Founded in 1972, Pierpont Bay Yacht Club is located on the east end of Ventura Harbor in the Ventura Isle Marina on Spinnaker Drive. Spectacular sunsets overlooking Ventura Harbor and the Topa Topa mountains can be viewed from our second story deck. The clubhouse features a cocktail lounge with a ‘living room’ atmosphere in which members and their guests can relax and enjoy a variety of social activities and watch sports and movies on our big screen TV’s. Most functions are casual dress with the key word being FUN!

RACING Pierpont Bay Yacht Club is a member of the Southern California Yachting Association and the United States Sailing Association. One of the highlights of the racing season is the annual Milt Ingram Trophy Race, the largest race in Ventura County. Milt’s Race was set up so that if you own a sailboat, “there’s a class for you“.

COMMUNITY Pierpont Bay Yacht Club recognizes a commitment to our community. We support the Leo Robbins Community Sailing Center, where children of members may participate at no charge, and we also participate in the annual Caregivers Sailathon to support services for the elderly of Ventura County.

MEETINGS General membership meetings are generally held on the fourth Saturday of each month beginning at 6:00pm. Check the club calendar as dates may vary to accommodate races and holidays.

Ventura Canoe & Kayak Club

The Ventura Canoe & Kayak Club sprint racing canoes and kayaks at the Ventura Harbor and welcome both youth and adult athletes!

The club was originally known as the “Ventura Olympic Canoe Club” and had many National titles in the late 1970s and 80s. After a dormant period, the club is being rebuilt as the Ventura Canoe & Kayak Club.

Club membership can be for anyone 12 years old and up! Competition age brackets are set at under 18, under 16, and under 14 divisions for youth. Adults may compete in the Senior (or open) category, as well as master’s divisions. Masters age groups begin at age 30, with different divisions spread out over 15-year intervals.

The mission of the Ventura Canoe & Kayak Club is to produce world-class paddlers that have a life-long love for the sport, providing a community that focuses on helping all paddlers reach their highest potential.

Not the fanciest yacht club but most definitely the coolest and quaintest. A facility to meet up with friends and family for events with a beautiful view.

I just discovered this little tem slightly before covid. It's is probably one of the better locations with views of the ocean as well as our mountains. I have met some fun people there too. It's not a fancy club it's one of those places where you can meet the girls and play some card games out on the deck or meet clients there at the bar. This is exactly the kind of cool vibe I am looking for. Facility is clean. The dues are reasonable and there is no monthly minimum use prepay. They do this by being partially self help, each of the members trades off as being the bartender.

Ditto on the last review. AND now we have more members , making the club house the place to be on Fri, Sat or Sun. One super benefit is that the rental fee is waived for members when there is no scheded club event. We're personally hosted birthdays, retirements, a wedding reception & an occasional professional group. Members an also just come up midweek to BBQ or hang out and watch TV or the spectacular sunsets... If the club isn't reserved.

PBYC hosts lots of races, and its members range from serious racers to folks who just like to hang out. Membership is easy to get. Worth checking out if you want to have a place to have fun on and near the ocean!

Ventura County’s largest sailboat race returns, July 7-9

VENTURA ― The 33rd Annual Milt Ingram Trophy Race, Ventura County’s largest sailboat race, returns to California’s south central coast, July 7-9. Pierpont Bay Yacht Club (PBYC) hosts the race, which is also part of Santa Barbara Yacht Club’s Wilson Series and Ventura Sailing Club’s beach cat series.

Sailors will race out of Ventura Harbor and navigate to Anacapa Island before returning back to the harbor. The race attracts sailors from Southern California and neighboring Arizona.

The monohull entry earning the lowest corrected time will win the Milt Ingram Perpetual Trophy. Only sailing members of Southern California Yachting Association or U.S. Sailing affiliated yacht clubs are eligible for the Milt Ingram Trophy.

Also being awarded at the Milt Ingram Trophy Race will be Classic Yacht Perpetual Trophy, Woman Skipper Perpetual Trophy First to Finish Perpetual Trophy, Craig Ashby Memorial Trophy, The Mates’ Trophy (best scoring double-handed entry), A-Class Trophy (for Spinnaker A class entries), Tom Spurgin Memorial Trophy (non-spinnaker) and Catamaran Class Trophy.

Racers can pick up their race packets beginning at 7 p.m., July 7. A skipper’s meeting will be held at 8:30 a.m., July 8, followed by first start at 11 a.m. PBYC will host a complimentary post-race meal the evening of July 8.

Festivities end July 9 with a champagne breakfast and trophy presentation beginning at 10 a.m.

Ventura Isle Marina offers seven nights free dockage for participants docked in marinas beyond Channel Islands, Santa Barbara or Ventura harbors; Santa Barbara-docked boats are offered three nights complementary dockage at the marina, while local boats can take advantage of the offering for one night, based upon availability.

Welcome to Santa Barbara Sailing Club

The Santa Barbara Sailing Club is located in Santa Barbara, California, approximately 100 miles north of Los Angeles. Our mild Mediterranean climate allows us to sail year-round.

Santa Barbara Sailing Club (SBSC) was established in 1959 to promote primarily one-design class sailboat racing in the Santa Barbara harbor area. Since then our activities have expanded to include PHRF race categories and cruising activities. Affordable access to the sport of sailboat racing has been a primary objective of the SBSC.

SBSC is a member of the ISAF, US Sailing, the Southern California Yachting Association (SCYA), and the Association of Santa Barbara Channel Yacht Clubs (ASBCYC). We have an active inter-club racing program to accommodate all levels of racing skills and inclinations. Besides being represented at various class regattas and ocean races, SBSC stages annual regattas and is co-sponsor with the Pierpont Bay Yacht Club of the Hardway Race (Santa Barbara to Ventura around Santa Cruz Island).

The Club maintains a boat storage yard in the Santa Barbara harbor area for the benefit of Flag Members. The yard normally contains about 20 boats up to 26 feet in length. A 4000 pound capability hoist, maintained jointly by SBSC and the Santa Barbara Yacht Club, is available nearby for launching boats. In addition to boat storage, the boat yard serves as a meeting place for pre- and post-race activities.

We are an active and congenial group who believe that sailing is more fun as a group activity and we promote racing as a means of improving seamanship and sailing skills. Go to our FAQ page to learn more about the club.
