Lil Yachty x Nike Air Force 1 Low “Concrete Boys” Revealed

Lil Yachty and Nike have something special on the way as the rapper revealed the Lil Yachty x Nike Air Force 1 Low “Concrete Boys” via a Close Friends post on Instagram.

The artist, known for his extensive sneaker collection and knowledge, will be releasing an exclusive Nike Air Force 1 Low . Keeping it simple and calling back to the classic AF1 days, the shoe is designed with a predominantly all-white upper and dark navy hits on the outsole, lining, tongue tag and Concrete Boys logo on the heel counter. A light blue insole with “It’s Us” lettering in white completes the pair. Additionally, the shoe is housed in special co-branded packaging.

The Lil Yachty x Nike Air Force 1 Low “Concrete Boys” is expected to release in limited quantities as the artist asked his fans to DM him their size and addresses for a chance at a pair. A SNKRS and wide release date are not anticipated.

Lil Yachty took to his Instagram “Close Friends” list Wednesday to reveal his forthcoming Nike Air Force 1 collaboration. Naturally, the images didn’t remain within his green list for long.

The musician’s Air Force 1 Low is predominately white save for the outsole, sock liner, and branding appearing in navy. A logo for Concrete Boys, the name of Lil Yachty ‘s music label imprint and a song from “2020,” is embroidered onto the lateral heel while the Nike logo has been altered to read “It’s Us” beneath the Swoosh on the tongue tag and insole.

These alterations are only slight but are similar to Fat Joe’s Air Force 1 Low “Terror Squad” releases from earlier this year.

Lil Yachty first revealed the existence of his own AF1 in a video from the sneaker resale shop Cool Kicks’ YouTube channel. There have been conflicting reports on if the sneaker will actually release to the public, with Complex saying it’ll be a friends and family exclusive and the reliable leak account @Ovrnunder saying it’ll drop in 2024.

The truth could be somewhere in the middle, with this version being F&F only and another variant designated for a wider release. More information should arrive in the coming months, but it wouldn’t be a surprise for Nike to release a Yachty collaboration based on how big of a year he’s had in 2023. He also played a major role in the rollout for Cactus Plant Flea Market’s recently released Nike Air Flea 2.

Lil Yachty Helps Promote Drake's New Nike Shoes

Drake recruited Lil Yachty to model the NOCTA x Nike Hot Step Air Terra "Black & Gold" shoes before its upcoming release.

Sportswear giant Nike knew what it was doing by partnering with Drake . Similar to athletes, the superstar rapper is able to elevate everyone around him. Even better, fellow rappers want to team up with Drake whenever they get the chance.

Earlier this year, Drake launched his own sub-label under Nike called NOCTA . In addition to performance apparel, NOCTA is tackling lifestyle shoes. So far, two colorways of the NOCTA x Nike Hot Step Air Terra have been released, and a third is on the way.

Drake enlisted rapper Lil Yachty to promote the 'Black & Gold' colorway to further drive up hype for the already hotly-anticipated shoes. NOCTA posted pictures of Lil Yachty modeling the unreleased shoes to all of its social media accounts. Below is everything fans need to know to purchase the shoes before they sell out.

The NOCTA x Nike Hot Step Air Terra 'Black Yellow' releases on September 16, 2022. Fans can purchase the shoes for $190 on the NOCTA website and select retailers. 

Once Drake's kicks sell out, fans can purchase a pair on sneaker resale sites like eBay, StockX, or GOAT. We recently commended Nike and Drake for producing enough of the shoes so they remain relatively affordable for the average consumer.

Unlike the triple-white and triple-black shoes that preceded it, the 'Black & Gold' colorway is the first installment in Drake's signature line to move away from the monochromatic aesthetic.

Not long after his performance out in the Californian desert for Coachella, Lil Yachty dropped a first look at a Friends & Family iteration of his upcoming Air Force 1 collaboration with Nike. Going heavy on the patent leathers, the design could be viewed as an homage to A Bathing Ape founder Nigo as he emulates the Japanese icon in an infamous photo with a super-rare Bape Sta.

This particular iteration of the Lil Yachty Air Force 1 for the Concrete Boys is a time portal back to the mid-2000s when the Bape Sta was amidst its heyday. Loud pops of color and glossy exteriors match the rapper’s exuberant style and personality, more so than the retail versions that opt for a simple white leather and navy accents.

Lil Yachty also shared a look at several different colorways of his Air Force 1, including a white/yellow, black/purple, and black/red. This newest batch sticks with the standard leather exterior with sport mesh interior, complete with the embroidered Concrete Boys logo on the heel and the “IT’S US” on the tongue.

As it stands, a release date of the Nike Air Force 1 by Lil Yachty remains unknown, although a late Summer 2024 release seems likely given the uptick in activity.

The convergence of music and footwear continues to flourish, with renowned musicians leaving their mark on coveted silhouettes. Lil Yachty, one of the world’s biggest collectors, joins the ranks of industry icons like Kendrick Lamar and Drake, who’ve all received exclusive PEs.

Following the limited-edition “Concrete Boys” Air Force 1s , Yachty expands his footwear repertoire with a personalized take on the classic Air Max 1.

The foundation of the shoe remains true to the original: A crisp white mesh upper accented with timeless grey and black details. However, Yachty subtly injects his own narrative. The most striking addition is the Concrete Boys logo, prominently displayed near the midfoot. This graphic depicts the label’s mascot swinging a sledgehammer at the logo itself.

Further personalization comes in the form of a redesigned tongue tag. The classic Nike logo is replaced with a metallic silver globe, a symbol associated with the Concrete Boys label. While a single close-up image leaves the rest of the design a mystery, these details hint at a potential collector’s item.

Similar to Yachty’s previous creations, this exclusive Air Max 1 “Concrete Boys” is reserved for a select few. While collectors may lament the limited availability, this exclusive release serves as a testament to the growing influence of music artists in the ever-evolving world of sneakers.

Drake has been flexing his fashion designer muscles as “The Boy’s” collaborative Nike NOCTA line has seen release after release with the Glide welcoming six new colorways .

Most recently, the Glide is stepping off of the streets and onto the courts as the sneaker has been reimagined in a University of Kentucky colorway, paying homage to Drake’s favorite college basketball team. Fellow rapper Lil Yachty gave fans a sneak peek at the sneaker, which arrives in the Wildcats’ signature shade of blue and white. A mesh upper meets a “UK” logo on the lateral midfoot of the midsole, sitting in front of embossed “NOCTA” branding.

Lil Yachty Shares a Nike NOCTA Glide University of Kentucky PE

Drake's passion for basketball and loyalty to the University of Kentucky have been well-documented in his music and fashion choices. He's even taken part in the team's day-to-day activities and currently hosts them at his Toronto mansion. This love for the collegiate program moves onto a new canvas - the  Nike NOCTA Glide . Following up on the reveal of a slew of color choices set to release in the coming months, including a  “Bright Crimson,”   “Slime Green,”  and  “Triple Black.”

Revealed by Lil Yachty on his Instagram Story, the Nike NOCTA Glide University of Kentucky PE contains the usual fusion of materials, including mesh, textile, and TPU. Dominated by blue, the University of Kentucky's color, the sneaker sports white accents on the textile panel along the midfoot and selective parts of the midsole. The blue Swoosh insignia contrasts the white textile panel, while the TPU eyestays spell out “Nike” in crisp white. With its 'bug-eye' design, the sole unit features the Kentucky logo near the toe and the NOCTA branding near the heel. A solid blue outsole provides a fitting finish to the design.

As anticipation surrounding Drake’s next move with his collaborative Nike NOCTA line continues to build, a steady stream of colorways on his upcoming NOCTA Glide silhouette have surfaced. Just last week “The Boy” had six colorways pop up despite the shoe having no firm release details just yet. Following this, Lil Yachty has showcased a University of Kentucky -themed pair.

Possibly a player exclusive colorway, the NOCTA Glide pops in the Wildcats’ blue and white. As a diehard fan of the school’s men’s basketball team, Drake has assembled a fitting look for the squad. Mesh once again graces the upper with the “UK” logo visible at the lateral midfoot of the midsole, appearing in front of embossed “NOCTA” text.

I was trying on shoes when I overheard Antony talking to another guest. I thought "damn, this guy is providing some of the best customer service I've seen in awhile." Before I know it, he's coming up to me to ask if I needed any assistance. I would've walked out with one pair of Pegasus running shoes, but he helped me find the right size AF1's I was looking for so I got those too. I told him his management team needs to compensate him to a free lunch because his service is what makes all the difference for retail stores like that. Bravo Antony. Super knowledgeable guy from a educational, product, and technical standpoint. And the taller gentleman at the register was super helpful too, didn't get his name tho. Can't wait to be back!

I had a fantastic experience at this Nike store thanks to their excellent customer service. I found a pair of shoes I really liked, and while I was waiting in line to pay, the customer service associate who had earlier helped me find my size came over with a great suggestion. He mentioned that I could potentially save more if I used the Nike app. He quickly scanned my QR code, and we discovered that I had a 15% off coupon. That's what we call "customer delight" in marketing!

Any sneaker head knows to hit the outlet for a steal. Good people inside that will help you out. A lot of deals.

Very well organized clean store with great displays that weren't dusty and everything looked like it was fully stocked. There is a men and women's section as well as children's within both men and women's sides. Both men and women also have a clearance section and when I went the back wall area had an extra 20% off for the weekend!

Who doesn't love Nike factory stores? Really nice and big so you can navigate thru the store without bumping into people or displays. A lot of parking but there are a lot of stores. Jordan was our cashier. He was really nice and friendly.

People were nice and all. But they have no wide shoes. They used to have but they took it down and that's so frustrating.

not bad for a Nike store it's actually pretty big and parking was not bad the associates are very helpful and let me try on sizes for shoes. I kind of wish that they had more sales going on but I guess that's throughout the brand and not in their control but I also think that it could be a little bit cleaner however I will be back

Another weekend, another trip to a different Nike store. Having lived in San Jose during my college years, this was a go-to spot for convenience but the selection and deals/savings here is pretty hit or miss. The shoe selection on this visit was pretty lackluster. Lots of the same styles and colors but little variety. The clothes selection was pretty good, but the discounts aren't as deep as the clearance store in San Leandro. The same pair of yoga pants was $15-20 higher here. Overall for clothes, mediums are hard to find but smalls and larges were a plenty. A lot of the deals on clothes and shoes matched Nike online/app pricing. They've updated the store where they converted a row of shoes into a clearance clothing section. A few good items in there, and saving an additional 30% off of the lowest tag items was cool. I love Nike, so I'll always pop in if I find myself in the area to see what I can find (and I always do find something, it's like Target for me lol) it's just not a store I'd willingly drive 40-45 minutes to go shopping at.

If you need to be treated like garbage this is the store to go to! NOT ONE HELLO, Or ASKED IF I needed help! I had to ask my cashier HOW ARE YOU? And HAVE A GREAT DAY when I was leaving! I swear idk if it's these young kids that just don't know manners or if our society is that screwed up that we forget to be grateful to have a job to go to!
