  • Acquire full knowledge of complete product lines, features, and accessories available for purchase
  • Responsible for generating and managing client listings in their territory
  • Responsible for input and management of required sales information into our Customer Relationship Management system
  • Responsible for managing the entire sales process for those listings that turn into a sale.
  • Responsible for ongoing and after sales client care
  • Participation in sales meetings and sales reporting on a weekly basis
  • Co-ordinate with our marketing staff to make sure the boat is listed on all our websites and YachtWorld.com
  • Responsible for the showing of boats
  • Required to manage the client’s expectations and work with them on price negotiations
  • Specialize in answering “specific” buyer inquiries
  • Required to handle all boat offers and purchasing process along with making sure all sales documents are completed
  • Responsible for managing the entire sales process including haul outs, surveys, and sea tests
  • Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends and pricing; stay updated on latest developments and innovations in the boating industry
  • Negotiate deals and agreements to ensure beneficial outcomes for all parties involved.
  • Required to manage and help Yacht Sales Agents with purchasing process
  • Required to manage ongoing client care
  • Responsible for monthly reporting and attendance at sales meetings
  • Responsible for participation in events/boat shows
  • Responsible for sending update newsletters to clients on performance data
  • Responsible for after sales client care
  • Experience working in Yacht sales or related industry with expertise with boats
  • Minimum of 5 years’ sales experience
  • Previous sales management experience an asset
  • Experience working with a CRM system in a service driven business
  • Proficiency and experience with computers and mobile devices and working with software applications
  • Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office & Excel
  • M25 & CRM systems
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Internet search literacy and technically savvy
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Positive attitude and team player
  • Attention to detail
  • Expertise in boating required
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Results driven with a focus on client satisfaction
  • Familiarity with legal aspects of yacht transactions a plus

Staten Island Yacht Sales , founded in 1964 as Staten Island Boat Sales, began as a mere dream and has since expanded into one of the largest mid-size yacht dealerships in the world. Prior to the 1964 opening, its founders Phillip Bongiorno and his son Frank were selling Owens and Ulrichsen boats for Schatz Bros. in Brooklyn.

As the Verrazano Bridge was being constructed Phil and Frank, as entrepreneurs, decided to make that big leap only others dream about and go into business for themselves in Staten Island. The business began with a purchase of a trailer and a plot of land in Great Kills which is now the current site of our Staten Island location. In 1973 we leased a space on Woodcleft Canal, Freeport, Long New York and in 1978 we purchased the facility. The rest as they say is history for SI Yachts.

Let’s talk about what to expect:

On the sales floor, you’ll use a consultative sales approach guiding customers through their options, this is where your drive and passion for helping people will really shine.

You’ll be a part of the community through events, filling online orders and making outbound calls to existing and potential customers.

You’ll work a schedule between 9am-9pm, including weekends, so you can be there when our customers need us. Monthly seniority-based schedules are available 2 weeks in advance.

This is a fast-paced environment, being flexible and open to change will help you stay current with evolving tech and all the ways we work to meet customer’s needs.

Prior retail or customer-facing sales experience is a plus. No sales experience? We’ll provide you with the tools, training and coaching needed to help you meet and exceed your goals!

Our Retail Sales Consultants earn between $19.12-$21.91 + up to $13,700 in commissions if all sales goals are met. With our uncapped commission opportunities, overachieving those goals earn top sellers $62,460 per year.  Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.

Germain Motor Company Acquires Staten Island Yacht Sales

SI Yachts, one of the largest and most successful boat dealers and yacht brokerage firms in the Northeast, has been acquired by Germain Motor Company . Originally called Staten Island Yacht Sales before expanding into other markets, SI Yachts was founded in 1964 by Frank Bongiorno. Frank, who established the company as the longest operating Viking Yachts dealer in the world, as well as revitalized Staten Island Marina, will retire after more than 60 years in the marine industry.

SI Yachts is a new boat dealer for premium brands such as Viking, Princess, Absolute, Prestige, Pardo Yachts, and Valhalla Boatworks. The company has expanded over the years with offices in Jupiter, Florida, Newport, Rhode Island, Old Saybrook, Connecticut, and five locations throughout New York.

Germain Motor Company was founded in 1947 by Warren Germain, a personal accountant for Henry Ford, and owns dealerships in Florida, Ohio, Michigan, Arizona, and Montana. Germain is a fourth generation family business and represents luxury brands such as Porsche, Jaguar, Land Rover, BMW, Mercedes, and Lexus. Germain Motor Company acquiring SI Yachts comes just 2 years after Zach Germain, CEO & Partner of Germain Motor Company, established Germain Yachts and was awarded the Pardo Yachts territory on the west coast of Florida. Germain Yachts quickly grew sales volume and acquired an incredible shipyard, previously known as Mollys Marine, in downtown Naples Florida"
