FULL YACHT CHARTER REVIEW

Inspected by us..

LADYSHIP yacht charter and her local charter crew will be your guides through extraordinary charter experiences on your holiday in Croatia. Her superior Dutch pedigree allows her to accommodate 12 guests in 6 excellently-appointed cabins, spread across 2 decks.

The cabin configuration is outlined in 4 double and 2 twin cabins; this diversity allows families with children to pick the best configuration for staying close to their kids, while also allowing for a dose of privacy.

Built by Heesen in 1994, LADYSHIP yacht charter has had many upgrades and refits, the last being in 2018, when she saw a major remodelling project and several new amenities added.

Heesen guarantees excellence in every aspect of their yacht production, which is clearly visible when it comes to LADYSHIP. The robustness of Dutch design, coupled with immense experience, produces vessels that handle excellently in all conditions, while also providing peak comfort and luxury.

Despite her age, she offers the same degree of luxury as more modern yachts do, with the addition of history and experience being imbued in every fibre of this yacht. Her length reaches 41 meters, which is more than enough to house all the amenities necessary for an unforgettable holiday in Croatia.

These are plentiful, like the practical main deck day head or the jacuzzi lounge on the flybridge, as well as a massive hydraulic swimming platform, offering unobstructed access to the azure sea and plenty of different water toys.

When it comes to having fun on the water, LADYSHIP yacht charter is a certified RYA centre, meaning that you will receive the highest quality of water sports service, as well as have an opportunity to go scuba diving in the most glorious diving sites in Croatia. You can also get certified on the spot, if this is your first time diving. There will be a total of 7 crew members, all of which are experienced local sailors with decades of experience.

She is also equipped with high-tech stabilization systems, for maximum stability and comfort, both at anchor and underway, providing guests with seamless yacht experiences. Thanks to her mighty engines, LADYSHIP yacht charter can reach a solid maximum speed of 21 knots and a cruising speed of 14 knots. Both are more than sufficient to experience all the glory of the Croatian Adriatic without the need to skip beautiful sights because of low mobility.

Lastly, with her exterior design done by the famous Frank Moulder (see ONE BLUE ), she is guaranteed to turn some heads, when berthed in a busy coastal city. This is due to her polarized windows forming two continuous lines, giving stability to the profile, while her minimalist naval architecture communicates practicality and sturdiness.

A DAY ON THE YACHT

LADYSHIP yacht charter deserves to be boarded in a luxurious marina near a big coastal city, rather than a small port. Start your holiday the right way and tell your local SuperYachts Croatia broker to have LADYSHIP wait for you in the Zadar marina, a place where excellent service meets exquisite panoramas of the beckoning Croatian Adriatic sea.

You can arrive to Zadar by plane, road or the sea; regardless of the means of transportation, you will be instantly surprised by the historic architecture and cultural heritage of this ancient city. Located on a fortified peninsula, Zadar dominated the region throughout the ages, leaving it rich with incredible treasures in form of palace squares, gardens, high walls, towers and battlements.

If you have time to spare, why not take a short walk around the old core of Zadar and experience firsthand the many different pleasures that this city offers. While LADYSHIP waits to be boarded, take a short walk in the old core and get acquainted with numerous artisan shops selling souvenirs, but also quaint cafes, museums, restaurants, and many other different tourist hotspots.

Keep in mind that it would be a shame to spoil your lunch by eating on land, seeing that you have a fully qualified Michelin-level chef aboard LADYSHIP yacht charter. This individual cannot wait to showcase the skills acquired through a long and fruitful career of working in some of the best restaurants on the continent.

When you have seen enough of Zadar, LADYSHIP will be waiting for just several meets from the main city square, with your dedicated crew handing out welcome champagne to you and your charter party. Do not worry about luggage, just follow your stewardess on a tour of the yacht, while the rest of the crew take your belongings to appropriate accommodations. After an all-inclusive tour, choose a space to sit and enjoy LADYSHIP as she takes you on an adventure of a lifetime.

The wider area of the Zadar archipelago is home to more than 300 islands , all of which have something unique and different to offer to yacht charter guests. You can choose the perfect island yourself or let the local know-how of your crew be the deciding factor in picking the perfect islands for your first day in Croatia.

If your choice falls on Dugi Otok island , know that this patch of land has plenty to offer to first-time visitors. Known for orchards, vineyards, and the incredible Saharun beach, Dugi Otok island is also home to the Telaščica nature park .

The cruise may take some time, during which you can relax with one of several amenities on LADYSHIP yacht charter. Take your place in the air-conditioned salon and relax in a comfortable seating area while watching your favorite game or climb aboard the flybridge and take in the slow-shifting Adriatic panorama.

During the entire cruise, you are free to call upon your crew to serve a variety of different drinks, like premium champagne, hand-made cocktails, local Croatian spirits or non-alcoholic smoothies, alongside excellent Michelin-level canapes. Once you arrive in the vicinity of Dugi Otok island, be sure that you will instantly fall in love with this incredible isle.

Many secluded golden beaches await curious travelers; here, privacy and peace will be guaranteed. While some of the crew prepare to anchor LADYSHIP yacht charter, the other will be at the stern, opening the beach club garage door, which hydraulically transforms into a wide swimming platform. This area is spacious enough for all the guests to stand, swapping water toys and stories, as they sip perfectly-chilled champagne.

Spend the first half of the afternoon enjoying the bounties of Dugi Otok island, until you start feeling hungry. Before lunch, choose your dining venue; savor the elevated panorama from the flybridge, the air-conditioned atmosphere of the interior dining salon or the informal vibe of the upper deck aft alfresco dining area.

Once you have chosen, prepare to taste your lunch, which could start with oysters on grill with creamy spinach and artichoke puree, continuing with beef wellington tarts with grill stuffed portabella mushrooms, followed by smoked haddock in Italian garlic wine sauce with spinach gnocchi. For dessert, delight in Choux Inaya & Pépites Cacao. After you have enjoyed every last bite of scrumptious Michelin-level food, move to the flybridge and sit in the jacuzzi, as your crew prepares cocktails.

During this time, LADYSHIP yacht charter will start to move towards Telaščica Nature Park. This incredible natural wonder sits at the backdoor of Kornati National Park , one of the most treasured Croatian parks. You could spend the rest of the day in Telaščica, preparing to enter Kornati the next day.

There are many things special and unique about Telaščica, like a chance to witness nature in its primordial form, without any distractions or traces of civilization. Swim in the clear sea and observe the many different species of fish, that freely move around the water of the park. Cruise beneath white cliffs that reach a height of over 150 meters and then bathe in aquamarine lagoons that look like a set of a Hollywood movie.

Explore the remnants of ancient architecture in some of the most beautiful environments in the Croatian Adriatic. Listen to the local advice of your charter crew and enjoy the most remote and beautiful parts of the park in a guided tour or roam the wilderness alone and discover incredible beauty in fields of colorful flowers, small patches of hinterland and magnificent panoramas.

Spend the day surrounded by the beauty of Telaščica Nature Park; it gets even more beautiful when the sun begins to set and all the colors of the spectrum begin to appear in the sky. As the evening unfolds, you may want to dine under the stars, because Croatia has some of the clearest skies in Europe and passive sky gazing is an incredible tool to elevate every dining atmosphere.

Sit with your charter party on the flybridge and enjoy a dinner menu similar to seared scallops with braised truffle barley, followed by lobster tails with parmesan and parsley crust and goat cheese, and basil stuffed chicken with mustard curry green beans. Finish with a terrific cold raspberry cream cheese pastries with hot cognac liqueur for dessert.

After a delightful meal, you can spend the rest of the evening in anyway you wish. Sit on the swimming platform and enjoy being close to the sea with a cocktail in your hands or opt for the jacuzzi and be massaged by hot streams and bubbles, as you enjoy the companionship of your charter party.

LADYSHIP yacht charter also offers a good opportunity to enjoy a group movie night in the main deck salon, thanks to a large lounge setup and a big flat-screen TV. Whatever you choose, your hard-working crew will always be by your side to assist in any request you may have.

YACHT CHARTER DINING

LADYSHIP yacht charter is equipped like a small hotel, when it comes to the capabilities of her galley. Firstly, know that your yacht chef is more than capable of producing mouthwatering delights and culinary masterpieces that will transform the way you experience luxury yacht cuisine.

From the plating to the service, everything will be perfect. When you start experiencing all the different scents and tastes, you will be transported to a world where there are no culinary boundaries, just magnificent sensory inputs, which will elevate your yacht vacation in Croatia to a level beyond imagining.

Rely on your chef to take your senses on a journey from which you will return as a changed person, one that will experience the world of gastronomy in a different way. No longer will food have the meaning of just nourishing you; it will become a way to get in touch with yourself, as well as the country you are visiting.

Many yacht charter guests prefer tasting authentic local cuisine when they come to Croatia, and you may want to do the same. If that is the case, be sure to fill out your preference sheet beforehand and prepare the taste the essence of what the Croatian Adriatic sea is all about.

Firstly, the incredible freshness of the seafood will amaze you, as your chef prepares and grills many different kinds of fish, like grouper, tuna or seabass. Crustaceans will also be on the menu; you have not lived until you try scampi in a white-wine reduction sauce known as “buzara” as well as a broth made out of mussels, a Croatian specialty.

Lobsters and crabs can also be grilled and served in a “surf`n`turf” combination, while appetizers may include the famous black risotto, made from wild herbs and squid. Croatian cuisine is not just about the sea; there are also many different sources of food that are not tied to the water. This includes the interior hinterland of the Istrian peninsula, which is famous for its variety of “wild food” like asparagus, chestnuts, truffles and other mushrooms.

Finally, Croatia has a lot to offer when it comes to drinks; Croatian wines are some of the best in the world, to which many different international awards bare witness. Let your competent chef pair the dishes with different wines or ask your crew to hire a professional sommelier which will introduce you to all the different aspects of Croatian enology.

YACHT MAIN DECK

LADYSHIP yacht charter has a very straightforward profile, that aged like fine wine. Few are the chances to enjoy such classic lines and traditional naval architecture. One thing is for certain – when Heesen builds a superyacht, they build it to last.

Starting from the main deck aft, guests can relax in the alfresco veranda where they can enjoy meals or admire the panorama. Since this area is compact and does not serve a secondary purpose, stepping inside the main deck salon is necessary to experience LADYSHIP`s design.

The interior of LADYSHIP yacht charter is a blend between traditional interior architecture and contemporary design; these two opposing forces meet in the middle and create a stylish atmosphere that is both luxurious and subtle.

Each space in the interior is different and unique from every other space; there is no single art direction; instead, each room and cabin area is treated individually. This way of yacht designing is something that is not a common occurrence in the yacht design community, but Heesen pulls it off marvelously. There are many different kinds of ornaments and accessorizes spread out through the different decks, enabling guests to experience different levels of luxury.

Yacht charter accommodation: main salon & dining area

When it comes to the main deck salon, a staircase to port connects the main deck with the lower deck guest cabin near the beach club, while to starboard a quaint corner-placed lounge area invites guests to unwind in the luxurious atmosphere of the salon. A small chess table presents an opportunity to try to beat the yacht`s champion.

Moving forward, a grand bar in a shape of a crescent moon, with several barstools, will definitely be one of the more popular locations on your holiday. There will constantly be a crew member ready to serve drinks to guests at the bar, or teach them a couple of handy tricks when it comes to preparing handmade cocktails.

In the center of the salon, a very angular C-shaped sitting arrangement faces a pop-up TV and presents an opportunity for guests to enjoy movie nights together, with refreshing beverages and hand-made popcorn made using local Croatian butter.

Forward from this entertainment area, guests will observe the lavish interior dining area, with a long table able to sit your entire charter party comfortably. From here, two staircases lead to the lower deck and the upper deck salon respectively. Lastly, a practical day head is located to port, right next to the entrance to the main deck master suite.

The design of the salon incorporates many different shades of white, on both reflective and matte surfaces, creating an atmosphere that reminds of fast-moving mists or clouds. The texture of the floor and the furniture can account for this, seeing that they are both comfortable and plush; just like clouds. There are intermittent breaks in the white colour pattern of the salon in the form of lacquered wood cabinetry and other carpentry decorations and accessorizes, like narrow wall panels or furniture framing.

Yacht charter accommodation: main deck master suite

Guests can enter the main deck master suite starting from the portside corridor, which passes through a very spacious walk-in wardrobe. The main part of the suite consists of a big, centrally-placed berth, with cabinetry and nightstands placed on either side.

When it comes to amenities, a big armchair on the portside offers guests a chance to relax while getting ready for a fine dining experience aboard LADYSHIP yacht charter. There is also a full-sized table beneath the starboard window, which gives it plenty of natural light for reading or enjoying breakfast in your cabin with a marvelous view.

The decor of the suite mostly uses beige and crème colors to accentuate daylight, with several dark brown carpentry finishes, mostly concentrated around the berth headspace. The ensuite bathroom is equipped like a mini-spa; a bathtub with massage jets, as well as a shower cabin, allow guests to fully relax or just rinse the salt off after a swim. There is also a head and a bidet, with two sinks also being a practical addition.

YACHT UPPER DECK

The upper deck aft is reserved for a long stern bench, that follows the entire length of the aft section. Its purpose is clear; to provide seating in a glorious Adriatic atmosphere to guests of LADYSHIP yacht charter. There are two wide tables and movable chairs as well, which means you can also enjoy a fine dining experience in this area.

The unofficious design of this upper deck section means that it is perfect for relaxing drinks as well as dining; your expert crew will always be moving between the galley and the upper deck aft, bringing with them delightable delicacies, refreshing beverages, and premium champagne. Since the upper deck aft can be covered with a bimini and completely shielded from the sun, guests can enjoy this area any time of day.

To port, a practical second day head means that guests do not need to go all the way to the lower deck cabins to wash their hands before a meal. Next to the day head, also to port, a staircase leads to the sundeck, while the staircase to starboard takes guests down into the main deck salon.

Stepping into the sky lounge, guests can immediately sit down at the charming sofa arrangement to port and admire the design of this interior space. Right across the sofa is another dedicated bar with accompanying barstools.

This is a perfect addition to the sky lounge because your crew can serve drinks to guests allocated all across the deck; some might want to enjoy the alfresco atmosphere, while others stay in the interior, but all of them will be served from this beautiful polished wooden bar.

The floors in the sky lounge are bare, with wooden floorboards mimicking the teak on the exterior deck. Thanks to the subtle, but tasteful décor, the entire sky lounge exudes a strong dose of exclusivity and style.

An equal amount of surfaces are covered in brown polished wood finishes, while the other is covered by eggshell white glossy wall and ceiling panels. A design like this creates a subtle dynamic between the overlapping colors, extending the natural feeling tied to the sea and bringing it straight into the sky lounge.

Before leaving the sky lounge, guests will have a chance to sit at a full-length business desk, which can give the sky lounge a corporate feel. This could potentially be a good place for hosting a corporate yacht charter with your company , by holding presentations and meetings, with drinks being served at the bar; it is a perfect blend of business and pleasure.

The sky lounge is connected with the helm station via a long hallway. On the port side of the hallway, a quaint double cabin has the most unique views of the entire yacht.

Yacht charter accommodation: upper deck double cabin

This double cabin is more compact than its lower deck counterparts, but what it lacks in leg space it makes up for the most brilliant views in the entire vessel. The portside panorama is spectacular, thanks to a wide and long window located just beneath the queen-sized berth.

There is a single nightstand on the side opposite the window because the berth is strictly nestled against the wall. The window also supplies the cabin with massive amounts of natural light, so you will be able to sunbathe, even if you just lay on the berth. Besides the berth, this cabin is also equipped with a standard closet, as well as an ensuite bathroom with a shower cabin, a sink, and a head.

YACHT FLYBRIDGE

Arriving from the upper deck aft, the flybridge aboard LADYSHIP yacht charter is a personification of an out-of-this-world luxury experience, that can only be felt if you decide to book this yacht with SuperYachts Croatia.

The stairs are located on the port side, whilst a small lounging nook is located starboard. The coup de grace of the flybridge is definitely the costume-made jacuzzi, positioned on the stern. This jacuzzi is the prime reason why LADYSHIP yacht charter is to be considered a superyacht, offering unparalleled experiences of luxury and enjoyment, coupled with 5-star service from your hard-working crew.

Thanks to a mobile bimini, the jacuzzi can stay protected from the sun and provide a shaded environment; when the sun goes down, your crew can remove the bimini, allowing guests to enjoy the magnificence of a Croatian sunset, as well as the starry sky in the evening. Forward from the jacuzzi, there are L-shaped sofas on both the port and starboard sides, with a helm station in the middle.

These sofas are perfect for leisurely enjoyment while LADYSHIP yacht charter is underway and you can comfortably watch as the panorama slowly goes by. The centrally-placed helm station at the tip of the flybridge makes steering and maneuvering LADYSHIP yacht charter a very smooth experience.

Because the wheel is centered, and not leaning to either side, this provides better visibility in steering, as well as an overall better “feeling of movement” of the yacht.

YACHT LOWER DECK

The lower deck of LADYSHIP yacht charter is where most of the guests will be accommodated, in one of 4 well-appointed cabins. Three cabins in total (2 double and 1 twin) are located amidship in the lower deck, while the 4th twin cabin is positioned in an unusual location.

Yacht charter accommodation: lower deck aft twin cabin

One of the most unique characteristics of this awesome yacht is the twin cabin that stands out above all other cabins in the SuperYachts Croatia catalogue. This lone twin cabin is located towards the stern of the lower deck and is accessible through the main deck staircase, that connects the beach club with the main deck.

This means that this cabin has its own private entrance, alongside plenty of privacy and peace. These attributes mean that this accommodation can be used for those guests who do not like to be interrupted while resting, or for kids who want to be far away from their parents.

The simple and minimalistic design of this twin cabin does not mean that it lacks luxurious finishes or stylish touches, on the contrary; each berth has a mirror above its headspace, seemingly creating an illusion of a much bigger space.

Next, the wide porthole fills this space with plenty of natural light during the day, creating an inviting interior, where guests would want to spend time. There is also a dedicated ensuite bathroom, with a shower cabin, a head and a sink.

Yacht charter accommodation: amidship twin cabin

When compared to its counterpart in the aft section of the lower deck, the amidship twin cabin is definitely more stylized. There are still some similarities, like the mirrors behind each of the berths, but there is more space in general, and the twin berths are also a bit wider than in the aft twin cabin.

Rich textures, colors and details adorn this space, with artworks also in place to make this space more appealing to guests. Light beige and crème colors are the decorational mainstays of this space, which suits nicely with the overall style of LADYSHIP yacht charter.

The porthole also supplies this cabin with natural light, and in combination with the rest of the details and accessories, makes for an inviting accommodation, for both adults and children. This twin is also equipped with an ensuite, containing a shower cabin, a head and a sink.

Yacht charter accommodation: amidship double cabin

This double cabin is similar to the aft twin cabin, mainly due to its modern design, complimentary use of colors and smart space arrangement. The centrally-placed queen-sized bert has nightstands on either side of the berth, with plenty of storage space all around the cabin.

There is even a compact table, right beneath the starboard portholes, which will allow guests to read, do some business, eat breakfast or just fix their makeup, before an entertaining evening aboard LADYSHIP yacht charter.

When it comes to the colours, the dominant ones are definitely beige and light brown, with traces of white. This makes the interior seem warm and inviting, whilst the somewhat streamlined and minimalist approach to décor creates an atmosphere similar to a compact 5-star hotel room.

Yacht charter accommodation: amidship VIP stateroom

The VIP stateroom on the lower deck resembles the main deck master suite in many ways, like having a day sofa on the starboard side, a perfect place to relax, while your significant others find the ideal attire a fine dining experience aboard LADYSHIP yacht charter.

The queen-sized berth is placed in the centre of the stateroom; with sided edges, it provides more leg room in the cabin, while also making the berth look more unique. There are nightstands on both sides of the berth, with mirrors behind them, while the berth headspace is decorated with glossy wood wall panels and an art piece; this arrangement extends onto the ceiling and creates an impression of more headroom overall.

Because this VIP stateroom is full-beam, it benefits immensely from having port holes on either side of the cabin. Thanks to this, the space stays illuminated during the day, while also providing good views in the evening.

YACHT BEACH CLUB & SWIMMING PLATFORM

The beach club and swimming platform aboard LADYSHIP yacht charter are unique because this whole area closes when the yacht is underway. Once anchored, the hydraulic swim platform opens, to reveal a tender garage and a dedicated beach club area, which can be used for a multitude of purposes, once all the toys and tenders are launched.

Guests usually like to sit on movable chairs and enjoy drinking cocktails served by the competent charter crew, as they watch other members of the charter party have fun on the water.

Also, it is often that some of the guests request massages near the water`s edge, to feel the tranquil and soothing effect of the healing Croatian Adriatic sea. In this case, the crew hires a professional massage therapist to come and perform hot stone, deep tissue, aromatherapeutic or sports massages for guests in need of a good relaxation session.

Because the hydraulic garage door doubles as a swimming platform, guests will also have an opportunity to jump or switch water toys from this wide area, or just soak their feet while admiring the magnificent panorama. There are also safety railings, as well as a swimming ladder so that the water is accessible to guests of all backgrounds.

YACHT WATER TOYS & WATER SPORTS

When it comes to water toys, LADYSHIP yacht charter will definitely surprise charter guests with an extensive list of different playthings. There are some guests who do not love to spend time in the water by splashing and speeding over the waves, but rather enjoy a quiet and peaceful fishing session.

This is possible on LADYSHIP, because, thanks to the local know-how of your crew, you will always have the best fishing spots available. If you do manage to catch a fish, your dedicated yacht chef will gladly prepare it for you.

Two jet skis will provide plenty of excitement and adventure for guests hungry for some adrenaline. In between rides, you can approach the swimming platform and take a sip from a cocktail that will be waiting for you, before venturing out into the shimmering Croatian Adriatic sea.

A kayak will offer an opportunity to get acquainted with the stillness and the beauty of the sea, while still having enough mobility to explore the coastline surrounding LADYSHIP yacht charter. The kayak is the best way to find the perfect private beach and enjoy it for a short duration, before returning to the sea and searching for other interesting things along the shoreline.

There are also two stand-up paddleboards, which can be used in a manner similar to the kayak, with an added bonus of having the ability to sunbathe on the SUP or to practice your balance while paddling.

By using the tender, your expert yacht crew will tow any guests if they want to have fun on waterskis, wakeborads or the Jobe towable toys. There will also be 12 sets of snorkeling equipment, enough for the entire charter party to take to the sea in one big group and enjoy the treasures of the Adriatic. Share experiences with your closest friends and family members, and create unforgettable memories under the sea.

Finally, kids will absolutely adore the Aquaglide, which is a synonym for a really big slide that is mounted on the sundeck of LADYSHIP yacht charter. Allowing for countless hours of fun, the Aquaglide is a safe and easy way to enjoy the water, without the need of going to an aquapark. While the children play, the parents can relax, knowing that one of the crew is keeping an eye out for their safety.

LADYSHIP Yacht Charter

Ladyship yacht description.

Offered by DMA Yachting, the majestic charter yacht LADYSHIP is a 135 ft motor yacht featuring a jetski and a hot tub. The primary distinction of LADYSHIP are her elegant profile and alfresco dining areas. LADYSHIP spends the summer and winter season in Greece. She was completed by the well-known ship builder Heesen in 1994. A well-done refit was finalized in 2016. Superyacht insider sneak peek: 5 of the largest superyachts at the 2024 monaco yacht show.

The 400-foot-long Kismet embarks on her maiden voyage in the Med

When it comes to exclusive enclaves, it’s pretty hard to compete with Monaco. The world’s elite flock to the tiny principality on the French Rivera for its sunny weather, sophisticated hotels and casinos, spectacular shopping and other financial reasons. They love to drive their fast cars down the famous roads leading into the city, and they love the speed and power of the legendary Monaco Grand Prix, too.

Monaco Yacht Show 20224

But as for the absolute pinnacle of luxury, it doesn’t get much better than owning a superyacht. And for the select few who happen to be shopping for a superyacht, there’s one place to see nearly all of the best, and biggest, and most technologically advanced yachts that money can buy (in addition to the tenders, and limousines, and private submarines, and luxury cars that go along with a superyacht) in one place: The Monaco Yacht Show , which starts next week.

Renaissance is massive

During the show, the docks of Monaco’s famous port are always filled with numerous yachts longer than 250 feet. But this year, the largest superyacht in the show is 400 feet long! And lots of superyachts in the 300-foot-long range will be there, too.

Hackers Force Chrome Users To Hand Over Google Passwords. Here’s How

Apple’s update decision—bad news confirmed for millions of iphone users, today’s eclipse of the full moon sets up a ‘ring of fire’ — what to know.

So, if you are lucky enough to be in Monaco later this month, I’ll see you there. But if you not, here’s a sneak peek at the five largest yachts that will be on display.

Kismet underway

What can I say about the 400-foot-long Kismet (which was built by Lürssen , features an exterior design by Nuvolari Lenard and an interior design by Reymond Langton Design and is available for charter with Cecil Wright ) that can help you understand just how big a 400-foot-long superyacht is? How about, since it measures 40 feet longer than an American football field (including the end zones), it’s safe to say that Kismet would only just barely fit inside the Jacksonville Jaguars EverBank Stadium. And that’s only if it could somehow be lowered from the top with a crane!

Kismet departs Lurssen shipyard in Germany

But since these photos and that explanation can’t really convey just how big Shaid Kahn ’s (the owner of the Jacksonville Jaguars) new 400-foot-long superyacht is...The only way you’ll really be able to understand just how big the Jacksonville Jaguars owner’s new yacht is to see it for yourself in Monaco next week. It’s going to be largest yacht at the show and has raised the bar on what’s possible when it comes to designing, building, owning and chartering the largest yachts in the world.

The interior for the 400-foot-long Kismet that charters for $3 million per week

And since Kismet has already spent her first season in the Mediterranean and is available for charter through Cecil Wright (instead of being hidden away for a private owner like many yachts in this size range are), you, too, could experience what it’s like to live the superyacht life aboard one of the largest and most opulent vessels in the world.

The interior for the 400-foot-long Kismet that charters for $3 million per week is massive

So, if you looking for a charter yacht that costs roughly $3 million per week, the Monaco Yacht Show will be the place where you can see just how opulent Kismet (and theses other superyachts too) for yourself.

‘Renaissance’

The Bannenberg & Rowell-designed Renaissance that can accommodate 36 guests in 16 cabins is unlike ... [+] most other superyachts that are available to charter

The 367-foot-long, 7,200-gross ton, Bannenberg & Rowell -designed Renaissance is um, a “really big superyacht.” But what intrigues me the most is that unlike most superyachts that can only accommodate 12 guests per charter, Renaissance has been designed to swaddle 36 guests in superyacht luxury.

Renaissance underway

As you’d imagine, this yacht has it all. Open-air dining on five decks and a dining room with 18-foot-tall ceilings on the main deck. A sushi bar. A pizza oven by the huge pool. And of course, the requisite DJ stations when it’s time to party. There’s also a massive cinema that has seating 19 guests on lower deck—the perfect place to just Netflix-n-chill.

The 18-foot ceilings aboard RENAISSANCE BANNENBERG + ROWELL DESIGN

And, oh yeah, the spa features hot and cold plunge pools, steam room and sauna, two treatment rooms and a full beauty salon. Contact Burgess for more info.

The all-new exterior lines of Oceanco H3

I’ve seen lots of superyacht designs come to life thanks to the hard work, dedication, perseverance and love that the large fraternity of superyacht designers, builders, artists and countless others pour into every spectacular new yacht that gets launched.

The rebuilt Oceanco H3 got a "rockstar" relaunch.

But I must admit, after seeing the 344-foot-long Oceanco -built (and rebuilt) H3 (first launched in 2000) emerge after an intensive 3-year-rebuild, I’m at a loss for words. I’m in awe, actually. Because after spending time at Oceanco with the project team and the owner's representative , I understand why this project is way more than just a refit.

It’s been transformed into a brand-new yacht with every modern comfort, but also retains its…soul.

The accommodations onboard the 334-foot-long H3 are spectacular

The sustainability impact of this project is also pretty awe-inspiring to me, too. According to Oceanco’s team of engineers, simply using an existing hull instead of building an brand-new one resulted in a 50% reduction of carbon emissions for the build. And since H3 has been repowered with smaller yet much more efficient engines (and her top speed has been reduced slightly), the yacht burns much less fuel than she previously did as well. Delivery time was reduced by 25% as well, and hopefully we see more projects take this approach in the future.

The video wall in the welcome area of the Ocean co H3 is innovative as well as attention grabbing.

Oceanco’s CEO Marcel Onkenhout adds, “To say that this has been a remarkable process is an understatement. The project has called for passion, dedication and extraordinary craftsmanship, with many involved in her creation now contributing to her recreation, including myself.” Contact Edmiston for more info.

Silver Yachts' BOLD is sure to get attention at this years Monaco Yacht Show

The 278-foot-long BOLD is the largest and most aggressive superyacht the Australian-based Silveryachts has ever built. Working in collaboration with yacht designer Espen Øino BOLD brings a whole new look to the explorer yacht category.

There helideck aboard BOLD is...bold!

Amels Full Custom ENERGY will be at the 2024 Monaco Yacht Show

The 255-foot-long Amels full-custom yacht ENERGY was created by exterior designer Espen Øino and interior designer Francois Zuretti to provide unapparelled luxury and access to the water.

The top deck’s helipad forward is a versatile space outside heliops—sun lounge, al fresco yoga studio with wraparound ocean views, a space for elevated entertainment served by the statement bar...assorted lounging areas and dayhead inside. The jacuzzi and sun pads aft allow guests to bask in the sun.

The bridge deck music lounge is designed for acoustic excellence. There is a Steinway baby grand piano and marble-topped bar. The entertainment continues in the open-air lounge aft, guests can find some privacy on the sofa forward of the bridge or keep going on the walkaround sidedecks to appreciate the anchorage from every possible vantage point.

Full-height windows in the the owner’s deck bedroom provide direct access to a private foredeck terrace, a hot tub and a mesmerizing marble fire pit. Contact Burgess for more info.

Pearl Yachts reveals first Pearl 82 yacht at boot Dusseldorf

Pearl Yachts delivers first 25m model with private owner's terrace

The first unit in Pearl Yachts ' 25.3-metre series, christened Pearly Spencer , has been delivered following her debut at this year's Cannes Yachting Festival . According to BOATPro , she is now anchored in Port de Portals Nous in Palma, Mallorca.

The Pearl 82 model sits between the shipyard's Pearl 95 and Pearl 72 offerings and features a raised pilothouse design with two aft deck configurations and a semi-walkaround deck with a forward master suite and private forepeak terrace.

The company claims this model is the only yacht in its class to offer this type of configuration, and Pearl Yachts managing director, Iain Smallridge, called the 82 "the most compact superyacht on the market".

The Pearl 82 builds on the collaboration between the shipyard and Bill Dixon whose studio, Dixon Yacht Design , created the exterior profile and naval architecture. Naturally, the model shares a sporty profile with the rest of the Pearl range with an exterior defined by four bands of dark glass.

Owners are offered the choice between two aft deck arrangements: the "Riviera" configuration with aft-facing sunpads behind the table and a sofa set up, and the "Veranda" layout with pivoting seating that can be used for dining or for observing activities at sea. Fold-down bulwarks at this level expand the aft cockpit, while a tender garage offers storage for a Williams 345 tender – or similar – and a Jet Ski.

All the outdoor areas can be protected by a foredeck Bimini, electric shades and the hard top on the flybridge, which can be set to full shade, adjustable louvres and full sun at the touch of a button. The owner's foredeck lounge is also connected to the flybridge deck and benefits from a full-sized dining table, a bar, a sunpad and a spa pool.

Kelly Hoppen, another long-time Pearl Yachts collaborator, is responsible for the interior which accommodates up to 10 guests with a forward master suite that has access to a private bow terrace through a glass door. The remaining guest accommodation is found on the lower deck, configured as two twins and two doubles.

"We've used beautiful materials, and the joinery and the detailing are absolutely intricate, but the feel of when you are on board is quite open plan, with these wonderfully enlarged windows, which make you feel that you are really out at sea, rather than being enclosed inside of a yacht," said Hoppen.

Other interior highlights include a main saloon with floor-to-ceiling windows which, together with cut-out bulwarks, allow an abundance of natural light to fill the space. Forward is dining for all 10 guests with galley access to port.

Engine room access, galley access and foredeck access are all positioned on the port side of the yacht, ensuring privacy for guests and crew.

"The design revealed in Düsseldorf set the stage for what will be a truly spectacular world premiere at Cannes next September," Smallridge said at the yacht's launch in July 2024 . "This yacht is a testament to our feature-focused philosophy and innovative spirit, and to our dedication to pushing the limits of yacht design and flawless quality."

The Pearl 82 offers owners a choice of three propulsion packages with twin MAN V12 engines ranging from 1,650hp to 2,000hp, with the most powerful engines delivering a top speed of 33 knots.

The Top 12 Things to Do in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia

Take a first-rate trip to Russia's fifth city

Ershov_Maks/Getty Images

Although it's Russia's fifth-largest city, you could be forgiven for never having heard of Nizhny Novgorod. Notwithstanding that another Russian city is simply called " Novgorod ," the current name of the city just doesn't have a memorable ring to it. (By contrast, its name during the Soviet years — Gorky, like the famous author — was much more iconic.) At any rate, this city of just over a million around six hours east of Moscow is more than worth a visit. These are just 12 reasons why!

Tour the Kremlin's 13 Towers

Like most every other city in Russia, Nizhny Novgorod is home to a Kremlin. (The word "kremlin" means "citadel" in Russian, and has nothing to do with the modern Russian government) One thing that elevated the Kremlin of Nizhny Novgorod above others in Russia (with the possible exception of the Moscow Kremlin and one or two others), however, is the fact that its wall has 13 towers. During the summer months, at least one free walking tour per day operates from the main entrance of Nizhny Novgorod's Kremlin.

Climb Russia's Longest Staircase

Named for one of the most famous Russian pilots of the early aviation age (Valery Chkalov), the Chkalov Stairs connect two of Nizhny Novgorod's public squares, which sit on the upper and lower embankments of the Volga River, respectively. Built in 1943 (during the period when Nizhny Novgorod was known as Gorky), the Chkalov Stairs currently have the distinction of being the longest staircase in Russia.

Go Wild at Limpopo Zoo

One thing that surprises many travelers to Nizhny Novgorod is how amazing its zoo, colloquially known as Limpopo is. In addition to being home to a tropical botanical garden (which, not surprisingly, is indoors), the zoo hosts a variety of reptiles, mammals and birds. There's also a small sculpture park on the grounds of Nizhny Novgorod's zoo, including both original and replica pieces.

Shop (or Just Stroll) Along a Storied High Street

Bolshaya Pokrovskaya Street has been the de-facto "Main Street" of Nizhny Novgorod for more than 200 years. Well, minus the Soviet Union period, during which the cafes that once (and now) lined it became somewhat worthless, since intellectual conversations were basically forbidden. These days, you can come here for a cup of Russian tea then shop at the dozens of boutiques you'll find on either side of the street.

Sun Yourself at the Spit

Nizhny Novgorod sits at the confluence of the Oka and Volga Rivers, with the triangle of land at the point they meet being known as the Nizhny Novgorod Spit. Ignoring the unfortunate double-meaning of its name for a moment, this is actually a wonderful place to get a tan, if it's summer in the city and the sun happens to be shining. Even if not, photographers will enjoy a trip here for a view of the Kremlin and city center across the Volga.

Marvel at the Open-Air Museum of Rozhdestvenskaya Street

Like Bolshaya Pokrovskaya Street, Rozhdestvenskaya Street has long been one of the most important streets in Nizhny Novgorod. However, while the former has become a primarily commercial artery in recent decades, the charm of the latter is in its well-maintained buildings, which hearken back to the mid-18th century. In fact, some locals go so far as to consider Rozhdestvenskaya Street an "open-air museum."

Ride Russia's Newest Cable Car

Russian investment in infrastructure isn't quite as dramatic as that of, say, China, but the Federation has nonetheless built a selection of interesting and modern transportation systems since the fall of the USSR. Among them is the just-opened cable car, which travels from the center of Nizhny Novgorod over the Volga River to suburban Bor. At any rate, a ride over the river and back is definitely worth inclusion on your list of things to do in Nizhny Novgorod.

Taste Traditional Shchi Soup

Shchi is one of Nizhy Novgorod's most delicious local specialties, available in most every local restaurant that serves Russian food. From above, a bowl of shchi seems incredibly complicated, with a colorful palette that suggests the inclusion of dozens of diverse ingredients. In fact, the magic of shchi is in its simplicity. Building on the traditional pan-Russian recipe of cabbage, pork fat and salt (yes, just three ingredients), locals in Nizhny Novgorod sometimes add minced meat or egg whites as bonus items, then top the tangy soup with a dollop of sour cream.

Survey Amazing Russian Orthodox Architecture

Think the only amazing Russian Orthodox churches are in Moscow and St. Petersburg? Think again. Nizhny Novgorod boasts several amazing examples of Russian Orthodox architecture. From the brilliant golde domes John the Baptist Cathedral near the Volga River, to the expansive grounds of 14th-century Pechersky Ascension Monastery, Nizhny Novgorod is an architecture buff's dream!

Take a Look Back in Time

Nizhny Novgorod's historical center is relatively large and well-preserved, but a stroll (or 10) through it isn't the only way to get a feel for the city's centuries-long past. Head to the Russian Museum of Photography, which not only showcases a variety of images of Nizhny Novgorod that date back a century or even longer, but also spotlights the equipment Russian photographers have used throughout the years, and notable figures in Russia's photography history as well.

Visit the Convent from the Movie "Salt"

You'd be forgiven if you've entirely forgotten the 2010 film "Salt." However, if you remember any destination from this spy thriller, it's likely the facade of Makaryev Convent, which is located within day-trip distance of Nizhny Novgorod. Having served as a monastery from its consecration in the early 15th century up until the beginning of the Russian Revolution, Makaryev became a convent after the fall of the Soviet Union , and is now home to 22 nuns.

Take an Excursion to a 12th-Century Tea Town

Another worthwhile day trip from Nizhny Novgorod is to the town of Gorodets, which sits about an hour to its northwest. With a history dating back to the 12th century, Gorodets boasts an interesting array of architecture and museums, including one dedicated to samovars.

Top 10 Things To Do And See In Nizhny Novgorod, Russia

ladyship yacht owner

Located about 400km east of Moscow , Nizhny Novgorod is one of the most important centers of cultural, economic, and political activity in European Russia . Widely considered, after St Petersburg and Moscow, to be Russia’s ‘third city’, Nizhny is fast becoming a hot-spot for Russian and global tourists alike, attracted by the city’s up-and-coming reputation and stunning landscape.

The view over Nizhny Novgorod from the city’s Kremlin walls

The Kremlin

Jutting out from the cliffs that overlook the meeting point of the great Volga and Oka rivers, Nizhny Novgorod ‘s ancient Kremlin boasts of some of the best views in the city. Designed by an Italian architect, the 13 magnificent towers and the 12 meter high walls of Nizhny’s Kremlin date back to 1500. On this very spot in 1612, heroes of Russian history Kuzma Minin and Count Dmitry Pozharsky defeated the invading Polish army in extraordinary circumstances. This moment has become legend in Russian history and a statue in honor of these two lies at the foot of St Basil’s in Moscow. The Kremlin is the historic center of the city where you will find an art museum and the lovely Cathedral of the Archangel Michael, as well as a striking monument to those that fought in the Second World War and its flame eternally flickering on in their memory.

The eternal flame in Nizhny Novgorod’s Kremlin

Ride on the cable car

Completed in 2012, taking a ride on Nizhny Novgorod’s cablecar has fast become a favorite activity of tourists. The trip offers unparalleled opportunities to view the city’s gorgeous natural landscape from this bird’s eye position. The 3660m long gondola lift connects Nizhny to the town of Bor and stretches across the Volga River for 900 panoramic meters. The gondola acts as both a convenient means of transportation and a fantastic sight-seeing expedition – come at sunset for a golden-bathed view of the river and surrounding landscape.

The house-museum of Maxim Gorky

During the Soviet era, Nizhny Novgorod, birthplace of celebrated Russian writer Maxim Gorky , was renamed ‘Gorky’ in honor of this national hero. This home has been preserved in a state as accurate as possible to how it was left by Gorky and is so successful in this that it would seem as though the writer still lived there. The museum ‘s historic interiors and authentic furnishings will transport you back to the 1900s and the creative world of this icon of Russian literature. Come and make the most of this unique experience to delve into the childhood world of this Russian father of social realism. Museum booklets and guided tours are available in English.

Nizhegorodskaya Yarmarka

A yarmarka is something akin to a fair, and this historic former market place was restored in 1991, the site now playing home to a superb modern exhibition center. The city’s yarmarka plays host to international events, fairs, and conventions. In 2011, for the 20 year anniversary of the fair’s refounding, a vast array of exhibitions were organized, attended by thousands including members of the British royal family, Vladimir Putin, Mikhail Gorbachev , and Margaret Thatcher . The fair is not only a buzzing center of business and culture, it is also one of the city’s most impressive sights.

The Nizhegorodsky State Art Museum

Located inside Nizhny Novgorod’s ancient Kremlin, the building that houses this art gallery was once the home of the governor of the city. The exhibits are wide-ranging and include everything from 14th century religious icons, to work by 20th century contemporary Russian masters. Particularly dazzling is the collection by Russian painter Nicholas Roerich. There is also a large arts and crafts collection which demonstrates the exquisite handiwork of Russian artisans throughout history.

Bolshaya Pokrovskaya Street

The chkalov staircase.

An idyllic spot from which to watch the sun’s rays set over the city, this monumental creation was constructed by the Soviet government and is unique to the city of Nizhny Novgorod. The staircase derives its name from pilot Valery Chkalov who, in 1937, became the first man to fly from Moscow to Vancouver through the North Pole. A monument to Chkalov stands at the top of the stairs. The construction of the staircase cost almost 8 million rubles – an immense sum at the time. Over 1,500 stairs connect the city center with the river embankment – making Chkalov’s landmark the longest flight of stairs along the Volga. Nowadays the staircase is a favorite meeting place and relaxation spot for locals.

The Rukavishnikov Estate Museum

The Rukavishnikovs were a family of immensely wealthy merchants originating from the region around Nizhny Novgorod. This superbly restored palace , their former home, has been transformed into a museum of Russian history and gives a realistic snap-shot of life for the wealthy under tsarist rule. The ornate 19th century interiors and exquisite facade are sure to dazzle with their beauty while the lush green of the surrounding natural landscape provides a tranquil getaway from the city center. Lavish furnishings, priceless antiques, and glistening gold will transport you back in time to a world of balls, carriages, banquets, and tsars. Join the world of Russian noble ladies and gentlemen for a day in this stunning palace.

The Sakharov Museum

Nizhny Novgorod’s Sakharov Museum is dedicated to dissident Russian scientist Andrei Sakharov . The nuclear physicist and human rights activist was exiled for six years to the very flat in which the museum is now housed. Sakharov’s support for civil reform and improved human rights in the Soviet Union earned him harsh persecution from the Russian government, but also, in 1975, a Nobel Peace Prize . Sakharov was incarcerated here until 1986 when a KGB officer arrived to install a phone in the flat. Just after the phone was installed it began to ring: the caller was Mikhail Gorbachev, ringing Sakharov to inform him of his release. This phone is now one of the museum’s most treasured artifacts.

The National Centre of Contemporary Art

Inside the walls of Nizhny’s Kremlin can also be found one of the best modern art galleries in Russia. Linked to galleries in both St Petersburg and Moscow, this top-ranking exhibition center houses regularly changing displays of both Russian and international art as well as interactive exhibits and a media library. Progress is also on-going of adding a concert hall, extending the exhibition areas, and creating a restaurant. These additions aim to make art contemporary, not simply a detached, unrelatable concept, but bring it closer to the Russian people.
