Hull Damping – area above the propeller rotation plane to be treated with two (2) layers of E-A-R Specialty Composites Isodamp CN Tiles (CN-62), alternating between resin and chopped glass to form a constrained layer damping system to be the inboard side of the shell plate.

Engine room ceiling and fwd bulkhead treated with 2″ (5.08 cm) of Soundown lead foam and 2″ (5.08 cm) of 3M Thinsulate.  Inboard tank sides, aft bulkhead, underside of deck, forward side of engine room bulkhead and ventilation ducts treated with 2″ (5.08 cm) of Soundown lead foam and 2″ (5.08 cm) of 3M Thinsulate and covered with white aluminum panels by Soundown.

Oil Change System

Provide “Y” valve to switch from anchor wash to firefighting system. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

  • The AC electrical system is a 3-phase 120/208-volt distribution system with a maximum capacity of 60 kW. Power is supplied from two Onan generators and through one 100-amp shore power connection. The vessel is fitted with a 35kVA shore power converter allowing connection to any shore connection worldwide. Provisions have been made for the seamless transfer of power from generator to generator, or generator to shore side power connection.

Mäntsälä is a village of around 11.000 inhabitants north of the Finnish capital, Helsinki. It is the administrative center of the municipality with the same name and it is in the Uusimaa region. Its location along an intersection between several larger roads has been an important part of the village’s more recent development. The old road between Helsinki and Lahti even makes up the main road through the urban area, but the passing traffic is nowadays mostly using the nearby highway. In addition, the railway between Helsinki and Lahti also has a station on the outskirt of Mäntsälä.

A Short History of Mäntsälä

The history of Mäntsälä goes according to several sources back to 1585 when the construction of the first church in the area began. The village itself has a long history and the first known written records date back to the 15th century. The name has, however, seen many changes during the centuries. The spelling of the name changed during the 15th and 16th centuries and was for periods written as Mensela, Menselä, Mänsilä, Mensse, and Mentzeby.

Most of the development came after the Russian conquest of Finland in 1809. The Russian czar Alexander I came to Mäntsälä in 1809, visiting one of the local manors. The old church was later replaced and the current church was completed in 1866. Prior to that the village had developed and had already a public library, schools, and a town hall. The town hall was replaced in 1935 and the current town hall was built in 1992.

Finland gained independence from Russia in 1917 and Mäntsälä played a part in what happened in the following decades. It was here that the Mäntsälä Rebellion took place in nearby Ohkola in 1932 when the Lapua Movement made a failed attempt to overthrow the government. The Lapua Movement was a pro-german movement of Finnish nationalists and fascists that had been established in 1929. It was in 1932 that around 400 armed members of the Finnish White Guard intervened in a meeting that was held here by the Social Democrats. The White Guard played a part already in the Finnish Civil War in 1918 when the militia was fighting against the Soviet-supported Finnish Reds. The rebellion in Mäntsälä only attracted a small portion of the White Guards and only lasted a few days before the Lapua Movement was disbanded and its leaders arrested.

The Second World War did not leave Mäntsälä unaffected. Around 2000 refugees from Finnish Karelia were evacuated to the area and the locals eventually had to make land available for the many new arrivals. More recent history has seen the area develop into a transport hub with the logistics center of the store Tokmanni being built here. There has also been the development of data centers in the area.

Things to Do and See

There are a few historical buildings still standing in Mäntsälä, but there is also a lot of nature to explore in its surroundings. Most services and shops are along the main street Lahdentie and the smaller street Keskuskatu. Along the river, next to the center is also a larger sports complex for soccer and athletics.

Mäntsälänjoki & Kirsikkapuisto

Mäntsälänjoki, or the Mäntsälä River, runs through the village and makes up parts of the green areas. There are several walking paths along the river, connecting different parts of the village. There are also parks along the river, such as the Kirsikkapuisto, in English the Cherry Park. You will probably be able to spot some cherry trees here.

Mäntsälän Seurojentalo

The Mäntsälän Seurojentalo, or the Mäntsälä Clubhouse, is at the center of the village. It was built in 1926 and played a central role in the 1932 Mäntsälä Rebellion. Its large square is today used for different events and so is the building itself.

Mäntsälä Church

The current Mäntsälä Church was completed in 1866. It had been delayed for a long time due to funding issues created by the Crimean War. It was built with bricks and was last renovated in 1991.

Hau­kan­kier­ros

Hau­kan­kier­ros is a nature area in the northern parts of the municipality. It is a five-kilometer circular route that goes through the area’s varying terrain.

Kun pihasi kaipaa puhtia, kutsu paikalle Uudenmaan Pihapojat Oy! Suunnittelemme pihoja pääasiassa yksityisille asiakkaille, mutta olemme erikoistuneet myös taloyhtiöiden pihojen perusparannussuunnitteluun. Toimintamme ulottuu akselilta Lohja-Porvoo-Riihimäki aina koko Uudenmaan alueelle.

Olemme hioneet pihaosaamistamme huippuunsa jo vuodesta 1993. Vankan kokemuksemme myötä teemme toimivia ratkaisuja niin kasvivalinnoissa, pihan toimivuudessa kuin rakenteiden kestävyydessäkin. Pihaneuvonta

Palveluihimme kuuluu myös asiantunteva pihaneuvonta, joka alkaa pihaneuvontakäynnillä. Se sopii hyvin kohteisiin, joissa ei suunnitella tai rakenneta koko pihaa. Pihaneuvontakäynti on toimiva ratkaisu, kun suunnitellaan pienten kohteiden, kuten rivi- ja paritalojen yksityispihoja.

Käynnillä voidaan myös aloittaa vanhojen perusparannusta kaipaavien pihojen tai uudiskohteiden pihojen suunnittelu. Pihaneuvontakäynnillä voidaan keskittyä vain tiettyihin ongelmakohtiin tai käsitellä koko pihaa yleisemmällä tasolla. Käynti kestää tunnista kahteen tuntiin!

Mikä on pihaneuvontakäynti?

Neuvontakäynti kestää 1–2 tuntia. Neuvontakäynnillä käydään asiakkaan kanssa läpi pihan ongelmakohdat ja muut suunnittelua vaativat asiat. Pihalla tapahtuvan suullisen neuvonnan lisäksi konsultti voi luonnostella kevyitä luonnoksia pihasta tai sen eri osa-alueista. Lisäksi voidaan miettiä erilaisia kasvi- ja pinnoitevaihtoehtoja pihalle. Pihaneuvontakäynti sopii pihan omatoimirakentajalle, jolla pysyy lapio kädessä, mutta ei tiedä mitä sillä tekisi.

Varsinaista suunnitelmaa ei pysty neuvontakäynnin aikana tekemään ajan rajallisuudesta johtuen. Asiakkaan on hyvä pitää mukanaan muistiinpanovälineitä, sillä konsultin on vaikea kirjata itse ylös asiakkaan kannalta oleellisia ohjeita ja vinkkejä. Myös mahdolliset asemapiirrokset ja esimerkiksi kaavamääräykset on hyvä pitää mukana. Eri tilanteisiin olemme räätälöineet omat neuvontakäyntipaketit. Pihaneuvontakäynti sopii hyvin kohteisiin, joissa ei tarvitse suunnitella tai rakentaa koko pihaa, tai pieniin kohteisiin, kuten rivi- ja paritalojen yksityispihat. Neuvontakäynti on ideaali eritoten vanhojen perusparannusta kaipaavien pihojen suunnittelun aloitukseen. Neuvontakäynnillä voidaan myös aloittaa uudiskohteen pihasuunnittelu. Aivan pienimmät rivi- ja paritalojen yksityispihat voidaan tarvittaessa suunnitella hyvinkin pitkälle ja tarkasti neuvontakäynnin aikana. Isommilla omakotipihoilla voidaan tehdä yleissuunnitelmatasoinen luonnos.

Pihaneuvontakäynnillä tehdyllä suunnitelmaluonnoksella ei voida pyytää urakoitsijoilta urakkatarjouksia, sillä luonnoksen tarkkuus ei ole siihen riittävä. Luonnoksen pohjalta voidaan toki lähteä toteuttamaan pihaa, mutta tarkkaa kustannusarviota on vaikea antaa. Luonnoksen pohjalta voidaan pihaa toteuttaa tuntityönä. Neuvontakäynnin jälkeen konsultti voi tehdä tarvittaessa tarjouksen varsinaisesta pihasuunnittelusta.

Mitä hyötyä on neuvontakäynnistä?

Asiakas säästää rahaa välttyessään virhehankinnoilta. Oikeat kasvit tulevat oikeisiin paikkoihin, oikeita materiaaleja käytetään oikeisiin käyttötarkoituksiin ja pihan hoito helpottuu. Parhaimmillaan neuvontakäynnillä voidaan jopa välttyä vakavilta vahingoilta, kun esimerkiksi terveeksi luultu iso puu todetaankin lahoksi ja vaaralliseksi. Myös pihan kuivatusongelmat voivat hoitamattomina johtaa kosteusvahinkoihin. Kun samassa talossa asutaan vuosia, omalle pihalle voidaan tulla "sokeiksi”, eikä piileviä ongelmia välttämättä huomata. Ulkopuolisena ja puolueettomana konsultti huomaa ongelmat ensimmäisenä!

Neuvontakäynnin jälkeen saatu pihasuunnittelutarjous voi olla jopa 30 % edullisempi kuin pelkän tarjouskäynnin perusteella laskettu tarjous. Piha on monesti hyvin pitkälle luonnosteltu jo neuvontakäynnillä!

Miten varautua neuvontakäyntiin?

Varaa ja etsi hyvissä ajoin kaikki tontista ja rakennuksesta saatavilla olevat paperit mieluiten alkuperäisinä. Sähköisessä muodossa (pdf, dwg) olevat kuvat voi lähettää etukäteen sähköpostilla.

Pihaneuvonta alkaen 150 €. Maksetaan neuvontakäynnin päätteeksi saatavalla laskulla. Maksuehto on 7 päivän netto.

Suunnittelun aloittava neuvontakäynti (suunnittelutarvekartoitus)

Suunnittelun aloittavalla neuvontakäynnillä kartoitetaan pihan suunnittelutarve. Suunnittelutarve koostuu sekä asiakkaan toiveista ja tarpeista että konsultin tekemistä huomioista, jotka vaativat toimenpiteitä. Asiakas saa neuvontakäynnistä kirjallisen tarveselvitysraportin, jossa kaikki kohdat määritellään. Lisäksi asiakas saa kirjallisen tarjouksen sovituista palveluista.  Suunnittelun aloittava neuvontakäynti sopii vanhojen pihojen perusparannusprojektin aloitukseen. Neuvontakäynti ei sido tilaamaan mitään muita palveluja!

Mitä hyötyä on suunnittelutarvekartoituksesta?

Neuvontakäynniltä saatavaa tarveselvitysraporttia voidaan käyttää kilpailuttaessa muita suunnittelijoita. Tarveselvitysraportti sisältää kaiken tiedon, mitä tarvitaan pihasuunnitelman tarjouspyyntöä varten. Tällöin kaikkien suunnittelijoiden tarjoukset ovat vertailukelpoisia keskenään, koska kaikilla on käytössään yhtäläiset lähtötiedot kohteesta.

Suunnittelutarvekartoituksella saadaan selville todellinen suunnittelutarve ja vältytään kalliilta virheinvestoinneilta. Tarveselvitysraportin perusteella ei aina edes tarvita välittömiä toimenpiteitä. Suunnittelutarvekartoituksella saadaan selville pihan vaatimat toimenpiteet ja investoinnit vuosiksi eteenpäin, mikä tekee budjetin laatimisesta helpompaa.

Suunnittelun aloittava neuvontakäynti omakotipihoille 300 € (alv. 24 %).

Neuvontakäynnit taloyhtiöille koon perusteella 400 €, 500 € tai 600 € (alv. 24 %).

Maksetaan tarveselvitysraportin yhteydessä saatavalla erillisellä laskulla. Maksuehto on 7 päivän netto.
