the Charter Suppliers reserve the right to refuse service to you at their sole discretion. Broker assumes no liability for the acts of the Charter Provider or the Charter Suppliers in refusing service. Broker is not responsible for schedule changes and does not offer compensation for those changes. Broker is not responsible under any circumstances for any injury or damages you may suffer, in connection with sea, air or ground transportation, hotel accommodations, or other travel or excursion services arranged by Broker.

You understand Broker is not the source or supplier of the Charter or other travel services you requested and acts solely as a broker for the Charter Provider and the Charter Suppliers. You agree that the Charter Provider and Charter Suppliers whose names appear in the information supplied to you are those who are solely responsible for providing the Charter you purchase. You consent to and request the use of the Charter Provider and the Charter Suppliers and agree to not hold Broker responsible should any of them: (i) fail to provide the Charter or travel services you purchased, whether or not such services are listed in the Charter Agreement or otherwise, (ii) fail to comply with any applicable law, or (iii) engage in any negligent act or omission that causes you any sort of injury, damage, delay or inconvenience.

By using Broker’s services, you waive and release any claim against Broker, its affiliated and subsidiary companies, and their respective officers, directors, employees, contractors, and agents, arising out of or in connection with any loss of or damage to property or injury to any person caused by reason of (i) any defect, negligence, or other wrongful act or omission, or any failure of performance of any kind, by any Charter Provider, Charter Suppliers, or any other provider of sea, airline, hotel, ground transportation or any other travel provider connected to or otherwise associated with the Charter, (ii) any claim for inconvenience, loss of enjoyment, mental distress or other similar claim, (iii) any delayed departure, missed connection, substitute accommodation, termination of service or change in fares or rates, and (iv) overbooking, flight or other travel cancellation, lost or misconnected personal property, or any claim arising out of the air transportation portion of your travel, and (v) or any other claim arising out of or otherwise related to the Charter Agreement or services provided by the Charter Provider and the Charter Suppliers.

Excepting only liability that directly arises from the gross negligence or willful misconduct of Broker, you will not hold Broker responsible for any injury, damage or loss you may suffer while on a Charter, whether incurred on the Charter or in connection with any other rental, purchase, excursion or activity, regardless of the relationship of any of the foregoing with the Charter Provider or the Charter Suppliers.

  • Your Responsibility . By booking a Charter with Broker, you agree to defend and indemnify and hold harmless Broker, Charter Provider, Charter Suppliers, and each of their respective officers, directors, employees and agents, from and against any and all claims, causes of action, demands, recoveries, losses, damages, fines, penalties or other costs or expenses of any kind or nature, including but not limited to reasonable legal fees, arising out of or in connection with: (i) your breach of these Terms or the documents referenced herein; (ii) your violation of any law or rights of a third party; or (iii) your use of the Broker website.

You will review your Charter Agreement and travel documents for accuracy upon receipt. You understand that it is your responsibility to review the accuracy of all details in the Charter Reservation provided to you, and that you may contact Broker if you have any questions.

You assume full and complete responsibility for checking and verifying any and all passport, visa, vaccination, or other entry requirements of your destination(s), and all conditions regarding health, safety, security, political stability, and labor or civil unrest at such destination(s).

You understand that Broker recommends purchasing travel insurance to cover certain risks inherent in travel such as supplier bankruptcy and the inability to travel due to a medical or personal emergency.

  • No Warranties . All Charters, products, services, advice and information is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, either expressed or implied to the fullest extent permitted under the law, including but not limited to, warranties of title or implied warranties of merchantability, satisfactory quality or fitness for a particular purpose. Without limiting the above, no warranty or guarantee is made (i) regarding the acceptance of any reservation request or Charter Reservation; (ii) regarding the availability of Charters, or any other product and/or services through Broker; (iii) that the use of Broker’s website will be error-free; or (iv) regarding the completeness, accuracy, reliability or quality of any information, content, data, service, advice or merchandise provided by Broker or through Broker’s website.

Broker has no special knowledge regarding the Charter Provider’s or Charter Supplier’s financial condition, unsafe conditions, health hazards, weather hazards, or climate extremes at locations to which you may travel during or otherwise in connection with your Charter.

  • Limitation on Liability . In no event shall Broker, Charter Provider, Charter Suppliers, and/or their respective affiliates, or any employees, agents, officers, directors, members or managers of any of the foregoing (“Broker and Charter Releasees”), be liable for any direct, indirect, punitive, incidental, special or consequential damages arising out of, or in any way connected with, your access to, display of or use the Broker’s website, the Charter or services provided to you in connection with the Charter (including, but not limited to, your reliance upon opinions of the Broker), whether based on a theory of negligence, contract, tort, strict liability, consumer protection statutes, or otherwise, and even if Broker and/or any other of the Broker and Charter Releasees have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

If, despite the limitation above, Broker or the Broker and Charter Releasees are found liable for any loss or damage which arises out of or in any way connected with any of the occurrences described above, then Broker, Charter Provider, Charter Supplier and the Broker and Charter Releasees will in no event exceed, in the aggregate, the greater of (a) the Broker Fee, and (b) One-Hundred Dollars (US $100.00).

The foregoing limitation of liability reflects the allocation of risk between the parties. The limitations specified in this section will survive and apply even if any limited remedy specified in these Terms is found to have failed of its essential purpose. The limitations of liability provided in these Terms inure to the benefit of Broker and/or its providers.

The foregoing does not affect any liability which cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

  • Limitation on Time to File Claims . ANY CAUSE OF ACTION OR CLAIM YOU MAY HAVE ARISING OUT OF RELATING TO BROKER’S SERVICES OR THE WEBSITE MUST BE COMMENCED WITHIN ONE (1) YEAR AFTER THE CAUSE OF ACTION ACCRUES, OTHERWISE, SUCH CAUSE OF ACTION OR CLAIM IS PERMANENTLY BARRED.
  • Waiver . No waiver by Broker of any term or condition set forth in these Terms shall be deemed a further or continuing waiver of such term or condition or a waiver of any other term or condition, and any failure of the Broker to assert a right or provision under these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.
  • Severability . If any provision of these Terms is held by a court or other tribunal of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, illegal or unenforceable for any reason, such provision shall be eliminated or limited to the minimum extent such that the remaining provisions of the Terms will continue in full force and effect.
  • Governing Law and Mandatory Venue . The laws of the State of Florida govern the rights and obligations of the parties to this Agreement and the interpretation, construction and enforceability thereof. You agree that any action or proceeding initiated by Charterer against Broker shall be brought solely in the federal and state courts of Hillsborough County, Florida, and you submit to the jurisdiction of those courts and waive any objections to the exercise of personal jurisdiction over you by those courts. In the event any action or proceeding is initiated by Charterer in a court outside of Hillsborough County, Florida, Charterer agrees to pay Broker’s costs and reasonable attorneys’ fees associated with defending such action or proceeding and waives any and all defenses to the transfer of said action or proceeding, whether jurisdictional or otherwise, to a federal or state court in Hillsborough County, Florida.

Timmerman Yachts was founded in 2003 and named after Franz Timmerman (1644-1702) who introduced Dutch boat building methods to Russia in the 17th century. Timmerman is credited with convincing Peter the First of both the importance and the charm of maritime affairs and he was entrusted with the construction of great fleets of both naval and trading vessels. As well as forging links between two Great European Embassies, Franz Timmerman was also able to arrange for Tsar Peter to study at the Amsterdam boat yards where the Tsar got his "Certificate of Timmerman" as ship joiner.

The yachting company continues this very successful Russian-Dutch partnership, with more than 1000 people who studied in Holland now working at Timmerman Yachts at the Moscow Shipyard in Russia. The name of Franz Timmerman, co-founder of the Russian Navy, is honoured in the title of this project. "Our aim is to build the best motor yachts from the point of view of the ratio “price-quality”, combining in them the newest technologies of European yacht-building with reliability of Russian ship-building, having military roots" -  Dmitry Mironenkov, the president of Timmerman Yachts.

Timmerman has  powerful production capabilities, broad experience, exceptional  specialist knowledge, and cooperation with the leading Dutch Naval Architects which enable them to realize the most incredible and daring ideas into their superyacht projects. The consortium enables its client to receive a luxury motor yacht with unlimited range and best consumer qualities, at an attractive price and in reasonable time. Names of the luxury yachts delivered by Timmerman include motor yacht Victoria M (2008), megayacht ALEXANDRA (2008), motor yacht Kitty (2008), New Star , (2006), M/Y Nord Star , (2005), Smile (2004) M/Y Olsten 125' ( 2004), and motor yacht Pallada (2003), Novaya Zvezda (2006).

Timmerman yachts comply with the highest shipbuilding standards: certification and supervision of DNV, MCA, Russian River Register. This kind of approach to certification provides complete compliance of yacht characteristics with international standards and allows a yacht owner to charter his yacht in any part of the world and to sell it without any difficulty.

The consortium allows its client to get a motor yacht with unlimited range and best consumer qualities, with attractive prices and in reasonable time.

At the moment the shipyard is building 17 yachts. According to the length of the yachts Timmerman Yachts is among the ten leading shipyards of the world.
